Str Save: 12. Mandra zips down, dodging away from the gargoyles who can't enclose her enough in the space to stop her from slipping past. They all turn to pursue, though yellow tendrils leap up and grab one of them and begins dragging him down. He fights against the pull but it brings him inexorably closer to the waiting Ham and Boris.
As Mandra reaches the ground and drops Badger gently onto the brush, the gargoyles pull up and flap about, while their brother is pulled to his doom.
However, Sickle's eyes are drawn away from the battle to the sky around the city. He sees numerous dots in the air flapping towards them from all around the city. The fireball must have caught their attention, for they come from all edges of the city. There must be several dozen of them closing in, yet still several hundred feet away. What for a moment felt like victory with the three in the air above them refusing to descend to melee battle, suddenly feels like a deaths claw slowly closing on them.
Tactical update: 2 Gargoyles flapping slowly just over the edge 130 feet up. 2 Gargoyles imprisoned at the top. 3 Gargoyles flapping around about 60 feet up. 1 Gargoyle being pulled to the ground, 60 feet up as well. You are within a sixty feet of several crumbling buildings. Some are large and have roofs and/or multiple levels.
"Dozens" more gargoyles on their way, a few hundred feet away or more still.
A little voice in Badger's head tells him to make for the buildings. Friends! he calls out, we are within a sixty feet of several crumbling buildings. Some are large and have roofs and/or multiple levels.
Badger will use the Dash action to run as far as he can towards the buildings.

Mandra follows Boris and Badger into the building, hoping to find some sort of cover or a hiding spot for the party. "Any chance we can go into that gnome cave and lay low for a little while?"
Sickle follows the others not a building, looking for a place they can hide from the gargoyles. If he find a place he thinks they can successfully hide, he will burn a 3rd level spell slot to cast Pass Without Trace, otherwise he will try to position himself to aid where they can attack incoming gargoyles at a choke point.
The group rushes into the building. It's a two story affair, it's walls formed from limestone bricks. A set of stone stairs lead upstairs while rotting planks form the wooden floor. Plants and vines fill the interior. A stairway leads down into a basement and there are several rooms in here. You can also see an exit through the back. There's enough vegetation, rooms, and nooks that you think you might be able to hide in here, though if the gargoyles enter and start walking around and do a thorough search, they'll eventually bump into you.
Hide? Or something else?

Badger looks frantically around the building. He considers running down the stairs into the basement, but remembers that few of his companions can see well in the dark, and it may be a tactical blunder. Almost as a reflex when stressed and out of options, Badger reaches into his pouch, feels the familiar touch of the rod, and activates it...

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
The smell of roast turkey, baked honey ham, and sauted root vegetables and mushrooms wafts into the air as the group finds themselves standing on the soft moss carpet of the gnome home. The sound of the small waterfalls near the baths is the only sound, a thin cool breeze causes a shiver to run up your spines. The stars twinkle overhead through the gap in the ceiling far above. The multicolored twinkling gems that cast light around the room offer dim but festive lighting. Everyone takes a sigh of relief.
People shower, eat, and rest. In the shower the scrubbing of days of jungle travel and sweat off the skin leaves people looking pink, clean, and feeling great. The food is delicious. As you rest, wounds heal rapidly.
The only thing missing is your guide Azaka who fled into the jungle. However, if anyone can track you down with ease, it will be Azaka.
"Thank you Badger, that was getting a little bit overwhelming. My apologies for making such a ruckus. Though I do wonder... is the rod just laying on the ground waiting for someone, or something to pick it up?" Always the pessimist, she looks up at the roof of the cave and mutters to herself, "Hopefully we don't all expand into the inside of someone's treasure chest..."
When the group gathers after resting refreshing, Mandra will suggest that they wait until first light to emerge from the pocket dimension. "Perhaps we could strategize a way to move this group through the city a bit more stealthily this time. We could keep to the buildings and send someone invisible up ahead to scout the route?"
Well fed, cleaned, and feeling quite safe, the group sits around the table. This place had once held fourteen members, now only held six. Boris, Badger, Mandra, Sickle, Silas, and Ham sit about with little conversation. The jungle had taken its toll and the trip to Omu had cost them, both in lives and spirit. Worn down and with the prospect of a combative dangerous city ahead of them, they spent their time turning their will onto the task at hand. Mandra sat quietly, blot clot filled eyes, skin largely sewn up and the undead energy somehow keeping everything together. Ham sat, seemingly unaffected by any dour mood as he chomped happily on some fruit cakes, occasionally stopping to offer some to those around him. Boris, having spent a good amount of time cleaning and oiling the groups armor stood in a cleared area swinging a blade in set motions. Sedrik's loss had been abrupt, and it was clear that he was dealing with his own emotions. His face angry and red as he swing the blade with brute force.
Sickle was brooding, the ring on his finger covered in frost, quiet and thoughtful, a deep furrow on his brow as the ring received the occasional suspicious or curious glance from the group.
Mandra, "So, is someone going to be invisible and scouting? Who do we select? Or is there another strategy for us moving about the city?"

Let us prepare our spells and defenses, and I will return us to Omu. Then we shall see what awaits us and make more informed decisions...

Sickle speaks up. “I’m not sure how stealthy I can be as a whole, but I can move through some of the more tangled places without hindrance. I can also aid the party in being less detectable as we move throughout the city. Also, if we go back right away, we should be prepared in case they’ve left anyone to guard the house we were in. I am sure there will be plenty of undead here, but the Yuan-Ti are who I am most concerned about.”
