Most zombies are made from humanoid remains, though the flesh and bones of any formerly living creature can be imbued with a semblance of life. Necromantic magic, usually from spells, animates a zombie. Some zombies rise spontaneously when dark magic saturates an area. Once turned into a zombie, a creature can’t be restored to life except by powerful magic, such as a resurrection spell.
A zombie retains no vestiges of its former self, its mind devoid of thought and imagination. A zombie left without orders simply stands in place and rots unless something comes along that it can kill. The magic animating a zombie imbues it with evil, so left without purpose, it attacks any living creature it encounters.
We should continue on and find the creator of this foul stenching being and for what purpose. After all, it smells worse than Geltrix and Lugz put together.
The group advances. Arnnon and Lugnitz at the front with Geltrix, Othronus and Vi following behind.
The tunnel opens up.
A round, high-ceilinged cave opens here. It has two narrow exits, one leading north and the other south. A flat boulder sits in the center of the cave. It’s about six feet across, eight feet long, and three feet high. Dark stains color its top.
Two zombies drop down from a ledge above the door after dropping a crate full of rocks on the heads of the first two intruders. They take 5 damage from the drop
Lugnutz and Arnnon both dive out of the way of the falling rocks. Rolling nimbly back to their feet. There’s a hollow crunch as both zombies jump from the ledge above and land where the adventurers were scant seconds before.
The damage from the fall goes unnoticed as the zombies climb back to their feet, uttering an unearthly wail and spreading the foetus stench of decay

The cave continues west heading further in. The natural light from the entrance dims and a light source will be needed to see better
