Rillex climbs up Nadaars arm and lays down in his hood again. The creature has a clear look of concern on its face but still purrs loudly when snuggled up in his hood. When Alvin's corpse comes into view the Tressym hisses angrily at it, though there's obviously no reaction from the dead man.
Once the room is properly searched and the party elects to push ahead you all let Nadia lead you through the remainder of the tunnel. The trip is short lived, as almost immediately the party is met with a similar set of stone doors, identical to the ones Zack tried to open earlier in everyway but one. This door has a circular section of stone cut out of it in the center. Based on the size and shape it looks like the bit of stone Zack found should fit right in.
Zack just sighed a bit at that mention, eyes closing as Nadaar didn't realize how mildly insensitive his comment was. I'm fully aware of that Nadaar. Thus why she's dead.he just barely managed to keep his tone level at that, but continued. But I get what you were trying to say. And it's good that you feel good enough to continue. So lets do this shall we? he clearly was less upset, and more "Nadaars gonna Nadaar." about the situation.
And finally, as the group moved forward, following Nadia's lead, and making sure Light still remained on his weapon. And upon seeing the circular hole, would look to the others and say I found a thing on the guy that might be just for that. But again... Just in case... all of you back up. This time all the way down the tunnel, and we'll see what happens.
This time, he didn't bother checking for traps, instead, he waited until everyone had complied with his request, and then, put the necromantic circle object in the hole, facing inward instead of outward.
Zack places the skull seal into the stone doors. It quickly locks into place and almost looks like it has always been there. A loud *Thunk* is heard and one of the doors comes loose. The rest of the party who have moved to a safe distance might briefly confuse the sound with another impending collapse but no such thing occurs.
When Zack (or someone else) opens the door they find a dark room with several raised tombs and intricate stone work. This is clearly a crypt of some sort though who built it and when is a mystery. On the far back wall Grim faced statue watches over the six tombs. Closer to the door is a smaller statue that appears to have words carved into it, though from this distance its illegible.

Nadia remains silent as the two banter, only shaking her head to herself with a frown visible on her face. Thankfully, it was cut short at the wanting to move on, but had it lasted longer she would have definitely intervened. Gotta put those two in a 'get along' shirt one of these days...She tells herself mentally as she guided them forward, only for that to be also cut short with the door in front of them. With Zack's word, she listens and stays back, however, at the noises, worry ran itself through her mind again, expecting another collapse... but it never came.
She breathed a sigh in relief and rejoined with the fighter at the door. "Half expected another cave in. Trust me, you look much better when rocks aren't on top of you," The elf gives a small laugh before continuing on, her gaze going to the door. "I'm gonna assume this is where the big bad guy is... so when we go in there we all gotta stay vigilant. I'll lead if you want me to, but I think it might be better for you to go first, Zack." She pauses and looks to the fighter. "And I'll give you a little edge... since we're dealing with a lot of undead..."
As to not be too lovey-dovey in front of their comrades, she simply raises a free hand to cup at his scarred cheek, her hand glowing as dim green light washed over him. She smiled up at him. "We got this, yeah?"
Once he opened the door and they began to make their way through, Nadia keeps her eyes out. Had there been nothing of interest, she moves a bit closer to the carving on the statue and attempts to read it aloud, if possible.

