The halfling looks at Torus a bit curiously as the voice speaks in his head but he nods quietly. Dondon Tiggerwillies! Of the Tiggerwillies of Calimport! The halfling introduces himself with more than a little pride. Almost on que his stomach rumbles and he says Ah.....um about that. I didn't have time to take any food with me. If you have some food to spare....
Torsus was clearly not happy with the idea of the halfling being with them either, yet if the worst crime he had committed was sleeping with another mans wife... it could be bearable. Mentally speaking to Narz then as he cracks one of his rations boxes open and passively hands it to the halfling. Narz, do you possess spells or perhaps a natural inborn talent of the eye to discern? If so, later I may be able to abscond with his dagger for such an inspection. I don't believe he'll be of any harm, but he is clearly another type of trouble. If you would assist me in this my mages hand could be employed later during a shared watch. he continued acting as though he were simply eating whatever his own ration was (barring Narz volunteering to cook it up if he had some special skills in that regard)
And I'd ask you to keep your tigers Willie in your pants sir. We have the fairer sex with us and you were accused of such things.
Dondon accepts the food with a thanks and eagerly eats it. In response to Torus's accusation he seems to give Aeyd and Claire an appraising looking before saying Meh, not my type these two. I prefer women who don't look like they could kill me if I made them angry. Eitherway thanks again for the food. I'd say we can be in Waterdeep by midday! If you need a place to stay I can set you all up with free room and board at the Silver Ante. Its not luxurious mind you but its better than most. Just think of it as a little extra thank you for saving my hide back there!
Narz knew a number of magics to punish the mind and will. He however knew few of such that allowed one to speak to the mind, and had not seen or heard Torsus implement any to have done so. And yet, there was no denying he heard correctly, and had admittedly even been a little startled by the unsolicited communication. Although rather than provide some signs of an answer to the tortle, the goblinoid appeared even more preoccupied than before with deep thoughts about something or other.
Did Torsus ever mentioned being capable to speak to the mind? Or was this some odd trick of the halfling to instigate conflict among the group?
Ultimately after a few minutes, he shook his head, deciding to dismiss the whole matter for the time being. When there was time later he would interrogate speak to Torsus in private about the ability, and perhaps ask more frankly how he came to possess his magic. For even if truly internal in some way, surely the old Tortle had some clue into its origin points.
"We'll be sure to keep at there SIlver Ante in mind. Tho' respectfully, if you have friends there that also may or may not have a particular bone to pick with you. I would hope you do not take it personal if and or when we do go to this Inn for any temporary lodging." He admits.
(Unless DM says otherwise, the GoO locks telepathic thing is only one way)
Torsus grunted disapprovingly at the halfling's opinion of the women, thinking he'd bed either of them if he were younger, or wasn't afflicted in the way he was. Not that he'd ever try even then atleast not with them. He slowly munched on his food, clearly in no rush to eat. Admiring the area around them while he could since he'd likely never see it again. However, breathign in heavily once his meal was done, waiting for everyone else ot if somehow one was a slower eater than he was before gathering what he couldn't sleep with attached, and re-strapping it back on or repacking it as necessary. Mounting his little pony before looking to the others and saying Well, shall we be going? I am quite ready to see just how tough our quarry is when we get to our destination. he said, making sure to leave out enough key details that the halfling couldn't pick up on what specifically he was referring to, but just in case, he mentally reminds those nearby
I still don't trust him to not rob us, or perhaps lead us into an ambush so I would like one of you.. Claire... if possible, to keep track of him.. trail a bit behind wherever he is. And keep your eyes on him during watches, as much as possible if somehow we should find ourselves sharing a camp. he says even as he puts his own coinpurse within his shell just below his chin.. just in case. As wel las stowing his more valuable possessions within the rim, such as his rod. His ring and dart were already safely tucked away or on his finger.
Vigo grumbled, but at a look from Narz, shaped up quick and stood ready for the journey ahead. When again Torsus, or what he assumed to be Torsus and again not some other entity worming its way into his head, spoke Narz tenses up, frowned, and then again shook his head in dismissal of it. Again, now was not the time for sidebars and questioning of anyone at the moment. Not yet. But again, at watch -- which he would pointedly for one eve make sure he shared with Torsus just to put some concerns to rest.
Until then, Narz caved into paranoia and peer pressure by having Spaz ride along in the cart with the halfling, keeping an idle eye on as the group continued the next leg of their journey.

