Angar just sits in quiet meditation as the party rests. The next hour goes by without any incident. It's likely anyone who cared probably assumed the pary dead in the collapse. Or were making an ambush further up ahead. Either way, nothing molested the party during their break. Once Zack awakens and wonder is summoned, the party starts making their way along the tunnels they've yet to explore. The first fork quickly reveals that it simply connect to itself almost immediately but around the bend there is yet another for in the path. Nadia can hear what sounds like a fire crackling and the group as a whole can feel warm air coming from the left tunnel.
Zack closed his eyes to rest better, the headache forming between the skull bashing and dirt inhalation triggering it and not long after the dome was erected, he slipped out of consciousness for a while, the others waking him up after their conversation. And him feeling a bit better, though his head still felt... for lack of a better word thick. As he woke up, he looked up past Nadia's breasts to her face giving her a thankful but sincere tone. You didn't have to sit like that for ... he realized he wasn't sure quite how long he'd been out... That long... Your legs gotta be asleep by now. There's a lot of things I can take and do even if recent history says otherise... but sitting like this for this long... isn't one of them. Either way, thanks cutie, and sorry for uh pulling 'Roc-Little' hah. he wasn't sure if she'd get the reference of chicken little Roc-Little, since it was a human story but who knows.
Regardless, he asks for a few more minutes to really 'wake up' and during that time he talks with everyone, even Angar, and gives them a little boost to their spirits (+8 temp) before spending just one minute on stretching to get himself limber again, and takign a very long swallow from his waterskin. And Nadaar... I know whatever that invisible thing is you've summoned before..he says, unaware it was summoned yet again When we're out of here, I want you to show me how to do it. I think I can feel the tug of a similar power, but, I .. don't understand the intricacies. The other stuff I do is a burst of a need responding to my will or atleast that's the best I can describe it - And intensity of will manifesting into reality or some other mumbojumbo.
Just before they left the dome, he'd kiss Nadia's forehead once and ruffle the back of her head softly before rubbing along her back, and giving her a confident smile that said "We got this."
Once the group had began moving again, and reached yet another fork feeling that warmth radiating, he'd look to the others and ask Am I the only one feeling that? Odd that we'd feel heat before we can even see any real light... Fire doesn't spread heat that far.... Hey, Angar... Would you mind looking ahead, and using your stick-skull if it does actually talk to to you, and have it check about ten feet ahead of us till we find out exactly what it is? it was both a light taunt to get Angar to do something other than walk with the group and fight, as well as to risk someone he cared less about to prevent another 'tunnel collapse'
When time came for them to get moving, Nadia gave Zack some gentle nudges to rouse him awake, she quietly whispering, "Wake up, sleepy head~" to further coax him awake. She smiles when she sees his eyes open, he already looking much better after that much needed rest, yet here he was, fretting about her. She tilts her head slightly. "I... can't say I'm familiar with that reference, but don't worry about it, Zack." She waves a hand dismissively. "My lap has been a pillow to many children in the past, so sitting like this is no problem for me. Legs just need a little massage and I'll be good to go!"
Once Zack sat up, she did just that, getting back up when her legs got some blood flowing through them. After dusting off her pants, she goes to give a thumbs up as a signification she was good to go, only to be stopped mid-way by a surprise forehead kiss and hair ruffle. There is no rebuttal from the elf, only a slight pout with reddened cheeks as she goes and fixes her hair.
At the noise she perks up and points it out to the group had they not picked up on it already. With the fighters suggestion of Angar going forth to use Yorick to get a quick peek, she cocked a brow then gave a look to the death whisperer, wondering if he would comply with the request.
"I can promise to try, but no more than so. Our magics as, I've observed come from two sides of the same coin. Or, so I believe the laymen's terminology would be for the circumstances. And perhaps in the teaching, though you see your own as mere need and will, you might discover more about yourself." Nadaar had replied with as much before the group truly set off. An act he could not have done faster after playing witness to Zack's and Nadia's lovey doveness. Nothing against the two personally, but...
