"Almost all of us are fine, Spotty. The only injuries are from the one who broke ranks and pelted up the hall to open a new door." He gives a significant look to Zak. "We ought to check the room, then fall back to Meepo's nest to sort out where to go from here. That body," He gestures to the 'fresh' corpse in the room that the rats were eating, "may be one of the missing adventurers... Or a goblin. It does look pretty ripe..."
The humanoid corpses in the chamber include two goblins, a kobold, and one human male. Poking through the refuse uncovers 312 sp, 68 gp, and 3 gems (worth 25 gp each). On and around the human’s corpse are several items: studded leather armor, five daggers, a longbow, a backpack (a bedroll, a tinderbox, and three torches), a quiver with six arrows, a potion of healing, and a pouch that holds 17 gp. A gold ring the human finger has an engraving on it (in Common): Karakas.
(ooc: I can be a nice DM sometimes, but the healing potion is actually here from the story module, not from the goodness of my heart)
Renny very carefully retrieves the items from and around the body. She repeats a quick phrase and hand movement as she goes (prestidigitation), which appears to clean the objects of anything just before she grabs them. She eventually has everything out into the other room with the fountain, including the ring which she's spending a moment to study curiously.
Martin looks at the healing potion and nod's at Renny. "I could use that to apply to a bandage to bind his wound and increase it's healing then have him drink the rest and he should be feeling much better. After all, ones insides should remain inside and their outsides outside. What do you say Zak?"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zak lowers his head in shame after Hef's little scolding. He manages to get out a "Sorry everyone....." and then looks to Martin, not saying anything but clearly agreeing with his plan with the healing potion.

OOC: Let me know if that roll is incorrect for the healing potion (2d4+2)
Hef nods gravely as Renny examines the ring and asks after the name. "Aye. He was Fel's ranger that insisted on coming along with the party. Lets get these things stowed and make sure Zak's had some time to recover."
As they're packing he looks to Zak, "I don't think anyone's mad at ye, lad. Ye just need tae slow down. Take a few moments before acting to see if other people are on the same course. If ye open a door, look to see who's there. If ye charge up to a kobold queen, read the room. If the rest of us aren't followin', ask yerself, and maybe us, why tha' is. We may just need a few moments, or it may not be the correct path. None of us want tae carry ye home and lay ye in the boneyard."
"I understand... I will do better next time" Zak says to Hef as he is starting to feel a bit better as Martin treats the bandages to wrap around his abdomen and then Zak drinks the rest of the potion down. Zak wipes his mouth.
"It's just sometimes I get this feeling that overpowers me... like a rage almost... I know it's from my Orc blood... it just sometimes gets the better of me. Sometimes being most of the time. I try and fight it but in the moment all I see is red. I will work on it... for all of you. I promise."
Zak looking at all of the party now not just at Hef.
"It's alright, Zak. It's like Hef said - we just don't want you to die."
Meanwhile, Spotty is inspecting the studded leather armor. It still seems to be in good condition. He figures he could wear it, even if it would be a bit oversized for him.
Renny looks back at the body and then puts the ring away safely, "Suppose someone will want it, as proof or a momento perhaps." she looks back to the rest of the stuff, "The weapons and armour are of no use to me... and well that's more money than I've ever seen at once before. What do we do with it?"

"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow" "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Zak grins at Spotty. Now that he is not about to die, he remembers the goblin voices in the other room. He moves to the south entrance of the fountain room which goes into the top of the long hallway and stands guard in the doorway (it's obvious that he is standing guard, like he's protecting/repaying his friends for saving him) while Renny and the others poke around with the loot.
Spotty: Karakas wasn’t a very broad shouldered individual, so the fit seems okay for now. It might be worth it to get it slightly tightened up in the long run.
Gwenant looks over at the pile of riches and then at Renny. "Isn't it obvious? We take it, maybe trade some to Yusdrayl for supplies or set some aside for the family of the deceased when we get back to Oakhurst, and split the rest between us. Little else to do but take what we can use and thank the dead for their sacrifice." She stoops down to pick up one of the daggers, checks the feel of it in her hands, and slips it into her belt with a nod.
Zak is still in the south doorway looking down the hallway on guard with his sword out now. He is getting antsy again... but quickly remembers what Hef said and is definitely not moving anywhere until his comrades do so.
"Well, now that your insides are back where they belong, I suppose we could handle another fight..."But as he says this, Spotty slowly looks at the others, as if gauging their approval.
"Yeah, I can go a while longer, but I probably shouldn't be taking the vanguard. It'd be embarrassing if you all went tripping over my body after some goblin gets a lucky poke past my shield!" It doesn't take a particularly perceptive person to see that Gwenant is still wounded, even if she's reticent to admit it and determined to keep moving.
Zak looks down at his abdomen, then back up at Spotty and gives a nod to him as well as a respectful nod over to Gwen as he remains at the ready by the door.

"Right this moment? No. We need to catch our breath and try to plan ahead. And make sure Zak's guts stay where they belong."

Zak: The hallway is quiet, except for some slight whimpering coming from one of the cells (you can tell its Meepo).
