Zack wasn't fond of the Idea of Nadia going first, since it meant if discovered by sheer luck, she'd be the first target. Allright, Captain Hei it is. Meet with you. Simple enough. I'm sure there will be enough commotion on our escape unless things go too well that we shouldn't be hard to spot. And Nadia, be careful up there. I haven't heard your footsteps recently but still, they might just be looking in the right place at the right time, so take it slow dip it up low pop pop pop that thang I don't believe Falkas wil be joining us but if he is he can go just behind me. I'll follow next.
Zack would say, looking up at the ladder, adding in... When you reach the top, drop one arrow down, I think it's best we take this one at a time. And that will be the signal. Whether she agrees or not, he'd nod and watch her go up. For once more concerned for her well-being than catching a view (As normally hes more confident she won't be hurt).
When it was Zack's turn to climb, unless something happens before then, he'd place his sword against the wall, and pick up the dropped arrow, and place it in his teeth like a rose. WHile he'd waited, he'd tied one end of the rope to himself, and held the hook-end in his hand in a way where he could still climb.... ready to throw it at a higher rung if need be.
Falk nods saying This is as far as I go. I'll be keeping an eye on you though. Either way get up there and get this done. I'll catch up with you after.
Nadia heads up top, the ladder seeming to hold her weight just fine. When you reach the top you find yourself in a dark, dank cellar. You don't see or hear much in the way of people, so you're pretty sure the coast is clear. Zack and Happy soon follow after. The room has several old rotted crates covered in cobwebs covering most of the room. Up ahead you see a door set into the stone wall.
Zack summons his sword up, and once he notices the cobwebs by feel, if not by sight... and when he does, he uses his sword .. CAREFULLY to avoid making noise against the wall, before igniting his sword momentarily to get rid of them entirely. Barring that causing some negative effect....
He would Move up to the door after sheathing his sword, carefully placing his ear to it, trying to ascertain if there is anything on the other side that he could hear, and if possible determine its general direction. (Percep: 10)
If he can hear nothing, he will whisper to the others that he believes the coast is clear, and carefully open the door to creep out..... (Stealth: 20)
If his hearing it too significantly bad (5 or less) he will instead turn to the others and see if they fare any better....
If he DOES end up creeping out.... he will take a moment to look both ways and around him, and attempt to glean where this may be.. such as a servants quarters, etc... (History? Invest? (4)

So far, so good,Nadia assures herself, looking around the immediate area as she waits for the boys to climb on up to join her. So many cobwebs... She shutters at the thought of there being spiders around, but refocuses herself when she sees Zack press his ear to the door, hoping that he didn't hear anything that would mean trouble for them.
(Going to assume that we'll press forward, however I'll roll a perception check for door hearing myself just in case, if its not needed, then just use this roll for when we pass through - 7)
You both hear nothing at the door and manage to open it stealthfully enough. On the other side are several large kegs and barrels lined up on either side of you. It would seem you've entered the wine Cellar. Thus far it seems the coast is clear. While not familiar with this part of the castle Zack can reasonably assume an exit leading somewhere above is close by, and that the exit likely leads to a kitchen or other servant area.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Happy continues to trundle along behind the others, not really having any insights to give the others at the moment. For the time being, he was content to avoid making too much noise and just make sure everyone stayed at least just within the radius of the blessing. As he didn't quite have the same history as the others, he would look to them as well for certainty about the area they were in, and the potential dangers. But if told in some manner, all the firbolg can do was shrug at any request for plans. The whole event was new territory in every sense of the word.

Glad that the immediate coast was clear, Zack presses forward as Nadia likely knocks over some musty barrel! He gives her a teasing smirk, despite the seriousness of their mission, and whispers Maybe I should be the ranger and you should be the fighter hmm? he ends it with a wink though he still expects a slap regardless.. if anything, he hoped his teasing would lighten any tension they may be having. And seeing that they're in the wine cellar.... Zack before pressing forward, if any bottles are on a rack against a wall and not locked or barreled... He'd take atleast six... To celebrate with later... Or perhaps sell. We're already committing high-crimes.. May as well add a few petty ones. May as well grab a few yourselves. And once that was done, he would look around the area, trying to find the ladder.. or the staircase, or even just a door, that would lead out of the room.
And unless one is not found.... zack would repeat the process from before....
