As you push onto the stone, it revolves open and reveals a chamber to the north end of a large natural cavern, but it has been finished with dressed stone block walls and a flagstone floor. Several barrels are stored against the walls here, along with a number of empty crates, straw for packing, hammers, pry bars, and nails.
The cavern continues for some distance to the south. You can make out several passages that open up off the larger cavern, and what looks like a deep pit or crevasse in the floor.
As the door opens and the party move out into the chamber at this north end, Grum takes a good look around him, for anything generally of significance, but also for and footprints, tracks or signs of where and Redbrands might be.
A cold breeze flows through from the large natural cavern, carrying with it the faint scent of decaying flesh. A crevasse divides the cavern and is flanked by two rough stone columns that support the twenty-foot-high ceiling. Two arched wooden bridges span the chasm. In the storage room you guys are in right now there is nothing of significance, and you don't see any footprints in this area.
<Squelch> motions for the party to stop. <Old man gravely voice> "Here's yer cut for the job. Don't ever let anybody claim what's yours, and don't ever claim anyone else's...unless you mean to back it up." <Squelch> hands out coins to each member of the party.
(Four party members get 11 GP and 2 SP.
One party member and Squelch get 1 red garnet and 1 GP and 2 SP)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Callie absentmindedly takes the coins offered by <Squelch>, too busy studying the room to offer any comment beyond a hushed, "Thanks." She inspects the construction work for any structural weaknesses, then tries to see how far down the crevasse goes.
(1ep = 5sp, just to clarify. Originally I wasn't gonna use ep but its in the adventure book so I thought why not)
The fissure is 5 to 10 feet wide and 20 feet deep, and feels unnaturally cold the closer you get to it. As you come close though you hear whispers in your ear, a disembodied and feral voice speaking directly into your mind.
"CaLyVorrA! AbAnDonEd youR fAMilY hmM? WhaT iS it yOu are Doing HErE? In MY caVe?"
Callie recoils from the rift as though she's been slapped. She looks around at her fellows and whispers, "Did anyone else hear that voice?" before she slowly edges back towards the fissure. She readies her bow, though she doesn't knock an arrow to the string just yet. Voice shaking, she calls out.
<Squelch> once again focuses on his connection to the boundary between life and death. His eyes turn dark, and he looks around.
(Eyes of the Grave: "As an action, you know the location of any undead within 60 ft. of you that isn’t behind total cover and that isn’t protected from divination magic until the end of your next turn. You can use this feature +4 per long rest."

No undead in the area, also Garr (soz forgot to answer before) you don't see anything else of value nor the creature or person speaking into your mind.
Grum now understands that Callie wasn't talking to him. Unsure how to reply to someone who's speaking directly into your head, Grum just opts for the out-loud approach. "Food? Is that what you want?"

"I don't hear a voice, Callie. And we know your name because you introduced yourself to us, way back on Gundren's cart, remember? What's going on?"
