falling down into the pit, well of course there is a pit and also filled with acid cause why not, she thinks as she desperately grabs for the lip of the pit to hopefully save herself.
Like a cat, Mal twists in mid air, grabbing the lip of the pit, her feet dangling down near the acid as her body thumps against the slick glass wall of the pit. Everyone watches as the huge rock, frighteningly fast smashes to the bottom of the stairs, crushing the chest into bits of wood, and crashed, hopping over the edge and just missing Mal as it slams down into the acid, where a big spray of acid splashes all over the place. Mal feels her back peppered with acid that burns into her backpack and gear that hang from her like a weight. She pulls herself back up into the small passageway at the bottom of the stairs to safety, quickly tossing her gear down and taking out some water to splash the acid away. The back of her legs and boots smoke mildly.

Aghast at the suddenness of the falling boulder and the narrow escape, Badger finally gathers his wits and runs down the stairway toward Mal to see how he can help. With a rare display of concern, the gnome digs for a healing potion and tries to magically mend the holes in her backpack.

Grenk descends quickly. He slow claps, "Mal, you be the quickest one I know. And good thing for that too. Those that made this place underestimated your skill," Grenk compliments with all honesty.
Mal panting to catch her breath thanks her companions for the concern, especially surprised about Badger's efforts, rethinking her opinion of him.
Then she pulls out her crossbow as a seething rage starts to glow in her eyes, "I can not WAIT till we find the owner of this dungeon, I have a few words I would like to share with it." Turning to Sickle, "Now where is this key so we can go grab it and can vent some of this fury on to the creature that is holding it."
Silas looks around for anything dangerous before pulling out his grappling hook, spinning it up and throwing onto the balcony indicated by Sickle.

Looking back and forth between the two, Mal thinks, I am going to die in here. Then she sits back and leans against the wall to see who arrives at the balcony first.
The issue with taking the stairs, is the large open pit of acid that now blocks entrance to the room. Thus, Silas' toss of a grapple hook is a good idea. He grabs firmly onto the rope, runs, and jumps across the pit, grabbing for higher up the rope so that he swings and lands against the glass on the far side. (Silas, roll an athletics check, DC 15. If you fail by 10 or more you will miss your grip and fall into acid. Or, given this information, you can decide not to go if you wish.)
Here's an image of the room, with the pit of acid as a big green blob:
“Wait a moment.” Sickle grunts. He haves his staff over the group, utters a few phrases in a strange language even Badger finds unfamiliar, and casts Water Walk on all of them. “If we fall in, now it shouldn’t hurt as much at least. And you won’t sink into it.”
Casting guidance on himself, Silas tries to jump across the acid pit with his rope and hook, "This is a most troublesome journey. It not full of danger but many hinderances. Should as this,"

(Oops, sorry. I imagined the acid pit in the middle or something. The mistake is on me, but you can blame Badger for being cheeky about it).
After Sickle casts his spell, one part of Badger is tempted to try it out by jumping down into the acid pit, but another part slaps the first part across the face and gives it a good lecture about unnecessary risks. The second part wins, and Badger instead casts Misty Step to arrive beside the multi-hued crystal sarcophagus and take a quick look.
Mal again chuckles and shakes his head and then gets a running start to jump over the pit.
Athletics: 20
Then having made the jump she lays down at the edge of the pit and extends her hand down to help sickle climb up the side, extending the rope if need be to help.
With the water walk spell in place, the comedy of errors comes to nothing and the group finds themselves on the interior of the room. Sickle, Silas, Mal, Badger, and Grenk are now all in the room and across the acid.
Badger walks up to the sarcophagus. The sarcophagus has a tiny keyhole carved into its lid. The keyhole does not penetrate to the interior of the sarcophagus, and there seem to be no mechanisms within it to pick or disarm. The crystal sarcophagus changes color every 6 seconds, shifting through the following repeating cycle: blue, gold, purple, green, red, black.
Mal walks around the room. She notices that the walls on the lower part of the room where they're covered in murals of minotaurs appears to be many panels that will open. She counts 10 in all around the room, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to open them.
When she walks up to the giant maze carving on the wall she notices that the intricate carving shifts before her eyes, its configuration ever changing. The maze has no exits, and its corridors are lit by tiny torches and clouded by fog.

"Friends what do you make of this maze on the wall, it appears to be changing at random any thoughts? Also there appears to be some panels lining the wall with the minotaurs. For the life of me, which obviously is always on the line in this place," with a casual look back at the pit, "I can not make heads or tails of the place."

Badger moves away from the sarcophagus and meets Mal at the maze carving. Minotaurs and mazes, he mutters. To master these mysteries you must mimic the mastermind or muster a matchless monster. Badger stands investigating the strange maze mural on the wall. It's very neat...with fog filling the gaps and little glowing torches and ...the walls are constantly shifting so there is no memorizing to be had. It looks real enough, he reaches up and grabs a small wall on the mural. The world around him shifts and warps, the maze growing to life size around him while the rest of the world and room grow and expand incredibly until they can no longer be discerned. He is standing in the maze, fog around him, a torch lighting one wall near him, the walls of the maze twenty feet high. Above him, in the sky, he sees a massive blurry view of Mal, as if she were a giant the size of the world floating over the sky staring down at him.
Mal, you see badger touch it and then shrink and get sucked into the maze until you see him standing there, in one section of the maze, a tiny badger, looking upwards towards you as you likewise look down on the top of his head.
However you don't have too much time to marvel at this sudden turn of events, as the 10 panels on the walls of the room all fall inwards with a heavy thud. Behind them are ten different ten by ten alcoves. Within each a pile of bones lay there, but....not for long....they quickly jumble about, hopping up onto each other and forming into large minotaur skeletons, each with axes clutched in their bony hands.
Behind one, you see an open passage leading away.
Everyone roll initiative, including Badger. (though badger is unaware of the minotaur's)
Minotaur's initiative : 3
If you go before them, take your action. Grenk/Silas/Sickle, if you think you would have been standing elsewhere, feel free to start your turn there....except for outside the room, cause that would be cheating. :-D
Map, squares are 5ftx5ft. If you attack a Minotaur, please let me know the # of the one you attack.