Dondon sits in the back of the cart eagerly eating away the ration as the party begins to move north. Despite both Torsus's lack of trust and Rollos not so veiled threat the halfling seems to be quite relaxed and not long into the journey he seems to fall asleep. Despite rather loud snoring any attempts to pilfer items from his person are met with him waving off the intrusion leaving one to wonder if he's really asleep or just used to people trying to take things from him in his sleep. Eitherway the journey to Waterdeep is mostly quiet and peaceful, its only when you are a few miles from the city that Dondon wakes up with a loud yawn and a stretch. Aaahhh. Nothing like a good nap. That was what maybe 10 or 11 hours? Could have done for more but seems we are there! You folks picked a good time to visit the city too. The cold guarantees all the inns are packed full and full ins means drunk patrons. Nothing like a good bar fight to pass the time, plus no one ever notices a few missing gold pieces when their deep into their cups, uh not that I would ever steal anything that is. By the way, you're not planning to stick around long are ya? You'll need to register with a magister if you're staying a tenday or more and I'd rather we didn't.
As the city comes into view you're greater by an absolutely massive cityscape with tall towers and statues dotted all over. The walls are tall and heavily guarded and a patrol of Griffins can be seeing flying over the cities many wards. As you get close enough to see the city gates just ahead you see that the gates are closed, a few guards stand outside the gate while several patrol the walls above. Upon seeing the gate closed Dondon says Well...crap. Guess its that time of year. Best not to mention me. The halfling touches his dagger and suddenly goes invisible. Almost immediately he follows up by saying Don't worry not running off, just don't feel like being here several hours. Gates are closed in the winter, they were open just a few days ago but. He gives an unseen shrug.
Aeyd was unsure if she should punch this halfing now or later when he did something that truly did call for a well deserved knuckle sandwich. Eventually though, they decide against it, but that didn't mean it wouldn't happen. With Rollo's threat, she hopes it instilled some fear within him, even if he looked to be playing it off well. She makes sure that her coin pouch is secure and her jewelry is unsnatchable as they continue their way.
Upon their arrival to the city, the elf could be seen with a small smile dancing at the corners of her lips. "Didn't think I'd come back here so soon..." She would say quietly to herself. Her brow would crease though at the sight of the closed gates, then one would raise when Dondon would turn invisible again. "... Are you a wanted man here too?" Just who the hells did they have travelling with them?

Narz quirks a brow at the mention of 'we' and 'staying a tenday' in the same distance, but held back a comment on the matter. At least for the time being. As the group came upon Waterdeep outer walls Narz couldn't help but marvel at the size and feat of engineering that had to have gone into the endeavor. '"All of it is but pudding before the monster that is betrayal." He muttered darkly to himself and with head bowed in frustration. He is soon drawn from his own grim thoughts at the halfligns words. From the cart the disembodied voice of Dondon yells out indignantly I would never sleep with the wife of a Magister! They are took old for me. And in not wanted perse...though I'm sure they'd like to question me. I'm not in the mood to entertain their questions today. Let's just get in and to the Silver Ante.
As you approach the gate you find there's very little traffic which thankfully means less waiting around in the cold. After a brief wait you are waved up and approach a guard and a older human male in a black robe. Welcome to the city of Waterdeep. My name is Magister Brennan. If this is your first time to the city then let me assure you this is all come practice. Normally small groups like you wouldn't need to register unless you planned on a long stay but these are dangerous times. So, let's get this done quick. What are your names, and how long do you plan on staying in our fair city?
For the first time, anyone who happened to see Torsus heading into town (or at-least towards the outer gates) riding on his pony, would likely stick a feather in their hat at the sight. The tortle seemed wonder-struck and in sheer awe. Despite all of his travels, he had never been to, let alone near a city so grand in at-least appearances that he looked like a child gazing upon the ocean for the first time, lost in the endless curiosity of youth, his eyes even sparkling just a bit with his jaw low as he exhaled slowly. he seemed to remain in that state for a long time before Aeyd's words snap him out of it and he takes stock of the situation.
At times like these, Torsus was glad he could speak to others minds, so as to ask questions that he may not wish others to hear. I forget, why are we in Waterdeep again? It's so beautiful but I .. forgot our purpose for the sojourn to this location, is it the only way to our true destination or was there something else? he projected to all but the halfling even as they continued towards the closed gates.
Claire stares wide eyed at the city scape, and then wide eyed at Aeyd when she quietly mentions 'returning.' In a voice equally quiet, as if it might be a secret, Claire speaks to the monk. "You've been here before?"
The Cleric simply rolls her eyes at halfling. "I don't personally care how you do or don't cross into the city, but if you're going to sneak in, it won't be with our assistance. Climb the wall or slink by on foot, but I won't have you jeper...jepi... uhh.. jep....mmm... jeopardizing the safety of the rest of us. Begone for now, and we shall meet within."
To Torsus, through telepathy if we can talk back: "I believe we are passing through to head to a town north of here. Dropping off Rillex, and then investigating the Giant attacks... or were we supposed to leave Rillex here in waterdeep... uh..." Claire squints, trying to recall.
To the Magister: "Claire Arrensfeld, healer and beacon of li- ...er. Ahm... just Claire Arrensfeld. Passing through, though we may stay a few days to stock up on supplies and prepare further for our ensuing journey."