Well, now was not the time to be drawn into memories of pleasant times with previous loves. Although he certainly reminded to write to one or two at the next opportunity!
In any case, he too had looked back at Angar following Zack's request, if albeit more to size up the length of his arms before turning to the ex-soldier. "He doesn't have the reach, even with his compatriot. And given the bend, I doubt very seriously if something awaits there, that it might not notice anyhow." He counters just loud enough to be heard by the group, blissfully unaware of Zack's intent... as per the usual. "But bah! Lady Nadia and you have taken the brunt of enough troubles as it is. Allow me this time. With any luck, it'll merely be a campfire using the smokeless coals I've heard dwarves have managed to create." With that, unless anyone wishes to stop the Dragonborn, he steps forth to check out the left most path all quiet like.
Angar looks to Yorick for a moment before finally saying Aye I suppose we cou- but before he can finish the thought Nadaar has already sprung forward, melting into the shadows like a rogue might. Seeing that Nadaar clearly has this handled, Amgar simply shrugs indifferently.
Nadaar sneaks ahead, clinging to the shadows and coming across a small chamber that looks like someone had set up camp here. There are several crates and barrels tucked away in the back of one corner, in the center is a crackling fire with a spit of meat roasting over it. The smoke seems to be billowing up through a small hole in the ceiling acting as a natural chimney. Nadaar also notices the cart, tucked away towards the back. The cart appears to be empty. Nadaar is able to sneak a bit closer, using the shadows cast from the fire to blend in with the walk wall. He hears someone off to his right. A male voice can be heard saying Eat up girl. I think our guests crushed themselves in the cave, so it should be safe to relax now. I'll be back to brush your coat. But I need dinner too ya know! Haha. Good girl. A horse can be hear snorting in response. Nadaar backs off a bit, and sees a human male dressed in hide and carrying a staff not too unlike Angars enter the room from the other chamber. He approaches the fire, placing his staff down by his side, and pulls back his hood, revealing an old, scarred face. The left side of his jaw seems to be missing a large portion of skin, leaving muscles and teeth exposed. He sits down by the fire and removes the meat off the fire, taking a large bite before leaning back on against the wall. He closes his eyes and chews his meal without so much as a word. And it seems he has not noticed Nadaar.
'Arrogant... Good' Nadaar thought, as he partially turned to sneak back to the others and report. But then, a thought occured to him. This was it. This was his moment to make up for letting the cart driver get away the first time. And was this not the sort of bold action that Hlal praised her followers for?
The Dragonborn hardly needed to think about things a second more with so much in mind. Thus, it is with a wordless command that Wonder drifted forth, a regular ghost on the wind, only without all the hang-ups and drama. As soon as she had a firm grip upon the discarded staff, to which, Nadaar only had mental calculations and 'gut feeling' to rely on for that, it was time to act. Her signal to move away from the man with the prize in hand would be a dagger impacting, or at least sent flying in the man's direction. An attack made with such precision and uncanny force, the man would feel as if nearly thrown into the cave wall hard. Before the man has even begun to recover from the shock of the attack, Nadaar's lithe figure came rushing in, detaching from the shadows like some dragon made manifest from it.
No words of surrender or idle threats made here. There was not the time. He instead leapt onto the bench of the wagon only to catapult off it, spinning and throwing his full weight into a hammering blow meant to push the man again... Right into the cook fire. But either the man was quick on the uptake, or today just wasn't Nadaar's day. Either way, he let out a growl more than loud enough to be overheard by the others. "You will not escape my blades a second time over, kidnapper of the dead! Surrender now, or pay the blood price." He demanded calmly, but his eyes all but dared the scarred man to put up a fight.
