"Well, I see two options. We could go investigate the Orcs, or we could check up on Mirna and her kids, since the last we saw of them they were running out of the Manor having just told us the Redbrands murdered her husband. I'm sure the town will look after them, but she did also mention some undead that overran her pervious home. Thundertree, I think she mentioned? In the midst of the upheaval here, maybe we should check they're being looked after, and at least get some information about this Thundertree?"
Squelch picks himself off the floor next to Brandor and stumbles out of the room. He listens to Grum and perks up when undead are mentioned. <Grums voice> "Undead that overran her previous home. Thundertree..." His head then dips low from an obvious hangover.

"We came across Mirna yesterday, locked up by the Redbrands with her children. She told us the Redbrands had murdered her husband. We set them free but didn't have a chance to see them safely home. Could you tell us where we might find their house so that we can check in on them and make sure they made it back safely?
It might also be a nice touch if the town made arrangements to look after them, perhaps provide meals for them for a while, for example. I'm not telling you what to do at all, it's up to you how you might want to handle it, but since hospitality is your area of expertise and you do such a great job of it, I thought I'd let you know about their situation."
"Oh yes I'd heard about that yesterday. It was a shock when they suddenly returned to town, just a shame her husband Thel didn't make it... I believe Sister Garaele is currently assisting them in the home while they recover. Good that you're thinking of them! They live in the small brown house next to the Sleeping Giant."
Whilst the rest of the group are sleeping in, Grum nods to <Squelch> and prepares to head to find Mirna. He notices that Garr and himself shared a room last night and both opted to sleep on the floor. With a chuckle, he waits a final few minutes for the group to arise from their slumber, before setting out.
With a massive yawn, Callie finally stirs from her slumber. After getting dressed and ready for the day, she sleepily heads over to the common room... and immediately snaps awake when she notices Grum and <Squelch> getting ready to leave. She quickly hurries over with a blush forming on her face when she realizes just how late in the morning she woke up.
"M-morning, Grum, Squelch! Where are we headed off to today? Orcs? Politics? Thundertree?"
"We're just going to check in with Mirna, given we set them free from the Redbrands but never saw them safely home. And if we can find more information on the undead nuisance at Thundertree from her, then that's maybe our next task. Is that ok with you?"
Since Callie is now up and ready to join them, Grum will rouse the others all from their sleep too, so they can go together.
"Trilena also suggested that Sister Garaele may be around with them, so it might be good to get acquainted with her too."
You all exit the Stonehill Inn and make your way back to the familiar road next to the Sleeping Giant. You follow Trilena's directions to Mirna's house. Knocking on the door, an elven woman in a light gray cloak opens to greet you all. "Ah. You must be the six that freed Mirna's family and got rid of those Redbrands. Please, come in."
She leads you through the house to a shared bedroom towards the back where Mirna and her two children are having breakfast in their beds. "Thank you all for rescuing us again. You are all very welcome in my home."
They all look weary and bruised but better than when you first found them.
Throughout the morning Garr had avoided the group mostly, and even lingered a little behind on their way to Mirna's. Inside the house he hangs towards the back and gives a nod to Mirna before leaning against a wall.
Brandor comes down stairs chipper as ever. Seemingly immune to hangovers. He grabs a few hardrolls on the way out of the Inn and eats them casually as they make their way across town to Mirna's. Taking a queue from Garr, the dwarf posts up against a wall happy to enjoy the morning air.
"How are you Mirna? I know circumstances have not been kind to you, but we wanted to make sure that you know the Redbrands are dealt with, and hopefully you can begin to move forward. We are truly sorry for your loss, and on that note, we thought that if you felt you might struggle to stay here with the memories it holds off your husband, you might appreciate the opportunity to begin a new life with your children back in your old home in Thundertree. Whether that's something you'd like or not, we thought it would be good to rid the place of the undead scourge that ruined it anyway."
(Have we met Sister Garaele yet, or just heard about her? Assuming that is who the other woman is...)
<Squelch> approach Mirna with an insistent look on his avian face. <Grum's voice> "Undead scourge..." <Grum's voice> "Never liked leaving a monster alive!"
(You had only heard Sister Garele's name through Trilena, though Malthaza'ar probably would know her as caretaker of the Shrine of Luck in town)
"I was beginning to lose hope that nothing could be done about them when Thel..." She has a look of hearbreak in her eyes but carries on. "Thank you for restoring my hope, and saving this town. Now Thundertree... I lived there when I was a young girl until the eruption of Mount Hotenow. Ash covered the skies and darkened the lands while the area was burned and destroyed. Most of the town actually survived somehow, until the events were almost immediately followed up by a plague of strange undead. Most of the town had to run or be killed, and my family was the former. This was about thirty or so years ago so I dont know what became of the town or if those undead things are still there but I haven't the means nor heart to return."
Though relieved to see that Mirna and her family are safe and sound, Callie can't stop a frown coming over her features on hearing the tale of Thundertree. "That's... terrible. You said this happened thirty years ago? I couldn't imagine..." An image springs, unbidden, in her head. The glades and fields around the old family manor lying desecrated and fallow, and the manor itself barren, empty, and in ruins. She shivers and tries to push the thought out of her mind. She's a different person now. She's already left that life behind, and good riddance to it. The people of Phandalin, and her dear friend Gundren, should be her focus now, not imaginary day terrors. Looking up to Mirna, she asks, "If you don't mine our asking, where exactly is Thundertree? Or this Mount Hotenow, for that matter?"
"If you follow the Triboar Trail to the High Road then north to Neverwinter, you'll come across a river. On the southern side along the river is the town of Thundertree and way further up north is the mountain. I hope those directions are clear enough, I'm not the best at them and I don't know exact distances."
"Thank you Mirna, I'm sure we'll be able to find it from your directions."
Grum turns to the other woman, "You must be Sister Garaele? We had heard that you were helping Mirna, and were thankful to hear that she's not having to fend by herself at the moment. If there's anything you need once we come back from Thundertree, I'm sure we'll be happy to help if we can."
"Indeed I am. I may have something for you all when you return, though I'm sure you all have your hands full at the moment. If I'm not at Mirna's home I will be at the Shrine of Luck down by the Town Green." She replies as she replaces a bandage on the boy's arm.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We'll look forward to meeting you on our return."
Assuming there's nothing else anyone wants to do/ask, Grum will head out and lead the way following Mirna's directions, keeping an eye out for any more ambushes, given previous experience.
