Tempest nods in agreement. "My message was only to prepare for a yuan-ti attack coming today. I was limited in the amount of information I could give." Kurrk pats Rawk on the head as only a father could and says, "I'll fly too high and too fast for them to see me. I will ensure the garrison can last until you arrive to reinforce." He leaps into the air and with powerful flaps of his wings quickly disappears above the canopy and continues to climb. Faelar steps leans in and says, "No more time to waste. Lead the way Rawk."You each spring to action and resume your rapid pace. Thanks to Rawk's scouting you are able to avoid the numerous hazards of the jungle and successfully approach from the eastern flank. Your approach comes from a slightly elevated plateau that slowly descends into a river valley. As you near the village the jungle foliage begins to dissipate and you catch glimpses of the wooden palisade that surrounds the village roughly a mile ahead. The yuan-ti army is no where to be seen from this angle but you know they are close by. As you get within a half-mile of the village the landscape becomes a bit clearer and you see smoke billowing from the southwest corner of the village. You see the shapes of several creatures outside the walls and hear the shouts of battle and screams across the air.
Faelar jogs up towards you and asks, "We can attack head on, try to sneak into the village to defend behind the walls or divide our forces on each side of the village and attack both flanks. What do you suggest?"
Darion frowns "I think dividing our forces would not make much sense. Sneaking inside sounds attractive, but..." Darion shakes his head worriedly "if luck is not with us, and the Yuan-ti see us, it could be disastrous if they attack us when vulnerable. Whereas now, they are focussed on their attack, and this gives us the element of surprise. We may never get another opportunity like this, perhaps it is worth the risk of launching a direct attack..."
Erro grips his sword, looking out over the scene. Defending behind the walls sounded like a good idea, but there were many men to hide, and besides, what they wanted was to end this menace, not to simply drive them back to fight another day. “If Darion is not trusting in his luck then I won’t either. I agree, let’s hit them head on with our surprise attack and finish this. In their history have they ever been on the receiving end of a charge like this? They are tormentors and not soldiers, we’ll send them into disarray!” Erro says impetuously. Who knows what machinations they had employed over at Dom-Eko? Best to not give them time to react.
Ellis simply nodded back, thinking that attacking head on would be the best choice while the Yuan-ti are distracted. "Yeah, let's attack them quickly while they are distracted." he then said back to everyone in agreement.
Rawk agrees and looks at Tempest as an idea pops into her head. “Can you still transform into a big bear? If I carry you over the front line and land is behind them the two of us may be able to break their formation when they see us charge. It would at least cause a distraction. What do y’all think?” She chirps.
Tempest looks at Rawk with mixed emotions. A hopeful smile comes across his face and he replies, "I suppose if I'm going back into battle it might as well be head first. It would certainly distract me if I were to see such a thing." he raises his arms ready to be picked up by the beautiful avian woman and determined to fight for the lives of those around him. "The shamans and I have a trick up our sleeve as well. When we're in range we'll each cast our plant growth spell and hedge the yuan-ti in to separate their forces." Tempest adds with a nod to Faelar as he's picked up into the air. "We'll see you on the battlefield." he says hovering 20 feet above the ground now and the duo climb higher and higher above the army that gathers on the edge of a clearing. You hear a horn blow from within the army group and a chanting begins that turns into a charging battle cry. You race forward towards the yuan-ti forces that turn towards the rumbling army that grows ever closer. As you get within 300 feet of the yuan-ti army you see their ranks formed in a line that stretches out from the walls of the village of Dom-Eko. The savage looking broodlings snarl and bite at the air waiting to attack while yuan-ti holding swords, spears or snake arms wait eagerly to get in range. You hear the cheers from the villagers within the walls as the sound of your army's charge resounds through the air and see Kurrk soaring overhead linking up with Rawk and Tempest above the yuan-ti. Arrows begin to whistle past you striking into the ground and soldiers around you fall in agony. 240 feet, a second volley of arrows whistles over your heads impacting the large body of soldiers behind you. 180 feet away and you see another volley of arrows overhead that lands taking out more soldiers. The cries of injured and dying soldiers begins to mingle with the rumble and shouts of the combined armies.