Action: (Main-Handed/Thrown)Dagger - To Hit: 24 For: 6 non-magical piercing, pushing the man away by 8 feet. (Movement Increased by +10 due to Blade Fourish, for a total of 40ft)
Movement: Onto the bench of the cart in the north corner.
Bonus Action: (Off-Handed)Scimitar - To Hit: 7 For: 3 non-magical slashing non-magical piercing, pushing the man away by 5+??? into/over(?) the fire using mobile flourish.
Meanwhile, Wonder moves 15 ft closer to Nadia and the gang.
The man continues to eat and relax a bit while Nadaar formulates a plan. In his state of relaxation, he doesn't hear wonder creeping ever closer. He dosen't see the dagger coming his way until it's already too late. The dagger sends him reeling back knocking him into the wall behind him. He cries out in pain and reaches out for his staff which is currently being carried off by wonder. Hey! My staff! Get back hear you! He cannot properly react however before from out of the shadows a dark scaled dragonborn is seen charging at him blade in hand. The scimitar comes down and the man reels back in anticipation. But the blade never connects due to Nadaars incompetence for reasons known only to Nadaar. Probably mercy.
You foul beast! You attack a man while he sits down for dinner! How uncivilized! You kids todays! The man looks around as If looking for his staff but not seeing it he simply raises his hands in surrender. Humpf! Well it seems I'm at your mercy you brigand! What do you want that you invade my home?
The rest of the party hears a commotion down the tunnel, followed by Nadaar yelling at someone. Shortly after a staff covered in skulls comes out from that direction, seemingly floating in mid air.

Zack sighed when Nadaar volunteered. having wanted to risk Angar over him. But it was too late and whatever the **** the dragonborn was thinking was probably stubbornly going to be stuck in his head. So instead Zack, simply watched where the shadows went. A full minute passed by in silence before suddenly commotion followed by a bellowing declaration. Zack however, instead of charging in as per usual, he whispered to Angar and Nadia, just after the staff had came 'walking' by itself towards them, Lets see how Nadaar handles the situation. But lets get close enough to help.
Zack , trying to counter his armors normal noise, very very slowly approaches the cave at half of his usual pace.... and when he manages to get close enough to the edge to be able to help if needed, and isn't heard approaching.... without being seeing, he'll wait and listen to whats going on inside.
If Zack is heard approaching, he will attempt to do his best mimickry of how the nasty worm-thing sounded before, in an attempt to make the enemies think that it was approaching.
Nadia was relatively indifferent who went to investigate the area, and hadn't tried to stop the Dragonborn from volunteering. He could handle himself probably, she was sure, and had he run into any trouble they would be right behind him to help out. She perked up fully when she heard the ruckus, her hands readying an arrow as Zack whispered some orders, she nodding in silent confirmation with his plan. Using her range to her usual advantage, she tries to hide among the shadows while getting into position to shoot the culprit had he made any threatening movements towards Nadaar (or Zack/Angar, had they not been quiet enough).
Zack sneaks off down the tunnel, followed shortly by Nadia and Angar. Zack and Angar succeed in making very little noise and blending in with the shadows. Nadia however uncharacteristically makes quite a bit of noise while sneaking up. Nadaar sees the old man glance behind him and says Brigands! Vagabonds! Trying to sneak up on an old man! During dinner no less! Leave me be, I've naught done harm to anyone!

At Nadaar's mental request, Wonder continued down past the others, eventually stopping out of sight with the staff very much still in her invisible grasp. Unflinching, Nadaar continued to hold the old man at scimitar point, his eyes narrowing and teeth beginning to show as the man continued to holler and petulant about the whole thing. If doubt ever entered the Dragonborn's mind, it never showed on his face.
He just allowed him to talk, and try to gauge the man's true feelings, if any, from the sudden assault.
But he cannot. Nevermind the difficulties in reading someone missing much of his cheek, the fact the wound was there was a distraction.