Zack could only laugh mirthlessly at Nadia's comment when she finally rejoined him. Me too. That's why I had you all go farther back. That way we'd on'y be down one instead of all. But I am glad it didn't happen. And I agree... he said leaning in. I prefer smaller, tighter spaces to be on top of me~ accentuating it with a wink but ceasing the flirting there for much the same reason Nadia did. Looking into that darkness then as she continued her commentary And yeah. I didn't intend to let anyone else go first... Except maybe Angar he said teasingly before she finishes and he feels her hand on his cheek. The warmth felt nice, even if it was only faint. and he felt some strange power wash into his bones and revitalize his spirit on some way.
He nodded with a soft grunt. We do indeed. he took a deep breath, and let it out quicky, drawing his weapon that was freshly alight from his spell, and faced forward wit hit, torch-light levels in fornt of him. And with that, he stepped in, readying to Defend to block an incoming attack with his weapon instead of dodging out of the way and letting it hit someone behind him. For all of his steadfastness about proceeding forward, Nadaar actually willing hangs back by the entrance once finally given the all clear. Ultimately he shook his head upon recalling not one sliver of memory of tied history. "Hmm... There... appears to be writing over there." He points to the smaller statue.
"I'm going to have a look and see what I might discern. Try not to--" The words catch in his throat. "... Watch my back, if you would. I should only be a moment. A little earlier: While Zack is checking the door, Angar notices the staff Nadaar has been using to prop himself up. You hear a mumbled hmm? You think? Ok I'll ask. Sir Nadaar, if would, I would like to see that staff. This belonged to Alvin did it not? Angar waits for a response before taking the staff and sitting down with it. He lays it down before him and touches it while muttering a few words. I see. This staff works similar to Yoric. It's a fairly simple tool really. Just strike your foes and the magic in the staff will draw out their life energy. I've always found Yoric to be a capable weapon, you might find the same. Though you may also find you get strange looks in town like myself. But I guess you are used to that.
Before anything else can be said Zack has opened the door and Nadia is rushing over to him. Angar stands up and returns the staff to you before joining the others. Angar takes a quick peek into the next room before turning to the group. Seeing Nadias spell, Angar speaks to Yoric briefly before nodding seemingly in agreement. I think it's clear we are now entering a much more dangerous area. Before we move forward, we should do all we can to make sure we are ready to face whatever threats lie before us. Lady Nadia, Sir Nadaar, if you would, He beckons you both to come closer as he casts a protective ward on each of you. As Lady Nadia is no doubt aware, this should protect you both from undead. Sir Zack, if you would, I have a spell that will bolster your strength. Angar starts to cast another spell to help the group. If spurned by Zack he will offer it to Nadaar or Nadia instead. (Plus 6 for the next hour. Also whoops, for got protection is concentration so only one of you can gain the benefit from it. He would offer to Nadaar first due to injuries. Cant edit without being labeled evil dice roller so yall decide.)
As you all step in and get a look at the room proper, Nadias eyes, as are most, immediately drawn to the large statue. The statue is old and worn, and from the entrance of the room, even with light, it appears as just a large stone blob to everyone else.To Nadia, the statue is quite clear, albeit very damaged. Still she can make out enough to recognize the statue as depicting an elven warrior. It's hard to see, but she can make out what would have clearly been armor and a sword carved into the rock thousands of years ago. While not a student of history, and not knowing as much about elven culture as she would like, it's clear to her that this ruin is of elven decent, and very very old. Who built it, why, and when, is unkown and likely lost to history.
Amgar and Nadaar walk over to smaller stone slab that looks over the stone tombs. The script itself appears to be very faded and is almost illegible. Nadaar is able to recognize it as elvish though he can't read it. Nadia, if she were asked to look, is able to read it but regardless if she does or not Angar places a hand on the stone and he casts an incantation of Understanding. Redgardless if who translates the text, it reads as follows.
Here lie the Honored dead, the most beloved of the House Guard, who died in service to their Master. May Corellon accept their souls by his side.

Zack, who goes a bit further into the room, utilizes his light to help see in this dark, ancient room. Unlike Nadia, whose eyes are drawn to the statue, or Nadaar and Angar, who are drawn to the other carved stone, Zacks eyes are drawn to the tombs. There are 6 in all, lying in a row, made of solid carved stone that's clearly worn out. However it's not the stone work that got Zacks attention, but rather the smell of decay, and the fact that four of the tombs appear to have been opened.
From the North end of the room, Zack catches a glimpse of something moving and moves to shine his light in its direction. Rising from off the ground are four water logged corpses dressed in armor and wielding longswords. In the dark it's hard for Nadaar, Zack and Angar to tell exactly what they are dealing with, but its obvious enough that they are undead of some sort. Nadia however has sharp eyes, and can tell that these are undead soldiers. Human ones, not elven, they did not come from these tombs. She also can tell that these corpses seem, relatively speaking given the surroundings, fresh, having likely spent some time soaking in the swamp outside. However, perhaps the most disturbing thing for Nadia is the soldiers uniforms. If Zack were to get closer, he too might recognize the uniform, as he once wore the same kind, these were soldiers from Daggerford. In this moment, how long they've been dead or how they got here is unkown and unimportant as the start to move forward to engage the party. To Nadia that uniform is something she can never forget or mistake, though what the ramifications of that information may be is not known to her.
The four undead soldiers stand up with weapons drawn, and start to move to engage! (Map and initiative orders on follow up post)

Whether it was spoken out loud or not, he would only be interested in the carving once he was sure the room itself was safe. However, eyes ever on the lookout for threats since this place had proven they can come form anywhere. He kept an eye on the tombs until eventually, the glint of metal reflecting the light his weapon was shedding, caught his focus, stepping forward, he'd eventually get close enough to see the armor, the insignias... And in that moment of distraction, he saw they had begun to move towards the group, from there, he'd kick into gear much quicker than he usually did, trying to cut them off by distracting them with fresh meat.
Zack moves directly between the tombs, inevitably pinning himself between the last pair, kitty-corner to 3 and 4. Trying to draw them in to himself, and wanting them to trap themselves as well, Zack strikes out at 3, blue flame emanating from his weapon, likely momentarily brightening the area just a bit, and even as he strikes, he tries to see if he recognizes the soldiers.. or their rank, or perhaps where they had been stationed based on their medals and other marks.
His blade swinging like a lawnmower just over the tombs.

