Carlon is willing to stay behind if you wish, but will defer to any of you who wants to decide that. Nate, are you going with the searchers, or staying back to watch the cultists, or something else? And what do you want Carlon to do?
If Nate doesn't want to stay, Boar volunteers to (but she'll go along with them as she said before, if Nate wants to stay, not caring who she's paired with, trying to keep up with conversation, and awareness).
Elspeth would recommend that Boar stays, just in case, since Nate had recently ruffled the feathers of the cultists, it'll probably be best if he left them alone for a while.
Elspeth is right, Nate has ruffled the cultists feathers and they’re just going to be on high alert now if he’s around so he will join the others in the search. He tried to distract them but proved ineffective, and now he actually wouldn’t mind getting away from the caravan for a while in joining the searching.

Nate, Carlon doesn't really have much to add to the conversation with you. He agrees and suggests that waiting and watching might be the best approach, but he promises to help keep tabs on them. So far, he's not aware of them doing anything other than travelling with the caravan, but he will watch carefully.

You head into the forest with your respective partners. Initially, you attempt to keep a line of sight with the other pairs, but it proves difficult in the thick forest. However, you are near enough to hear each other.
Jalt, Elspeth and Nate, please make Perception checks as you search.
Boar will do wide circles of the caravan, even ducking into the woods, and when she's briefly out of sight of the caravan, she will (after ensuring there are animals around) cast speak with animals and ask birds and small mammals about what they've seen recently, anything scary, anything odd, and also offer food for any who would be interested in tailing the search party and returning to tell her what they're up to (for more food rewards).
She does one or two of these circuits shortly after the part sets off, regularly checking in with Lasfelro and Leda, and then spending some time again to help out the other members of the caravan with any repair jobs they're struggling with, etc.
Boar, you cast Speak With Animals and do find a bird to speak to you. It says there's nothing of great interest going on, and it's about to fly south for the winter any day now, it's just waiting for the rest of the birds to get ready. It thinks they take too long to prepare, and explains this at great length to you. The spell is close to running out, when the bird suddenly flinches at something that you did not see or perceive. Danger! it cries, as it takes off and flies as fast as it can... away from you, the caravan and the forest.
Elspeth, you and Carlon don't manage to find anything. Carlon is talking a bit, whispering in what he thinks is a low voice, but is loud enough to distract you from hearing much.
Nate, the first few minutes of the search go peacefully enough; Sulesdeg is quietly following your guidance, and though you and he have not spoken a huge amount, you've spent a fair amount of time in each others' company and have a certain amount of trust and respect between you. After a few minutes, you notice some birds flying off hurriedly, as though something had spooked them. It's not a huge number of birds, though, and not enough to catch Sulesdeg's attention.
Jalt, you are aware of Elspeth and Carlon over to your left, and Arietta and Achreny over to your right. You can't see them, but you can more or less hear them moving through the trees. You hear a snap from your right, and Zelina tenses. A few seconds later Arietta's voice comes to you. Don't worry! Just stepped on something! Several seconds pass, and then you also hear the sound of birds and small animals being spooked and racing away. Zelina looks at you curiously. What is it?
Can Boar hear the search party? Is it far enough out from departure that they'd be long gone, or is this soon enough that they're sort of close? If they're close, she'll call out "birds sense danger" but assuming not, she'll run back to Leda or Lasfelro and call out, "search party's in trouble, I'm going to help them back." She'll then go do that, listening for clues to guide her to the search party.
Jalt holds his hand out as he stops Something is spooking the animals. We have to be cautious and prepared. He grabs his war pick just in case in his hand as he tries to be aware of anything around them.

Boar, you know that they're gone. Not too long gone, and the area they're searching isn't massive. A loud cry might reach them or might not, and if you head further into the forest, there's a better chance you'll be heard.
Jalt, Zelina nods and is about to move on when Arietta's voice comes again, softly at first: Shit. Then more loudly. Achreny's slipped and twisted something. Jalt, can you come take a look?

Jalt, you push through the trees, Zelina following a short way behind. You are certain of the general area where Achreny and Arietta were searching, and take only half a minute to reach it.
You emerge into a very small area of clear ground between the trees. On the undergrowth below you, you see Achreny lying still, his head twisted at a horrible angle. And from behind, you hear the sound of steel being drawn.
Jalt, please roll initiative.
Nate, with your high perception roll, you hear Soar's voice - not clearly, just the word 'danger' carries through the trees.
Elspeth, you've heard nothing and are not aware anything is wrong.

Soar, you race through the trees; up ahead you see two figures. Nate, you now hear the sound of someone approaching at high speed: Sulesdeg draws his weapon and looks warily towards the source of the noise.
Nate starts to become a touch frantic as he can hear Soar's voice and the word "Danger". This "Danger" must've been what spooked the birds earlier Nate thinks to himself. In the next moment, Nate hears someone approaching at high speed and says to Sulesdeg "Prepare yourself, I think we're in trouble! Do do... do you see anything?"
"There's something dangerous in the woods, is everyone okay? Elspeth? Nate? Achreny? Jalt? Sulesdeg? Zelina? Arietta?" Boar is shouting as she runs. She loosens a javelin from her pack.
Nate, you hear Soar's words from the above post, clearly. Elspeth, you hear a voice, but you can't make out what it's saying. Jalt, you don't hear anything, but you're distracted...