"Enough." He hisses out tightly. "If we were such things alone, you would be dead, and all your possessions long taken. Or might you reveal more of yourself and abilities to deny this claim, hm? And do not dare try to lie to me, and say any power you have is in that staff of yours alone, as I know a bit of magic myself." Nadaar states, edging the tip of his scimitar just a bit more closer to the man's neck, but refraining from truly attempting to nick at anything. Yet.
"But nevermind that. Who are you old man? Why have you been stealing the dead? And why have you been animating them? Answer honestly, and things can continue on a more amicable footing. Try to lie or struggle without answering further, and I will flay you alive, destroy the soul of the beast over yonder before you, and then... well, you do not want me to get any more imaginative." He states flatly, allowing the scent of burnt cinnamon and caustic fumes to seep out from his maw.
The man glares at you as you speak Nadaar. At first it seems he has no intention of answering any of your questions until a threat is made towards his undead steed. Not a moment since the threat as been spoke does his eyes go wide with terror. No not Francine! She's done nothing to you! You beast! You..you...His expression changes from anger to one of desperation. Shit...My name is Alvin, but that's all I can tell you.
Nadaar's eyes narrow into dangerous slits. "Al-vin." He states, drawing out certain letters before smiling. "I will remember that, assuming that is your real name... Alvin of the short memory span it seems. Because I was quite clear about the part of you not wanting me to be more imaginative. Or have you lost some of your hearing, my skeletal face adversary." He states flatly.
"Now, I have asked you several questions. And I can either rip them from your soul, or we keep things amicable. But, I will have my answers one way or the other. So cooperate." He states, and lets the words sink in a moment. "Now, let's try this. Pretell why you cannot tell more? Is it something to do with some other Dark Master of yours? The same those Bodaks you sent for us are bound to?"

Alvin glares at you and takes a step back before returning to he same position, quickly remembering the two others at his back. He looks down repeatedly and says. I can't tell you. He repeats. However you notice this time he nods is head to indicate 'yes'. You'll just have to kill me you vagabond. Threats or no I won't betray my master!
Nadia chides herself mentally at being the one to have failed in sneaking up on the man, giving away that there were others surrounding him. Seeing no point in staying back, she inches herself forward with her bow still drawn, allowing Nadaar to do the questioning while she merely listens in on the mans replies.
Zack see's Nadia moving forward and mentally sighs thinking We should be staying back just in case... and only rushing in once the coast seems clear or there's no other choice... but by then it was too late, so he simply shifts off the wall, sword drawn and prepares to move forward, taking one last look around the area, to make sure nothing had, or was trying to sneak up from behind on the group before proceeding inside.
After which he'd carefully move inside, sword forward.. likely from Alvin the Chipmunk's view he would simply see the massive blade coming in before he saw the person behind it. But once Zack was visible, he'd stop and sidle enough to be about 10 feet to the left of Nadaar but inside the room. He wanted to say somehting but knew Nadaar would fine some problem with it, so he kept his trap shut.
Nadaar began to growl in irritation over the man's resistance. If it weren't for the fact -- The growling comes to an abrupt stop. But then he huffs, and shakes his head. "You are growing to displease me, Alvin. Very, very much so." He said aloud, but nodded almost as if agreeing to something. Without a word or so much as a glance back, Nadaar uses his free hand to motion Nadia closer then down to the earth at the man's feet. "And next you'll tell me you cannot because your Master's within arms' reach of you, hmm? A short little skip into some deeper and darker place where the other bodies have been dragged off to?" He feigned a demand while watching the man's movements more closely now.
"And what of converts like yourself, hm? Has not the interest for such to invite such? Or are the dead and maimed the only company they care to keep? Either of which cannot number more than... what? A dozen? Maybe two? Hah! All mere shamblers I bet. Certainly no more of those Bodaks."