Zack, after pocketing some wine you finally find a spiral staircase leading up. At the top of the landing is a closed door. Taking the time to listen through the keyhole you hear a few voices, two males, and by the sounds of the metal clinking everytime they move, you assume them to be guards. They are just making small talk at this time, talking about the weather and making plans to go drinking after getting off, which servant looks the hottest and the like. As you listen in you hear the sound of someone in metal boots running down the hall. Hey guys! You gotta come see this! It's the craziest thing I've ever seen! A bunch of animals are harassing the gate guards. Got the guard dogs all worked up too. It's actually pretty funny, poor Greg has no idea what to do. The other two guards laugh and, after deciding they can leave their post for a few minutes, the three of them walk away. Once the coast is clear, you peel your head out and find yourself in a stone hallway in the keep. You.can gonleft or right, left is where the guards seemed to have gone.
Happy would at least have looked at the surrounding wine at Zack's suggestion. Unfortunately, seeing as he wasn't much of a drinker (and consider the assassination less a crime and more a 'greater good' scenario anyhow, true or not), the firbolg is soon dismissing the wine cellar contents to loosely keep pace with Zack. Enough at least to where his magic would continue to reach.
Presumeably, if told about the split, he just gestures strongly to head to the right, wishing to put off a confrontation for as long as possible.

Nadia lets out a tiny snort at Zack's words, her nerves calming down just a tad at the teasing. "I would certainly like to see you shooting my bow, hermoso."The ranger then shrugs when he suggests taking a wine bottle or two, taking just one since he looted quite a bit already. No need to get greedy now.
If Zack notifies them of their options, she will agree with Happy about heading to the right, also wanting to avoid any unnecessary confrontation.
Zack didn't see any reason to follow the guards, though he was bemused by their conversation, even though he expected it to be happening. Part of him wished to see their faces but there wasn't time for that. Regardless, for now, Zack would nod in the 'right' direction.
Heading down the hall to the right you eventually come to a larger hallway and intersection in the castle. To the left you see several doors and it looks like it may to do the dining area of the castle. To the right you also see several doors and it looks like it may lead to a sitting room or other room for guests to be entertained. Straight ahead is a set of stairs leading to the next floor. Whatever your choice pls make another set of stealth rolls everyone.
Zack pondered for several moments, but considering the time of day both a dining room and guests were both plausible, though eating a meal was more likely... Whispering, Zack says, Nadia... check out those doors.. i think they'll be where guests arrive and wait, I'll check the other side where I believe there is a dining area. And happy... Keep an eye down this hall, and watch our backs. But don't take too long at whatever you do. We're looking for a woman who looks way more rich than she needs to be. If you think you see her, signal, if you don't then head back to happy and we'll risk whoever seems to have the most likely area.
Without wasting a beat, Zack proceeds to where he said he'd go.. going first to any door that already appeared open. If none, or only one, he would proceed in the order the doors appeared closest to farthest until something happened, or he felt he spotted the person, unless of course ,he gets spotted.
After Zack makes his suggestion, Happy looks back and forth between the two destination of his friends to guage the distance. "Well... alright, but don't get too far away from me if it can be helped. My magic only go so far, as a reminder." He warned regardless of findings before finding a spot in which he could watch the hall as requested, but while keeping the two optimally within 30ft of him during their branching off search.
If either start to look about ready to incidentally wonder beyond the reach of the spell, Happy makes the executive decision to prioritize zack, if only because he was the less lithe of the two.
Zack, most of the doors are closed and some even locked, but you have your sights on one particular door already. From a door near the end of the hall is an alluring smell of cooked meat. As you get closer you hear people talking as well. When you get to the door and peek inside you find several castle servants cooking what appears to be the days lunch. A half elf woman who appears to be the head chef is barking orders to several others in the room. The whole kitchen is in chaos as people cook, clean, and run about the room to make sure everything is perfect. Come on people! That steak should be done by now the Duchess isnt going to wait around all day. Wheres that damn servant to grab the plate anyway? And you! I told you to fetch the red wine from the cellar! What even is this swill you brought me? Bring me the 1105 vintage or don't come back at all! A week human boy, probably about 10 years old, looks embarrassed as he nods repeating "yes ma'am" more than seems necessary. He starts making a B-line for.the door, and right for you.
Nadia gives Zack a nod in affirmation at the order, slowly creeping her way to the doors he had pointed out to her to check out. At Happy's warning, she hesitates for a second, but decides to press on. The new armor had already proven to be an issue for her, so she only hoped the dice it wouldn't give her an issue now.