Nadia stays just a moment longer when Angar beckons her over, listening to his request only for her to shake her head. "Yeah, it's best you have that extra protection than me, Nadaar. You're already hurt, not to mention I'm usually at a distance, so it'd be a spell wasted on me." She also raises a finger to stop the Dragonborn had he wanted to argue/decline the offer at all, saying; "And you're taking the spell whether you want it or not, mister." (If he takes it with no issue then she simply nods and moves behind Zack).
With her string taut with an arrow in hand she slowly moves into the area, her eyes having mainly focused on the large statue. Her brows furrow at her lack of knowledge of who it was depicted, only to assume it might have been Corellon as stated on the slab. The state of the statue itself gave away to her that this place might have been a few decades old, and the fact that someone had been in here to desecrate it... made her blood boil with anger.
When she hears and sees the movement in the area to the north, her aim automatically goes to one of the rising corpses. She hesitates at the sight of the uniforms, taking a glance at Zack who had already been making a move towards them with more drive than normal. There are no words to say, and she focuses her sights on the zombies now, knocking back two arrows to give the fighter backup.
Attack 1 on 2:24 Damage: 12 Attack 2 on 2:17 Damage: 12 Bonus action: Slayers Prey on 2 - Bonus Damage: 3
When the Zombies step forward Nadaar targets one with magical words that bore deep into its head. Unfortunately the zombie seems to have resisted the affect more or less and continues to go forward. (Half damage for 5 dam to #3)
Zack walks up to the same zombie, albeit unbeknownst to him it was the same Zombie that was just targeted, and slashes it across the chest with his blade. The blue fire singes the corpse and follows the path of the blade, jumping to the adjacent enemy which is engulfed in blue flame for a brief moment. Zack notices that the fire from his blade seems to be having little affect on the corpses. Like trying to burn a log that's soaked through, these waterlogged corpses are resisting the fire. Now closer to the enemy, Zack is able to recognize the old armor and uniform that he once wore. The faces of the dead are unfamiliar to him, but he recognizes the insignia on the armor that indicated these men were once part of the Infantry. It's possible that they were sent out here on a mission and met their end, given their waterlogged state.
As Zack is thinking to himself two arrows strike Zombie #2, one in the chest and the next in the head. The Zombie drips its weapon and stumbles back before falling backwards to the ground. Angar, deciding to stay back this time, points Yoric toward one of the uninjured zombies and first a ray of frost which strikes the corpse dead center. The cold starts to freeze the water inside the zombie, slowing its movements considerably.
The zombie Zack had slashed makes two wild swings at the fighter with it's own blade, the first being easily deflected and the other being so sloppy it gave Zack an easy opening for a counter attack. Swinging his sword up he deflects the zombies blade up in the air, and then he follows up by driving the hefty edge of the blade straight down of the zombie. His buster sword cuts deep, going from shoulder to about halfway down its chest. The zombie slips off the blade and slumps to the ground unmoving. From behind his Zack feels a blade stab into his back, just missing the armor. While not the most painful, or even biggest cut he's ever recieved, it still reminds him of the other enemies around him. Zack turns to face zombie 4 as it goes for another strike, but this time Zack is ready and parries the blow.
The offer from Angar is met with no complaint from the Dragonborn. In fact, nadaar's one good eyed widen at it before with a curt nod, he handed it over. "I am Stranger in a strange land, Mr. Angar. So, forgive me if I find it unlikely that the people of them won't already expect strangeness from me." Nadaar cracks a wiry grin as he gestures to the makeshift eye patch.
Still eager to investigate, but given pause at the offer, it indeed looked as if he might say something at the very least. Nadia's impassioned interjection stopped him short, but not so wholly that he didn't eventually get out a, "You are neither Mother or Clan Leader... But, I will respect your wishes." With a nod then given to Angar, and the confidence of the ward in place, Nadaar soon found himself rushing up to one Zombie after having flubbed the wording of a spell, and taking his chances cracking skulls versus skulls.
Nadaar pushes up to Zombie #1 with intent to bludgeon the beast to death with Alvin's own weapon. Unfortunately this type of weapon is clumsy and unfamiliar to Nadaar, so he fails to put enough strength behind the blow. The skulls strike the zombies worn armor and simply bounce off with a loud clang. In retaliation the undead soldier makes two swings at Nadaar with it's long sword, the first cutting into Nadaars arm and the other only missing by mere inches. Despite Angars protection, it seems Hlal is determined to get a laugh in at the Dragonborns expense.

