"What if we just punch a small hole in the ceiling of the circle chamber in the cellar, then I can get us all in with no issue. I'll be limited on powerful spells, but I trust in our ability to overcome."
Paren turns to the kobold. "I am a servant to the god who's temple that is. If I can get through to the other side I may be able to communicate with him and help to restore the balance to this place so that it can be safe for your people once again. Like Jay says, I cannot promise anything, but I will do everything I can to help make it right. I have sworn to protect life and that includes your little ones."

realizes rather quickly that it would most likely be the quickest and easiest way into the chamber. The clearing of the rubble could always be done after the threat is resolved and this would keep any potential threat away from the kobolds until it's been cleared.
"I have the bolts from that crossbow I took back in Holden Heights." Paren starts rummaging through his bag looking for the extra bolts. "I do think coming up from below is the right option though. It will certainly be quicker than going through all that rubble. When these folks collapse a tunnel they really do a thorough job."

Tanni's enthusiasm deflates a little when she hears there are no large sums of gold to be had as a possible reward. She briefly thinks of her equipment if there's something that could be useful. "No, but I'm sure there's a pickaxe somewhere in the castle. I have a couple of weapons and my smithing tools, but that's it."
From the large crowd, you all see a tiny kobold that looks to be roughly eight years old offer up a crude pickaxe that he found down in the mines quite some time ago. It looks like it could be strong enough to handle the job but most likely not something you'd want to have to count on if times got rough. "Yous can have this if yous will make them quiet."
Jay listens to the group. Their logic seems sound. However, if they are outmatched and need to retreat, they could be lost in the lower caverns if they do not plan ahead correctly. Should be input into their decisions, or just go along enough that he can get their goals back on track. Regardless, he needs to see this chamber to better understand the true situation, regardless of which path they use to get there.
Vok is more than pleased to escort the group out and away from the kobold colony within the inner quarters of the castle. "Come on back once the voices are gone. I'll find something worth your trouble."
Tyler walks with the group as they make their way back to the circle of runes. By now, you're all becoming rather familiar with the main halls of the castle and can probably navigate to the main areas rather easily. You arrive back in the wine cellar with pick axe in hand and start discussing plans on how to break through the stone ceiling without possibly caving in another chamber.
[All, you may roll a weapon attack against the wall if you have a weapon that does piercing or bludgeoning damage. Since you're attacking the ceiling, just roll damage to see how long it takes you all to get through]
[Can Tanni tell if the ceiling needs some kind of supporting structure around the hole they're going to make to make sure the ceiling doesn't collapse, like wooden beams?]
Paren hands the pickaxe over to Tanni. "Here. You can probably do better work with this than I can." He then takes his rapier and starts digging away at the mortar between the bricks.
Damage: 9

Tanni would be able to tell that creating a hole in the stone above shouldn't affect the entirity of the floor so long as the work is done with care. With her guidance and understanding of the stone structure, the group is able to avoid some of the weaker areas that could have caused the floor to crumble into the cellar.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After discussing how to approach the task at hand, Tanni takes the pickaxe. "Thanks. Let's get to work!" Tanni seems happy at the prospect of honest physical labor. She drags a wooden box at the spot they decided to break through, climbs on it to reach the ceiling and starts swinging the pickaxe with steady, heavy blows.
Damage: 8 piercing
[I used damage for War pick, since pickaxe didn't have a damage die. Please correct me if I should use different die.]

Falaine thinks on her suggestion and...

Vok nods as the others talk through possible solutions. "Quiet the voice and we will reward you. Just don't put my people in danger."
Falaine turns to the group. "Any of you have mining equipment or a piton we could use in the circle chamber? If not I can try to burrow up through."

Paren can see the kobold grin with a bit of pride at his statement.

He hands over the pickaxe
Paren bends down and takes the pickaxe from the tiny kobold. "Thank you my friend."