Stealth (not sure if you used the other one I rolled in discord (1+17), so I'll roll again just in case): 9 (+10 if I happen to still be within distance of PwoT) Perception: 15
Zack flinches just a bit at the last part of the commentary, Clearly this is the kitchen. But why is the wine cellar so far away from.. whatever.. he thought to himself as he stood up and pinned hismelf near the wall, to use the door as cover.. if at all possible, but standing in a fashion that he would have if he had been station at the door.. perhaps as a guard in-case the door didn't open his way, or somehow the boy spotted him.
Regardless of what happened next.. the following actions are readied based on what the boy does:
If the boy spots him and believes he is a guard and continues on, Zack will wait until his back is turned and not in direct line of sight of the door, and attempt to grapple him in a way where the boys mouth is covered by one hand while he tries to 'choke him out' nonlethally. Both to silence any potential cries, and render him unconscious.
If the boy spots him, and doesn't believe that he's a guard, Zack will go for a good old knockout punch before the boy can cry out... nonlethal. And then attempt to move the boy out of line of sight before he's spotted.
If the boy doesn't notice him at all, Zack will do the first Bullet Point.
Rolls:
Grapple Rolled at advantage on the assumption of a 'from behind/ grapple as Zack would become an unseen attacker... however if he is seen in some fashion, take the lower roll: Grapple: 16
Attack Roll if applicable instead rolled normal since it would only trigger if he was spotted - Unarmed strike to KO: 12 - 5 damage.
Nadia, you sneak down the hall and find a door that's cracked open. Peeking inside you find what appears to be a sitting room. Several expensive looking pieces of furniture decorate the room as well as several book shelves and a globe of the known world. Inside you see a servant girl dusting the place while another servant, an older human male, cleans the tables and shines the floor. I swear, the male speaks up, this room never gets used anymore yet the Duchess insists we keep it clean. Don't you think that's a bit of a waste of time? I don't think so. She probably just wants it to look nice for guests. What guests? There hasn't been any type of guests here for years now. I remember when I first started working here as a lad. The duchess loved spending time in here. Especially when entertaining visitors. Last few years though, she hasn't stepped foot in here, and we haven't had a noble visitor in just as long. I think you're overthinking it charles. She's probably just bored with the room. I mean how many times can you read the same books and still be entertained? I just think it's weird is all. It just seems like one day she changed, in a small way sure but still. Just do what your told and collect your payment. That's what I do, the rest doesn't concern me. You youngins only carry about coin now a days.
The conversation dies off, becoming less interesting and more of a one sided debate about what things were like in the old days.
Zack, the boy quickly rushes out of the kitchen and shuts the door behind him. As he does he sees oh and stammers. Oh..uh..sorry sir...didn't mean to get in your way. He then starts walking the direction of Happy and the wine cellar, apparently thinking you are a guard or some military officer here to see someone. He does not hear or see you sneak up on him. When your arms go around him mouth and neck he tries to call out for help but his cries are muffled by your palm. He drops the bottle of wine he was holding, it breaks on the floor, staining the carpet red. The boy struggles to break free but soon looses consciousness as you knock him out. Hes light enough that you should be able to carry him without issue.

Zack very carefully moves away from the door, heading back towards Happy, with the boy in hand, keeping his hand over his mouth for an extra few seconds, but not long enough to suffocate the lad. Telling him If Nadia asks.. Just putting the boy out of sight. Will be back asap.
Unless somehow caught, or some other event occurred, Zack would proceed back down the hall where they had came up from the wine cellar, after picking up the 'neck' of the bottle hat had broken to put the boy just inside the door to it, and out of easy, immediate sight. And barring some other event occurring that would prevent it.... Zack would draw the back of his arm across his blade, just enough to draw a moderate amount of blood, then, taking his finger, hew would use it like a brush, and drag the blood across the boys' throat, to make it look as though his throat had been slit... on the offchance the child is spotted. And just in case, he puts the broken bottleneck in the boys hand.
If nothing happened up to this point that would alter the course..... Zack would go back, to investigate the other doors on the same side.
Happy stared flabbergasted, but somehow mustered the wherewithal to slowly nod in acceptance. As he watched Zack carry off the boy however, the firbolg couldn't help but shake his head after a few moments as he turned back to focus on his main hallway. 'Now I say, I thought I had been prepared to see some sights, but quite one's like that' He thought, smiling to himself in mild bemusement. A more amused Rillex watches Zack the entire step of the way, and after a moment's hesitation, glided down from Happy's shoulders to start following after the human.
