Seeing part of the group take pot shots at something (not seeing into the large room where he is at) Smoke will use his Feline agility to move back down a part of the stairs to call to those still at the 1st floor or on the stairs. The fight is not over yet, they found more foes. Then Smoke rushes back up again using the rest of his movement to get in range the hooded figure and if being able to reach him fire another arrow from outside the large room (through the doorway).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Weylin, as you cast Sacred Flame, his DEX save is: 23 If he fails, he takes 1 radiant damage.
Aldin, as you look around the room, you see what appears to be a rather genuine former temple. Signs of obvious use of the temple show that it was most likely used for a largely practiced religion in the region. On the podium that is placed onto the raised platform, you see a closed book. It's very large and seems to be a religious book of teachings, or something similar, you surmise. If you'd like, you can make both a Religion and an Investigation check to attempt to decipher what the book is about.
Smoke, the arrow whizzes past the hooded figure, and he, seemingly annoyed now and more rushed, continues to dig through the piles of rubble, throwing stone vases, small statues, and even some rusted jewelry, out of the way.

Seeing the hooded man, Ash will call out, barely paying attention to the monastery worker’s reply.
“Someone back me up! Close up on him!” she yells as she runs at the man, casting primal savagery as she runs. Her fingernails lengthen into poison-dripping talons and she will try to rake at the man’s neck
Ash, your nails barely miss the neck of the figure. Then, the hooded figure will finally uncover what he's been looking for. A crumbling stone coffin, covered in dirt and moss. The hooded figure lifts the top of the casket and it breaks as it clashes down to the floor. In the coffin lies the corpse of an elderly Elvin man--Vandur the Great. But in Vandur's hands...nothing. The hooded figure curses.
"It's not here! Someone must've gotten here before me..." the hooded figure says in rage. Then, he turns to the party, his eyes glowing and gleaming with anger as he takes back his hood to reveal his face. Some of you immediately recognize him--he's a Cambion. Then, from his cloak he draws out a stone similar to the ones that Black Cat and Ash have seen--an obsidian stone with a golden rune engraved into the center.
The Cambion raises the stone to the sky, and shadows begin to spill down from the gem. The inky darkness engulfs the figure, wrapping around him in a furious storm of magical blackness. Then, in an instant, the shadows explode outward a few feet, and the hooded figure is gone.

"Damn" Nirug swears as he lowers his crossbow. He then flinches a little and looks around the temple and whispers, "sorry" after realizing it's still a temple.
Turning to Jorel he complains with a huff, "Nah, he got away with magic. But hes a demon a demon, go figure. Good news is, whatever he wanted he couldnt find."
As the fiend vanishes Smoke will stay alert a few moments more before realising the Cambion is really gone. He releases a short sigh of relief as the group was getting hurt.
Then Smokes eyes light up as one side of his mouth lifts into a smile thinking he found a new monster that is a challenge to the group. Something they would need to be stronger to beat. A new goal to follow. Smoke will not forget this demon.
He will continue to walk around more cheerful then to be expected after such a fight. Look around everyone, and someone check out that corpse. He was interested in it for some reason. Smoke will walk to the monastery worker. Is there anything you can tell us about what he was searching? It seems it was not here anymore.
The monastery worker looks to Smoke. "He needed the orb. I have no clue why, but it's powerful. According to local legend, Vandur could never part with his magical orb. Always had it on him. I wouldn't have been surprised myself if that was where it was hidden. But he said it wasn't here anymore? I wonder...no, that couldn't be it."

Black Cat will look around the area for anything of value and possibly the small coffin the cambion was holding paying particular attention to the gems and jewelry.
Black Cat, you spot a few mundane bracelets that shimmer but are only made of simple metals such as bronze and silver. You do find one thing of value--what appears to be a hilt of a sword. With no blade, the shining silver hilt has a sparkling ruby in the center of it. You can easily slip your findings into your bag or clothes without anyone noticing.

Nirug will join Black Cat in searching though the area. He will keep his eyes open to not only a physical object but also for any writing or symbols or any oddities.
Nirug, when sifting through the piles of objects, you uncover white writing written onto the stone floor below the pile. It reads: "The Ascendency was here."

Weylin, all that you can recall is that you've heard it in whispers before. It's a religion but is more often referred to as a cult. You can't quite remember the specifics of the group.

The monastery worker looks to Jorel with a nervous look in his eyes. "Well, these people came in a few days ago, asked if they could use the temple for religious purposes. They did all kinds of strange rituals--I didn't recognize any of it. After they learned that the government-controlled and owned this town, they became very angry, stormed around, threatened me. I didn't really understand it. I mean, every Eastern town is owned and controlled by the government, right?"

Hmm, so they werent from around here Smoke says to himself in response to the monastery worker. Can you describe these people? Where did they come from? Did they ask questions? Were they equipped, dressed fancy? What did they use for their rituals?
Smoke's face clearly shows hes both curious and excited at perhaps getting a new lead in their newly forming adventure. His tail curls up as he gets impatient and starts to speak faster with every question.