Rollo just rides slowly alongside the wagon watching for any signs of things being moved that shouldn't be by someone invisible. He looks down to the Magistar. "Rollo, son of Ragnar."

At Claire's inquiry, a smile dances at the corners of Aeyd's lips. "Yes, I have, actually. I came here trying to look for some answers on the giant problem. I ended up falling into Lord Bladesemmer's services, which is how I ended up with you all."
When it was her turn to speak, she straightens her back and states, "Aeyd. We are here for just what Claire says"

Responding telepathically was indeed possible, so long as Torsus allowed it which he always would in a situation where he spoke to you first, barring very unlikely circumstances where he didn't trust you at all. Finally snapping to, he looks to the magister an says as he pets his pony Ah, ahem, sorry. I'm rather old and was lost in my wonder of the city.. I have.. never been here before. But I believe as Claire said, we will only be here momentarily as we pass through unfortunately, barrins some unforseen circumstance, our goal is to deal with the giants ravishing... I mean... ravaging the lands. Perhaps you could help speed it along though..? Where would basic supplies be found, as well as other similar supplies so we can hasten our departure?
Narz is still steadfastly choosing to avoid responding to the telepathic message. And if it was possible to block them by being unwilling, then at the slightest nudging of the power, he puts up a mental defense against it until there was a more appropriate setting to speak on the subject. Otherwise, everytime the 'voice' is sent his way, the hobgoblin face tended to twitch at the initiating incident as if irritated by something. Spaz at least notices this, and after flying over and onto a shoulder, bats at the hobgoblin's ear a bit until he sat up straighter in his saddle and finally responded to the Magister. "Name's Narz." He states, politely and to the point.
He tries to keep a flat veneer, and even temporarily let go of the reigns as to avoid appearing threatening in any ways. For while the city of splendor may be something of a metroplis, no goblinoid was foolish enough to think the hospitality of such beacons extended to them without some added layer of scrutiny. Yet like back in Daggerford, he would not mask his appearance in any way, least it spelled trouble later down the line anyways.
The magister takes down the names and gives both Marz and Torsus's a curious look. Still, ever the professional he finishes up his paperwork and hands a copy over to Ayed. This is your registery form. It simply lists who you are and your intent in the city. If you have any issues with the guards you may be asked for it so don't lose it, though I'm sure you won't get in any trouble while you're here. That said make sure your goblin friend and the Tortle behave themselves. Meanwhile Dondon remains simply invisible, having not responded to Claire after activating the ability. Without being able to see him its unkown if he is remaining hidden in the cart or not, though a curious look from Rillex in the direction of the cart indicated Dondon didn't really listen. The magister turns to Torsus amd says Well, depends on what exactly you're looking for but my recommendation is to stick to the Southern Ward. Most travelers come though here and spend their stay here. So there's a lot of places that specialize in goods for adventurers and mercs. Best bet is to continue North on the High road until the split just up the way, take a left and follow the Way of the Dragon, the main road on the left there. Keep going until you come to the intersection where the main road connects to Slop street and Filled Lane, take a right onto Slop St. Take your first left from there. You'll find plenty of businesses and taverns. Can get most of what you need there and a bed for the night should you staying. Don't be put off by the name, it ain't exactly the safest part of the city nor the cleanest but its hardly the docks. You'll be just fine just watch your purses. If you need supplies for your mounts see Athol at the stables, just up and to the right here. If ya don't like what ya find on Slop street then just pick a direction, I'm sure you'll find something to suit your needs.
The tortle hummed and nodded, honestly doubting he'd remember all that but not for lack of trying at-least! He fishes out a gold piece and handed it to the one who'd answered their questions Meant as no more than a thank-you for the information. It's not much but perhaps it will buy you that mug of ale after your shift or round is over. You've been quite a good steward. He says as he lets Claire take the 'note' from the man, unless there was a note for each individually, in which case he'd obviously take his. Despite her overall demeanor and naivete, he trusted that Claire was, deep down, a good, steadfast person, or at-least strives to be.
In all honesty, Torsus felt like he had already gathered most of the supplies he needed, though he may browse if others intended to, and he would see if some magical trinket of minor value might be available, after he stocked up on enough days rations for both himself and his horse at Athols (obviously horse feed for the pony and not literally rations). For now he stuck with the group until they decided upon whether they were staying the night or passing through.
Since I'm not wanting to assume what we're doing for the group I'll pause my post here.
(May do shoping privately in discord or in the case of Claire in person at somepoint just to speed things up. Not sure yet for now though will wait to see what if anything people plan to do from here.)
The magister politely hands the gold back and tries to keep the offense of being called a steward hidden. I thank you for the thought but I am a Magister of Waterdeep. This is just one of many duties I have I make quite enough gold already. Please, do enjoy your stay. He waves you off and calls for the next coach in line. You all move up just out of the way, just before the crossroads previously mentioned.