Zack heard the familiar thunk of a body striking the floor, immediately after the familiar wind-whistle of a pair of arrows. Seeing that his flames were of little effect, he chose to change tactics. At the same time he wondered why these infantry might have been sent out here... patrol? To quell this necromancer? Or something else? Maintaining his focus even as thoughts whirled through his mind, he says Good job Nadia, proud of you. almost at the same time that Nadaar misses his own target.
Just as Zack is doing so, he feels the strike against his back, but he managed to blow off most of the damage, before the blade even cuts him, and though damage is done, no damage is visible on his flesh. Having turned around, to face his assailant, zack brings the blade down in a unique strike, trying to drag the entire blade along the Ghouls face in the same way one would saw through a log, but instead of fire, that booming wind began to reverberate across the blades edge.
Attack: 22 Damage: 11 + 4 Thunder
If his new target fell, he'd whirl to face the prior.
Her arrows strike true and bring down the zombie with little to no issues, and her attention briefly diverted to Zack's praise. The ranger manages a small smile and a, "Thanks!" before he lands a sickening blow on the enemy nearest to him. "... Proud of you too!" She gets out as she looks over to the zombie Nadaar and Angar were working on, deciding to give them a little help...
Attack 1 on 1:13 Damage: 10 Attack 2 on 1:21 Damage: 10 Bonus action: Moving Slayers Prey on 1 - Bonus Damage: 6
(Shifting attacks on the Zombo that Zack was gonna hit as discussed in discord)
When Zack turns to face this new enemy, the stench of decay starts to hit him. While no stranger to the stench, even Zack as his limits. Coupled with the earlier sight of Nadaars injuries, Zack feels his stomach start to churn again as he becomes sick. As Zack goes to attack the zombie the contents of his stomach catch up to him and he involuntarily stops the attack to keel over as he vomits.
When Nadia sees Zack stop his attack and start wrenching, she instinctively shifts her focus back to the zombie in front of his. Unfortunately in her haste, the first arrow narrowly misses the zombie and shatters on the back wall. The second arrow thankfully strikes as accurately as one could hope for, lodging deep into the soldiers neck. The arrow is quickly followed up with a blast of freezing magic from Angar who is still close to Nadia. The magic starts freezing the waterlogged corpse to slow it down. Zombie 4 looks to be ready to drop, though it still has enough life in it to attack the puking Zack. Luckily for his however the first attack is way off the mark, and the second one is so slow that it was easily avoided even in Zacks wretched state.
Nadaar too finds himself getting a big whiff of decay. Hearing Zack puke doesn't help the matter either. Nadaar starts to feel I'll and before he can even try to attack the undead soldier he finds him self having to lean on the nearby wall to vomit as he too becomes sick. Whole Nadaar is wrenching on the nearby wall the undead take advantage of this distraction to attack! The first attack catches Nadaar off guard as another cut is added to his collection. The second attack is blocked by Nadaars armor preventing any more additions just yet.

Nadia winces at the sound of the boys retching, giving a small look over to Angar as if to say 'Glad we're over here than over there' before raising her bow again to finish off the zombie next to Zack.

Zack attempts the same maneuver as earlier but finds he is still a bit weakened from the puking. He sword missed and merely strikes the stone of the nearby tomb. Before the Zombie soldier can do anything in return an arrow strikes the creature in the head. The zombie falls over in its side having been killed once more. Nadia then shifts her focus on the final zombie, loosing another arrow. However Nadai still seems to have some trouble hitting targets when changing her aim last moment as this arrow goes wide and strikes nothing but stone. Angar changed his focus to the final zombie as well and cast another frost beam. At this point Angar is fed up with the undead here, and he pours all his energy into a deadly blast. A much larger frost ray slams into the zombie causing a blast that even gives Nadaar chills. The zombie is near frozen solid from the chill, though it can still move, it'll likely be easier to kill. (Vulnerability on the next damage taken)
Unfortunately for Nadaar his stomach isn't quite as strong as Zacks, as he finds he is unable to make any meaningful actions and is reduced to retching on the wall. The near frozen zombie manages to make two snow attacks. Thankfully the attacks are ineffective and Nadaar is unharmed.

Nadia: 18 Nadaar: 4 Zack 21 Angar 16
1: 3 2: 4 3: 14 4: 13
Order is Zack, Nadia, Angar, Zombie 3, Zombie 4, Nadaar, Zombie 2, Zombie 1.

Zack does the same thing again to the same target.
