Taman and Flynn hide to either side of the door, waiting for the door to be released and the four of them escape while the ghouls go after the mage hand and dagger.
Cimeri hits the two buttons. Scoria notices the ghouls have stopped pushing on the door; suddenly, they begin attacking the door itself as it shudders to their strikes. She looks back with concern at the others.
"Grease?" says Flynn. "I could grease the floor right in front of the door?"
Taman is busy Guiding Cimeri, who opens the chest on the first try. "Finally!" she yells as the lid pops open. Her eyes dart over the contents: golden coins stockpiled under three scrolls of vellum... and a book bound in flesh.
Scoria gathers what she can into her rucksack, as Flynn finishes casting grease on the floor and begins casting mage hand to hold the dagger out.
[Stealth checks for Cimeri and Scoria plsssssss]
[Housecleaning: Taman, pls roll a DC 10 straight up check to see if each crossbow bolt happened to lose its essence in use against the specter]
[Yup, one of the bolts was destroyed, other two are ok]
Scoria's innate ability erases all traces of the adventurers passage into the room as each hero presses into the shadows of the walls. With a sudden smash, the door Scoria had latched shut bursts inward, and a pack of ghouls rushes into the room. Surging toward the dancing dagger in front of them, they fail to notice the slippery floor and careen headlong into the far wall, a jumble of grey, skinny arms and legs.
[I'm assuming you're running; will provide a map and we'll run this as a 'Chase'. Y'all are currently about 20 ft ahead of the ghouls and have initiative - let's go Flynn, Taman, Cimeri, Scoria.
You can dash up to 3 times plus your CON modifier. You can take extra dashes by making a DC 10 CON check at the end of your turn or gain a level of exhaustion. So Flynn could take 5 dashes, Taman 6, Cimeri 5, Scoria 6.]
(Well at least the ghouls are prone, so that will take half of their movement to get up...)
"Time for stealth is done..." Taman calls, and moves at a dash toards the way out.
Flynn follows suit. He pauses only long enough to cast mold earth on the door frame of the door. He tries to make shapes appear on the stone, to make it impossible to open the door. (Lasts for an hour. though doesn't make the door any stronger...)
(Should have noted - pass without trace drops when Scoria rages)
It takes Taman's call for Scoria not to just start laying into the ghouls - threats are to be destroyed, not run from. But her rage is driven by the need to protect, to defend - these things, these people are mine, and no ghoul can have them! And so, once the rest of the party is out and running, she takes up the rear, dashing at full speed.
The adventurers rocket through the halls the way they came in, finding no obstructions; they exit the cave. Calabrax is waiting on the shore, scroll unfurled. "Stand still; This'll only take a moment" he barks before uttering an incantation.
In a flash of blue light, they are transported to a circle of runes on a forest floor. Dark pine trees with enormous spider webs block out the sky. Injured and dead Harpers are laid on stretchers and the remains of skeletons, zombies, demons, constructs, and more litter the ground, Before them is the monolithic tower of black stone that Zaldara calls home. The smell of flesh burning and ring of steel emanates from the place of horrors.
"Stay here!" calls the voice of Remalia Haventree. The elf stands behind them, her left leg crisp with burned flesh and her right arm limp and bleeding. She screams at the tower, "Zaldara! It is done! We have your phylactery!"
An instant later, there is a terrible crack. Appearing before you is a woman with a face that is half beautiful, half skull. Despite her ragged breath and multiple fresh wounds, the Duchess of Rot is still clearly a force to be reckoned with. She points a finger at Remallia, and lifts her high into the air, and drops the elf back to the ground unconscious. The lich then turns to you.
"I'll take that back," she says with a weak, but defiant voice, pointing to the book in Scoria's arms.
[Busted DM! I was doing a little theatre of the mind, squares are 5 ft.- mold earth use negates the chase. Nice!]
Taman pulls out one of the magical crossbow bolts and holds it pressed with the tip to the book's cover. "Try that with me and I'll just drive this into the book and we'll see what happens..." Taman says evenly. "Someone go and give her one of our healing potions." Taman instructs his companions, nodding to the fallen woman the liche just attacked.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The rage having barely faded from her, Scoria is instantly brought back into it by the attack on Remallia. The plan was to threaten the lich via her phylactery, wasn't it? Someone here better be able to put together a persuasive argument, because Scoria's ready to just snap her neck, as many times as it takes.
"I'll rip it half!" she roars, and starts to do just that, "You know what we want - do it or else! 16 (athletics - if it should have been just strength, -2 from that, and 5 for a charisma-based intimidation check)
(sorry Flynn, didn't see your post when I made mine)
Cimeri did not participate in that conversation - everything again was happening way too fast for someone used to slow moving life of a small village. She would not be able to do much anyway - her appearance was doubtfully intimidating enough. But she could add some harmless tremors in the ground to accompany much more impressive moves and words of Scoria. So she did it, just for the dramatic effect.
(never though I would use Thaumaturgy at all, yet, here I am)
(Scoria should be able to roll with advantage, since Taman is pretty much giving her the help action. If allowed he would also cast guidance on her...)
Guidance: 4
(Understand if guidance is not allowed here, since it is happening very quickly...)
Flynn gives a dagger to his mage hand and has the hand wave it around in the middle of the room. The first thing the ghouls would see.
(If we are to this point yet...)
Taman and Flynn hide to either side of the door, waiting for the door to be released and the four of them escape while the ghouls go after the mage hand and dagger.
Taman stealth: 26
Flynn stealth: 17
Cimeri would leave the last (holding the book) and shut the door behind them with Thaumaturgy

Start at the red dots:
OOC: I mentioned closing the door :) "20 ft ahead" - does it mean a square is 10 ft, not 5?
If others run - so does Cimeri. But keeps behind to watch out for ghouls - ghouls can be fought! At least she hopes they can.
