"Aye he did mention something about a big beastie in there that was leading em. I can heal ye up but perhaps I should save me magic for battle." Cormac says as he looks over the party, his Warhammer still held tightly in his hands.
The group diligently clears out the area where the fight took place. You use the dense briar thickets to hide the bodies and, while Flint keeps watch, the rest of the group tends to their wounds and rest for a small while. (You are now in a short rest, feel free to to roll hit dice for healing and chit-chat for a while if you want).
You are resting where the goblins and wolf were previously hiding. While Flint is not being as silent as he'd wish, no one comes out of the cave. The sound of the stream muffles whatever sounds may come out of it. It is just past midday and the only thing that Flint can perceive is the familiar stench of animal coming out of the cave.
“If we’re going to go in there, we need a plan. I can disguise myself to look like a goblin and try to sneak in, but based on Gnish’s reaction I’m not sure what’s in there is goblin-safe. Otherwise, (shrugs), I'm happy letting you tough alpha male bruisers go first and I’ll try to soften up whatever we see from the rear.”
"Unless ye can speak goblin that might be hard. I can speak it since I had to deal with the nasty buggers back in me home." Cormac says as he cleans some of the goblin and wolf blood off his hammer. "If that is what ye want to do it would be wise. It seems two of us are good fer that."
(at the end of the short rest when the others come back to Flint) "I smell more animals in there. Be prepared to fight if we have to, though if possible I would prefer to avoid animal bloodshed"
Avier doesn't pay much attention to his surroundings and makes a lot of noise, as he hits stalagmites with his mornigstar by mistake. Luckily, the stream here is louder than outside and no one else but the members of the party notices.
Just inside the cave mouth, a few uneven steps lead up to a small, dank chamber on the east side of the passage. The cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end, and is filled with the stench of animals. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where three wolves are chained up just inside the opening. Each wolf's chain leads to an iron rod driven into the base of a stalagmite.
The wolves can't reach you where you are (standing on the steps), but they seem ready to attack if you take a step closer.
Sylric also notices that the main passage from the cave mouth climbs steeply upward, the stream plunging and splashing down its west side. In the shadows, a side passage leads west across the other side of the stream.
Avier whispers back to the rest of the party, putting away his shield and morningstar and pulling out two handaxes, "Let's put down these puppies, quietly."
Once everyone appears ready to throw, shoot, or cast, he'll hurt his handaxes at one of the wolves.
As Avier brings out his hand axes, the wolves stiffen their legs, ears held high. Their eyes are wide, watching the axes in Avier's hands, with their tails straight up.
One of the wolves positions itself between the other two and the party.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Avier hesitates, looking the wolf in the eyes while making a placating gesture, "Alright, listen here, we don't want you making any fuss, so just be quiet good boys and I won't have to toss these your way."
Cormac raises his warhammer and slowly steps forward to look at the wolves. "Either kill the beasties or leave em before we find ourselves with goblins up to our arses."

Flint takes out some of his rations and holds it out calmly walking towards the wolves while talking (no spell slots left for speak with animals unfortunately) stopping just outside their reach. We mean you no harm. If you let us past we will release you so these goblins don't hurt you anymore have this food as a sign of goodwill."
Flint places the food down just in reach of them with no sudden movements. 17
"I will stay here and watch. If you hear the sound of an owl, come here"

"I, for one, could use a pipe...", Sylric mutters, "Lead the way, lead the way..."

Gwynn relaxes, feeling her strength return.

Avier stands up, slipping his shield on and unhooking his morningstar before giving a nod to Cormac, "Sounds good to me, let's get a move on."
He heads into the cave, trying his best to be quiet while keeping an eye out for any hidden passages or traps.

”No, I can’t speak goblin and unfortunately I can only disguise myself, not someone else.”
Sylric stows his pipe in his sleeve, mutters prayers to Oghma, and shuffles after the group.
As Sylric enters the cave the prayers stop and his eyes narrow. He searches the shadows for anything that may be of concern.

Gwynn will once again pull out both daggers, but hang back in the rear.

Cormac raises his warhammer and slowly steps forward to look at the wolves. "Either kill the beasties or leave em before we find ourselves with goblins up to our arses."
Gwyyn sheathes her daggers and slowly approaches the wolves with hands up palms out. “Shhh, shhh”
If they growl or lunge she will jump back.
