Rhayna hangs back to help shepherd the stragglers. The peace-loving kuo-toa and the sullen drow rise slowly and exit the cage, following along behind Rhayna along with the timid myconid sprout. The ball of light in which Sekkar is hidden flies toward the group of quaggoths fighting drow guards. Already the quaggoths have taken down several (losing one of their number in the process), with only the sergeant remaining, but against a foe he cannot see, and with the hated blinding sunlight in his face, he cannot block Sekkar's blows. Three more blasts from Kaylyn and a few glowing darts from Kirin, and the guard tower is clear. The quaggoths promptly toss the dead drow out the holes and into the spider webs.
Pax sprints along the wooden walkways faster than the eye can follow, and right up behind Vizeran, who is calmly making his way toward the two stalactites that serve as the barracks, and from which more male drow warriors are emerging. But Pax ducks into the first archway and finds herself in a circular chamber covered by dark silken mats with a pale web-strand pattern woven through them in silvery thread. In the middle of the chamber (at the center of the web pattern) stands a broad pedestal carved from zurkhwood and flanked by two heavy silver candlesticks with black candles, and on top of which is a 10-foot-tall spider! Pax is taken back for a fraction of a second, and prepares to strike the horrid arachnid before realising that it is simply a very lifelike carving.
Insolent slave! a voice is heard from beyond the altar. Standing in front of a large pile of pillows and cushions are two female drow that Pax recognises from their final battle - Ilvara Mizzrym, the priestess of Lolth, and her protege Asha Vandree. The younger drow speaks again: My mistress will teach you the meaning of submission. Evidently they heard the commotion and had time to prepare, because Pax now notices that two ghostly spiders are converging on her down the walls from above her head, along with a spectral whip with a dark purple glow that lashes out. Asha herself launches a bolt of energy at Pax, while Ilvara summons a mass of sticky webs around Pax, even as a large and very real spider crawls out from behind the pile of cushions and crawls across the webs toward Pax...

Another explosion from Pax rocks the entire outpost. The nearby drow guards that haven't fallen to Vizeran's magic attempt to flee from this mighty onslaught, the likes of which they have never seen, and jump from the walkway, hoping to miss the spider webs and land in the lake. Asha can take no more of the conflaguration, and falls lifeless along with what's left of the spider. The altar now is scorched and smoking, with flames licking up the giant wood-carved spider. And yet Ilvara still stands. She has lost grip of the magic that summoned the insects, which gives Sekkar enough freedom to slip quickly into the room and lay his fangs into the drow's flesh. Kirin appears next and casts his own necrotic magic, but the drow seems too clever for such tricks and shakes it off. In desperation, she attempts one final gambit. Demonic powers swirl around her as she intones a powerful ritual... (success on 71 or higher: 94) ... but it seems her goddess has abandoned her and no demons materialise. Finally Kaylyn steps into the doorway, fires several magic blasts, and for the second time the group see Ilvara Mizzrym, the priestess that enslaved them, fall lifeless at their feet. The drow outpost is clear.
Rhayna points out where the weapons are stashed in the guard tower, to the surprise of the other captors, although only Sarith and Derendil seem interested in obtaining shortswords. The large hairy elf-prince-in-quaggoth-form looks rather comical holding a short blade in massive clawed fist, but he seems content to be so armed. Shuushar shows no interest in weapons. The gnomes are nowhere to be seen, the dwarf is helping the quaggoths that are still caged to get free, the orc can be seen huffing and puffing as he tries to climb down the cliff face to the cavern floor below (despite the fact there is a lift at the other end of the outpost) and Stool simply stands in a corner trying not to get in the way.
"So...when you escaped first time, where did you go?" Kirin question as he inspects the items wielded by the drow priestesses for any use, "As we don't have information to work with beside when you knew from before,"

She draws them together. Time seems to slow down. Like two lodestones the rods feel as though they are repelling one another. Sekkar was waiting for the results of Pax's experiment with skeptical curiosity. He could not hear the sounds in her head, of course, and did not really know what to expect but getting nothing was about right. He shrugged and turned to Kirin.
"Last time we went - or were brought, if you wish, to the kuo-toa village, quite far from here. Do not recommend repeating the trip, though. I still say we better off with the gnome's city - Mantol-Derith. We know the place, so, the jump can be sure, right?" He glanced at Kaylyn. "Slaves will be safe, there are two beholders there and we shall have enough time to fix... whatever is going on before those demons do something in other places."
Pax takes the 'new' wand and stores it safely at the bottom of her bag.
Pax glances at Sekkar as he outlines his plan. She makes a wry face as she glances around at the scorched temple. With a little bit of a sigh, she speaks up, "We made a clear deal with Vizeran, he assists us in our first endevour, and then spends his time focusing on preparing the ritual. I think this...." she waves her hand lamely at the air around them "....doesn't really change that. I agree Mantol-Derith is a good place for Kaylyn to take us. But first, I think Vizeran should take us to his tower. We go look for the purple worm eggs...was it...that we need...and then we can teleport ourselves to Mantol-Derith to get the beholder eye. Hopefully by the time we complete those two things, Vizeran will be ready for us and we can nip this whole demon thing in the bud before it gets as out of control as it did before. Does that sound ok?" She directs this last question mostly to Kaylyn.
"Oh, and before I forget, I have to check on something, I'll be right back."
Casting fly on herself she checks on the fallen body of the gnome to make sure he's dead, then returns to the gorup.
She shuffles around in her bag and pulls out some paper, "But first, I think it would be good if we all wrote down the timing for the other events that occurred. I'd like to know as much about where the demons will be and when, as we are aware of, and also so we know what sort of timeline we're on."
She puts her shield on the charred stand and the paper on it's back, "So.....lets try to remember...when did things happen..."
(We don't actually have to do this out of game, as long as in-game Pax has a solid idea of the previous timing of events, so she can keep track.)

"The drow can take to the tower only eight people," reminded Sekkar, "there are more of us with ex-slaves. Leaving with him means they will stay here on their own. If we go to gnomes first, we can bring everyone there with the helmet. But sure, if you don't care about them, let's go. They might even work as a decoy - drow and others will be after them and not us." He looked at Pax with a renewed interest. "Did not think you had it in you."
Pax sighs heavily, "I do not have it in me. I hadn't considered the other prisoners, foolish. I'd say sorry to disappoint you, but...I'm not really. So, all of us to Mantol-Derith. Then from there to Vizeran's tower. You're right, it's the better plan."

"I can take 8 others with me. To Mantol-Dereth is fine. I should be sufficiently knowledgeable of the place that we can go there with little to no risk. Or the others are free to make their own ways from here back into the Underdark. With the drow here dead there is little chance we will be chased down again." Kaylyn responds turning her attention to Vizeran "Can you teleport twice? I can only do so the one time unless we choose to rest in Mantol-Dereth. I would prefer not to get caught up again in events there. We drop those who wish to go and then leave and continue our mission. What say you?"
Rhayna looks around for Topsy and Turvy, but they are nowhere to be seen. “Ugh!! Fine. They found their way back home anyway.” She looks at Stool, and was about to pick up the little guy, but refrained from doing that. “Come along Stool.” She tells the Myconid telepathically. “You too Shuushar, we need to get out of this place.” Then she tells everyone. “Guys, let’s go meet with the others.” Rhayna goes to look for the rest of the party.
As she hears Kaylyn’s plan. “Is everyone ok with going to Mantol-Dereth?” Rhayna asks the other prisoners. Then she telepathically asks Stool. “What would you like to do little one?”
While everyone is discussing on what to do next. Rhayna discreetly checks on Sarith’s condition. (Medicine:20)
