Alright, Nate is going to run forward and try and rip Soar out of the mound himself, or rip a hole in it so he can see her.
screw it
"AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH" He will run forward towards Mound 1, ending directly west of Soar. He then straightens his arms and his nails extend wolverine-esque as he literally tries to rip open the thing to get Soar out. (I know it's acid damage, but hoping with a solid roll you'll allow the flavor of this actually happening?!) Primal Savagery with advantage. Attack: 8 Damage: 10
If you'll accept it, if he does rip open the body enough to see Soar he will then cast healing word! Let me know if Nate does get a glimpse of her and I will roll for the heal. Actually I'll roll just incase so you have it. If Nate kills the thing he'd cast it anyhow as well. L2: 7
Wow, double nat ones. That's not something you see every day...
In his eagerness to get to Soar to rescue her, Nate rushes up, stumbles, catches himself, trips over a branch, just catches himself, and in the process flails ineffectively at the mound, which seems unaffected by the whole display.
Round Three: Nub Mound 2 Soar (unconscious and engulfed) Spider 1 and 2 Mound 1 Nate and Jalt
Nub casts slow on the two mounds, WIS 14 save. He then races forward, to the square just north of mound 1, and tries to find any opening where Soar might be extricated, readying his healing potion to feed to the dumb paladin should she get free.
This drops the flaming sphere, and the area goes dark (which is why he didn't cast it earlier, but he's hoping Nub and Nate being blind is worth the mounds being able to do less.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mound 1 WIS save: 3 Mound 2 WIS save: 12
The spell takes effect on Mound 1 (the one engulfing Soar)
Nub moves, but is unable to see any part of Soar, or anything much of anything, as the area is now completely dark.
Mound 2 is next to Nate, and attempts to engulf him. It seems unaffected by the darkness, and as Nate cannot see it, it has advantage on the attacks:
Attack: 22 Damage: 14 Attack: 13 Damage: 15
Both attacks slam into the druid. Nate, you feel the second attack grab hold of you and you are pulled inside the creature. You are now grappled, blinded, restrained and unable to breathe.

That's one failed death save on Soar's turn. The CON save will apply when the Mound takes its own turn.
The spiders continue to follow instructions, attacking the nearest mound, but they're smart fey creatures and Spider 1 moves to get a flanking attack. :)
Spider 1 attacks Mound 1:
Attack: 12 Damage: 8
Spider 2 attacks Mound 2:
Attack: 12 Damage: 5
Spider 1 misses unfortunately, but Spider 2 gets a bite into Mound 2.
With Mound 1's turn, the CON save, which was a fail, comes into effect. Soar takes bludgeoning damage, not enough to kill her outright, but it's a second failed death save. Not a crit, since it wasn't an 'attack' as such, but still that puts Soar on two failed saves.
Mound 1 is slowed. It makes a single attack on Spider 1:
Attack: 13 Damage: 16
And it misses. Spider 1 looks a little smug, for those who can see it.

Jalt sensing the impending doom with what's going on with Nate and Soar... rushes towards Mound 1, reaches out and casts Inflict Wounds lvl 2 Attack: 9 Damage: 30 and will uses Guided Strike to add 10 to attack roll
(Would Nub be able to use a readied potion to feed to Soar? Can't remember how we handle the action economy of feeding a potion with a bonus action, but he was readying it...)
Jalt shows utter frustration and points at Mound 1 once again but this time... ramps it up Guiding Bolt lvl 3 Attack: 25 Damage: 22
Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
"Ive heard it both ways."
It's a solid hit on Mound 1; as it trembles in response, you see the outline of Soar's shape held within.
Nate is up. Attacks on Mound 1 have advantage from Jalt's spell.
Can Nate heal Soar using healing word while she's inside the thing since you've mentioned he can see her outline in the plant monster?
Afraid not. You can see her shape in the mound's 'flesh', but you can't actually see any part of her.
Didn't think so.

Soar is up. Soar, please make a death saving throw and a separate CON saving throw.
I also need two separate concentration checks from Nate to keep the spiders.
Soar death save: 18
Soara CON save: 11

"Ive heard it both ways."
Mound 1 bursts open, destroyed, revealing a soggy, desperately injured Soar who crumples unmoving to the ground.

(Soar is alive but unconscious and bleeding out.)
Nate is up.
Jalt, literally the hero, wow!
(Would Nub be able to use a readied potion to feed to Soar? Can't remember how we handle the action economy of feeding a potion with a bonus action, but he was readying it...)
It would be an action on his turn, which is coming up.
Nate concentrations 20 11
Oh no!
Nate tries to escape! He tries to wriggle free using slight movements rather than strength.
acrobatics if you'll allow it as per escape grapple rule?
it's just +1 if it's STR 4
Acrobatics is fine, but that's still a fail, I'm afraid. Nate remains engulfed within the mound. Can you also please make a CON save for Nate.
Both concentration checks are fine, and the spiders are still out.
Nub is up.