When Zack moves to be standing of to the side from Nadaar, he sees the scarred face of Alvin and recoils from the sight. Alvin simply glares at him before returning his focus back on Nadaar. I have no ide- Alvin seems to stare off in the distance, losing focus on the party for a brief moment before a smile appears the unscarred half of his face. I see. It seems, you can be told a bit of what has been occurring here. As a reward for defeating the Bodak. The creature was gift to you from my master. Unlikely that you'll receive that gift again, but there are others that can be bestowed. My master uses the dead to study the various diseases that plague the body. All in a good cause of course. Haven't you or a loved one ever gotten sick? And not some, cough or lingering sneeze. The kind of sickness that causes blood to ooze out your eyes. The kind that leaves you blinded. The kind that makes the skin fall off your face! No? Let me show you then!
Alvin lunges forward to touch Nadaar, his hands glowing with a sickly green light. The light enters Nadaars being, but seemingly has no other affect. Alvin simply laughs as Nadaar stars to feel weakened.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nadia listens to the man with a sneer clear on her face. Her eyes narrow when he begins to monologue, her grip on her bow tightening waiting for him to move... And with his lunge forward, Nadia let's loose the arrow she had held!
Readied action triggered: Attack: 28 Damage: 7
(Assuming that hits) Briefly, Nadia gives a worried glance over to Nadaar, internally cursing at herself for not being fast enough to shoot the man's hand away from getting in contact with the dragonborn. The elf gives a direct glare to Alvin. "What the hells did you do to him, you hijo de puta!?" She shouts angrily, another arrow already being drawn. "And you better answer me truthfully or you're gonna be leaving here with more holes than you started with!"
'Balls!' Is all Nadaar had time to think before the hand made contact on his chest, gliding past a far too slow attempt at a parry. He shoved him away after, but by then it was too late. The try alone felt laborious and left the Dragonborn close to breathless. But after a moment of answering Alvin's laughter with a glare, the Dragonborn too started to chuckle even as Nadia shouted her demands.
"So, your master seeks to do good then through his studies? Or would be more accurate to say, you seek it out of curiosity?" He asked, look at Alvin as if he's staring right through the man. "How very interesting. I look forward to meeting you. As for this... disease of yours. I must say that.... Birds flying high... You know how I feel.... Sun in the sky... you know how I feel... Breeze drifting on by.... You know how I feel.... It's a new dawn... It's a new day... It's a new life.... For meeeee~ And I'm feeling.... Goood." He sung as clutching his chest with his free hand, it glowed with an orange-red light that seeped into Nadaar, purging at least the one disease to seep past the skin.
Whether he succeeded or not, the learning would narrow things down enough for the bold Dragonborn to add, "This one will be of no further use to us. Incapicitate him for now." He asked of the others without taking his eyes of the man. "Violently, if you would."
Action: Casting Feeling Good at 2nd level on self, targeting one "disease" on himself.

But the blade never connects
due to Nadaars incompetencefor reasons known only to Nadaar.
Initiative was rolled but combat is on hold.

He could handle himself
probably, she was sure, and had he run into any trouble they would be right behind him to help out. She perked up fully when she heard the ruckus, her hands readying an arrow as Zack whispered some orders, she nodding in silent confirmation with his plan. Using her range to her usual advantage, she tries to hide among the shadows while getting into position to shoot the culprit had he made any threatening movements towards Nadaar (or Zack/Angar, had they not been quiet enough).Stealth: 11
(ah *****)

After which he'd carefully move inside, sword forward.. likely from Alvin
the Chipmunk's view he would simply see the massive blade coming in before he saw the person behind it. But once Zack was visible, he'd stop and sidle enough to be about 10 feet to the left of Nadaar but inside the room. He wanted to say somehting but knew Nadaar would fine some problem with it, so he kept his trap shut.Occassional Dungeon Master.

Nadia listens to the man with a sneer clear on her face. Her eyes narrow when he begins to monologue, her grip on her bow tightening waiting for him to move... And with his lunge forward, Nadia let's loose the arrow she had held!
