One commoner is eased off of the door, the trident coming out without causing any more damage. The man slips to the ground, leaning against the wall, but still very much alive.

Reginald will slowly approach the door and check to see if ti is lock and then slowly open it a crack to peak out the door to see if anyone is close by. If no one is outside the door he will venture forth and then hopefully as silently as he can, move toward the chanting sound, signaling Bella to follow along behind and keep a look out behind them.
Bella looks askance at the helping hand, embarrassed she needs it but takes it. She moves toward the door but Reginald gets there first. As he goes to open the door, she tries to get his attention, pointing at the door and the hinges. There may have been a reason a single window was left open, a reason beyond forgetfulness. Unfortunately, he doesn't see her gestures and she sighs inwardly and mouths, "Amateur," as the huge goliath cracks the door to peak out. He didn't even listen at the door first to see how close the chanting was.
Before she slips out the door behind him, Bella scans the area outside the door with all her senses, then follows.
Seruk is able to slip a trident out of a second victom, easing the still-living human to the ground. There remains 4 more victoms to save...
Bella and Reginald
You move out into the hall and make your way to where you can see down into the common area... A human gladiator leads the chanting in the common area as 2 cult fanatics walk back and forth between the common area and the courtyard, making sure the ritual is progressing according to plan. Spread out between the two areas are 4 cultists with tridents, guarding several bound victims who look to be ready to be sacrificed at the conclusion of the ritual.
Quietly whispering to Bella, "Do we attack now and make enough noise for the others to charge in, or wait till they come in and then attack, possibly risking the lives of the ones down there as we are not sure when this accursed ritual will end."

Bella would just as soon as let the ritual conclude. The foolish humans were nothing to her and, besides, maybe the ritual executions...she cut off that train of thought. She held up a finger to indicate he should wait. She considered Reginald's words, and really studies the ritual in progress, then focuses on the door, looking to see if it is locked or barred.
ooc: She'd like to know what the ritual is and who it is for. Also, you mention a courtyard. Is that part open to the sky?

The Inn is an oddly shaped building situated at the juncture of the Triboar Trail and the High Road. Two entrances into the building are apparent: a smaller one at the northern corner, and a larger one, suitable for beasts of burden and wagons, near the first.
The commoners pinned to the door are at the smaller door.
The smaller doorway leads into a cloak room, and another door bars the way into the common room from there. The larger doors lead into the courtyard, where there are stables and a smithy.
Front Door
The two of you helping to free the commoners gets the last 4 down without causing them any more harm, and they are alive, but unconscious as they lay near the front door. The front door is locked if you check it.
Bella and Reginald
Bella recognizes the symbols used in the ritual as symbols to Talos, which makes sense with the storm raging outside still. She would be able to tell the door to the cloak room is unlocked, but cannot see the front door from here, as it is on the far side of the cloak room door. The doors to the courtyard are unlocked, and she sees cultists going through them. The courtyard itself is outside.
There is no stealthy path from the second floor to the cloak room door. You would have to cross the common room, where the ritual is taking place.
Bhardrus
Your magic allows you to detect that there are at least 5 people moving around inside, with at least another 3 that seem stationary. As you cannot see any of these people, you cannot actually target them to catch any of their thoughts.
Bella suppresses a sigh. She has several course open to her but none are wonderful. She'd prefer to charm one or two of the cultists and get those fools to open the door. Now, that would be run, but it presented as much danger as getting to the cloakroom. She turns to Reginald and whispers, "Can't see a way to get the door open. You're call. If you wanna attack, I'll shoot the human gladiator with an arrow to start. I guess you could call out at the same time."
As she does this, she uses her talented fingers to call a small earthenware jar from her Bag of Holding.
Bhardrus casts mage armor then pulls the pipes of haunting out of his bag. He blows a brief few notes before settling in to start playing a truly haunting melody on them
DC 15 wis save or be frightened of Bhardrus for every creature of my choice in 30 feet. I'd like to whammy the five baddies, buuuut: I also understand the fear doesn't actually affect them if I'm not in sight. I'm looking to draw their attention outside and away from where they are

As she waited for Reginald to decide on a course of action, Bella carefully and with utmost stealth opened the jar and coated the head of an arrow in the substance within. She then closed the jar and returned it to her Bag of Holding, keeping the arrow ready to be drawn and fired.
Stealth 31
ooc: She's coated the arrowhead with Drow poison. A creature subjected to this poison must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is also unconscious while poisoned in this way. The creature wakes up if it takes damage or if another creature takes an action to shake it awake.

With a shrug Reginald whispers back, "Here goes nothing."
Then takes his pistol out and aims over the banister at the one chanting and opens fire. Hoping his loud shots would signal the ones outside to come rushing in.

Pistol #2: Attack: 20 Damage: 13
Then he will creep down the hallway to another firing position where he can possibly get a shot on the ones guarding the tied up people.