I need everyone to roll initiative! I also need a few volunteers. One will roll 4 d12 for the yuan-ti army, one will roll 2 d10 for the Dom-Eko army, and the third will roll 3 d10 for the Dom-Gar army each round in addition to their normal post.
((Apologies for long delay - unfortunate side effect of children being back at school is we are now getting all the normal playground colds that have built up over a year - had a terrible case of man-flu thanks to the littlest foof-sprog))
Dom-Eko: 10
Darion initiative: 20
Darion watches Rawk and Tempest hurl themselves towards the Yuan-ti "Well, that would bloody terrify me!" he mutters under his breath "May Tymora bless you. Bless us all! And Mystra, let my spells fly true!"
Darion charges forward with the army, looking for the greatest concentration of enemy soldiers.
(excellent rolls for the good guys. Darion, Ellis and Erro- you are 120 ft away from the front at the top of the round. Rawk- let me know where you want to be positioned above the yuan-ti army to drop in and I'll update the map.)
The yuan-ti ranks prepare for the incoming charge and release another volley. Unfortunately for them they misjudge their aim and the majority of the arrows fall short of their targets. A few soldiers leading the charge fall to the ground but the large mass surges toward the yuan-ti line. The archers slow their pace and move to draw their arrows for the first volley while the rest sprint forward. Darion searches for a perfect target group but can't make out the full layout of the yuan-ti army due to the soldiers and large tree ahead of him that block his line of sight. The single large tree stands between the two armies peppered with arrows and the soldiers begin to spread out as they prepare to move around it. To the south the Dom-Eko army rallies and the wall holds firm.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Darion curses under his breath, unable to get a good view, he calls to Robyn, getting her to circle upwards in the sky to get a birds-eye view of what is happening. He will move forward with the force, but slow down, hanging back (I assume the army is doing a dash action to close, which means it should get there roughly end of next turn?) He turns to Ellis "When the troops close the distance, we should try and cause the maximum chaos I think, give the Yuan-ti as little time to prepare as possible - I'll launch a fireball to the right a little just before there is contact. Can you disrupt thing on the left at all?"
He will then look through Robyn's eyes, trying to get the lay of the battle - and see if he can see Fenthasa or the poisoner chap (I think Darion met him, been so long I can't remember!).
Ellis was thinking of how he can help when he heard Darion, surprised. Then he looked at how far they were from the Yuan-ti army as he thought about one spell, only to remember that these are Yuan-ti and even those things with them are probably not human anymore either so it might not work. "Uh, yeah I think I can do something to help." Ellis said back, nodding and thinking of other possibilities.
Rawk will guide Kurrk and Tempest to the yuan-ti grouped closer to the wall.
(Straight down from that right tree inside the walls, i think that's a tree. Just past the second yuan-ti. Will we have an action this turn or just dropping in?)
Either way Rawk will rage and tell her father to stay in the air and call out any strategic points to take advantage of and to watch their backs.
Erro will continue to charge along with the army unless there’s anything else that can be done this turn. He prepares to potentially find a way to join up with Tempest and Rawk should they get in trouble.
(@Darion- Correct, the front of the army group will reach the front of the yuan-ti army at the end of next turn. You, Erro and Ellis will be between 70-80 feet of the front lines.) @Rawk- you will have to descend this turn and part of next turn.)
Darion- Robyn searches through the crowd of yuan-ti but is unable to pinpoint either Fenthasa or the poisoner. You do spot a pair of rudimentary catapults being constructed to the south of the yuan-ti army.
The Dom-gar army surges forward through another volley of arrows while Rawk, Kurrk and Tempest begin their descent towards the yuan-ti. (Let me know if that's where you wanted to be.) Tempest looks out over the vast array of yuan-ti and casts Plant Growth creating a weaving hedge in between the yuan-ti ranks and compartmentalizing them into groups. (Yellow lines) The Dom-gar archers slow to a halt lifting their bows to release their first volley and manage to take out two of the broodlings. A second volley from behind the Dom-Eko walls peppers the yuan-ti forces but doesn't manage to cause any casualties. The great battle between the free villages and the yuan-ti has finally begun.
Everyone!(Don't forget to roll for each army group.)
