With a guttural roar, Rurik rushes towards the closest ghast. With his shield in one hand and his sword in the other, he swings twice with as much strength as he can muster.
Attack: 11 Damage: 6
Attack: 9 Damage: 5
Shadowlight will look for an opportunity to attack the same ghast that Rurik is battling.
Owlix will observe the fight from the air, flying close to the ceiling, circling the room. If a Ghast attacks a member of the party, he will use the help action to distract it, screeching as it *flies past* it's face.
Ooc: hold action, trigger=attack party member, action=help action. *Flyby.

Rurik and shadowlight take down another of the ghasts.
The single remaining Ghast attacks Trin... Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: 11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 slashing damage. If the target is a creature other than an undead, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Trin narrowly dodges the ghast's attack. If it's still moving, Trin will run it through 13 DMG: 8 and stab at it once again to ensure its demise. 23 DMG: 5
With the entire group focused ont he single remaining enemy you quickly put it down.
We are out of combat.
This room contains the remains of a mining operation. Pickaxes and hammers litter the floor, as do the gnawed bones, torn black robes, and rubber boots of a female half-elf wizard. Notably absent is the half-elf’s skull.
Copper Vein. An exposed bit of stonework has a thick vein of copper ore running through it.
Litter. A scrap of paper lies on the floor.
The scrap of paper is another partial entry from Trenzia’s log that reads, “Day 10. With lightning and copper wires, I created a pack of ghouls. Hal was not impressed. He says I’m not ready for Dweomercore and its arcane secrets. I’ll show him. His flesh golem has given me an idea for a trap more devious than any Hal could devise. Lightning — is there anything it can’t do?”
There is no path forward here. The only ways forward appear to be the shute in the copper-plated room where you fought the golem and skull, or back the way you came further to try one of the tunnels you have not gone through yet.
“How are we all doing,” Rurik asks as he finds somewhere to grab a seat to relax for a minute. “Does anyone need some healing or a small rest? It’s so darn easy to lose track of time down here.” Shadowlight comes up to sit next to him.
”Mapmaker, where should we venture to next for you to map...take our chances in a chute with an undisclosed end, or venture back to one of those unused tunnels. Can’t quite recall where we were at last.”
Trin notes the diacovery of Trezia's diary entry in his own journal. "I will scout down the chute with Owlix's eyes. If it's a dead end, he should be able to fly back up." With that, Owlix alights and heads down the chute as the elf's eyes turn solid white, his body unmoving as he sees Owlix's path unfold as he ventures down the chute.
"Thanks Trin, was about to suggest as much. Then we can either rest here the night or just take a short break barricading the door from potential intruders. Then we travel back to where the first branch was and pick another direction. Also if anyone is need of healing let me know." Maximus says.
Edit: damage = 11
Maximus will move up behind Samantha and then attempt to Turn the Ghasts.
