“Well I think the cartographer should take a good look and duplicate it as much as possible. There may be a need to backtrack, and if I recall we were asked to map this place as we went. Ha, the owner has gone and done the job for us.” Rurik says.
Noticing the buttons, Rurik asks, “Hey Melady, do ya see this contraption? Think it’s trapped?”
(Just so you know, I tend to call for investigation to check things for traps. Been allowing perception for doors for now, but Melady is not going to be the go-to-person for investigation.)
"Probably should have someone better than me at investigating do a check of them." Melady says with a shrug.
"Well, who is going to push one of them and find out what it does?" Melady asks as the group takes turns looking over the map's buttons and trying various methods to check for traps.
Tower. This carving represents Halaster’s extradimensional tower, and the tiny glyph above it is Halaster’s rune. If this button is pressed, a magical, disembodied male voice fills the room and says in Common, “Gate access to Halaster’s Tower from level 23 only.”
(Also assuming you go ahead and press the other two now...)
Flaming Skull. This carving represents Skullport. Each time this button is pressed, a magical, disembodied male voice fills the room and says in Common, “Gate access to Skullport disabled.”
Comet. This carving represents Stardock, the asteroid orbiting Toril that is connected by a gate to level 16. Each time this button is pressed, a magical, disembodied male voice fills the room and says in Common, “Gate access to Stardock from level 16 only.”
Stigr will yawn and look around, "Is this the best way up here?" Gesturing to the way the newcomers came down, "And should we take the dead guy with us?"
“I don’t know about taking him with us. Let him have his way. I’d rather not be walking around with the dead, he’s tainted. The the rot do what he will. As for resting yeah that sounds like a good plan, but, (Rurik looks up at the throne) maybe not here.”

“Well I can’t say I’m better or worse, so I guess I could take a crack at it.”
Investigation 9
(Roll again, Melady will give you the help action.)
Investigation 2
wasn’t meant to be. oh well lol
“On second thought., we should leave that for someone else later.”
You definitely think they have no traps.
Watching their fumbling attempts, Stigr will move over, "Melady, could you help me with this for a moment."

"Guess you were right, not trapped."
" Not to pry, but .. may I?" Trin asks, squeezing in for a better look.

Ooc: what is up with these rolls?
"Well, who is going to push one of them and find out what it does?" Melady asks as the group takes turns looking over the map's buttons and trying various methods to check for traps.
After his check, Stigr will step back and spend 10 minutes re-summoning his imp.
Samantha is going to push one of the buttons. "I'll give it a shot."
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
which one? Do you want me to just do a random roll? There are 3 buttons.
Rurik will say “push the throne one!”
(Assuming you meant tower...)

“Well, that’s settled. Um, which level are we on? Any thoughts? Shall we keep going?” Rurik asks the group.
"We might want to rest a night before we move on, then we can go from there." Maximus suggests.
Stigr will yawn and look around, "Is this the best way up here?" Gesturing to the way the newcomers came down, "And should we take the dead guy with us?"

(I meant wasn't it this room, or the room before that led up to the Yawning Portal?)
Samantha shrugs. "We should follow the mission I suppose. If we're looking for supplies, maybe we should head to Skullport."
