Falaine excuses herself and heads back up the stairs seeming to have somewhere important she wanted to go before the group gathered for lunch.
With Paren's manipulation of the runic circle, a soft white light shines from the runes as the symbols slowly shift. Small shards of ice seem to grow from the stone floor as the Wardens and Paren step into the circle and activate the obelisk. A bright white light flashes before the entire group of Wardens and Paren suddenly disappear. A rush of cold air flows through the small wine cellar.
Looking at the runes now, Tanni and Jay are able to see the markings identifying that the circle was used to teleport somewhere with ice. The stone floor has returned to the way it was before with no sign of the ice shards being present. Tyler seems to be standing in mostly shock at the situation. He knew he wouldn't be able to control this circle. With the expedition happening soon, this only caused further complications.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Interesting..." Jay comments again, seemingly working out more and more as they continue. He unhooks the chained chest from his back, opening it up once again. He retrieves what looks like an old charred book, the leather blackened and flaky as he begins to look at the sigils and make notes on them, ready for when Paren returns so they can move onto the next task at hand.
Jay continues his notations on the charred book. He pauses for a second. "I am sure you have questions." He says, not directly to Tanni, but given there isn't anyone else with them, it probably isn't directed at anyone else.
[No worries, we'll wait until you find the time to continue."
Tanni glances up from a small chisel she had been rolling around her fingers and is clearly a bit surprised of Jays comment. She catches the chisel in her fist and leans back against the wall. "Sure. What's with the chest and chains? Wouldn't a proper backpack be easier for someone with your..." Tanni gestures vaguely towards Jay, "...physique? And why are you so interested in this circle? What's in it for you?"
"The chest was a gift. It is more durable and secure than a backpack, and I may carry all my possessions at once." Jay comments in his dulled tones again. "The circle is what brought me here, my interest is to return to where I was before here, so it requires me to ascertain the correct rune formation to do so. As for what I am 'in it' for, returning back home is my primary goal."
Jay pauses for a few seconds. His expression is still bland, but there is some tell in his eyes that he is reliving something in his mind, the dim golden glimmer there as he processes the question. "Where I hailed from doesn't matter. It does not exist anymore." He replies to Tanni, finishing off his writings in the burnt looking tome, closing it and returning to the chest, placing it within.
Tanni's ears perk up at Jay's answer. She starts to ask more, but then a thought comes to her: maybe he means his hometown was destroyed in a war or other disaster. She's silent for a moment but can't help asking, "So where exactly are you trying to return? Somewhere in Highlands? Lowlands? Holden Heights? You look like you would feel like home there, there are some deep caves crisscrossing beneath the city. Maybe once Paren gets back he can help you get there."
"I do not wish to fester in a cave like those kobolds." Jay replies, chaining the chest back up. "I believe I have isolated the pattern that will return me to where I was before, then I will continue on my journey. Theoretically once I am secure back where I was it was nearest to a place called Thornwood. If my knowledge of the area is correct it is actually not a far journey, though it may be hazardous by foot."
Jay rethinks the scenario. Would he prefer to hide away from the world? Leaving things behind from his past and starting afresh? No, of course not. He has places to be and things to do, there isn't anything for him at this location. Perhaps once he has returned to that place, finished what he was doing there, and returns, all will be well again...
Jay quietly awaits for a little while longer. He looks to his hand from time to time as he utters a quiet tone and it begins to glow again. He seems to be examining this trait, rather than doing it idly it is more like he is testing something.
((Sad to have to ask this friends but are we done? It's been half a month. I'm willing to wait longer if more if coming, just want to know one way or the other.))

Looks like we will be splitting into three groups.
Is that correct?
Because splitting the party hasn't gone bad in the past, so sure, why not?
(Unless someone wants to interject and suggest we keep together for the time being.)
Yes, Tanni would stay at the circle to wait for Paren's return.

((Hey all. Work is going to be busy the next few days so I'm planning to get everyone updated on Monday. Sorry for the delay))
