Weylin, your foot goes directly through the board and it falls. You are, however, able to grab ahold of one of the neighboring boards as you begin to fall. You must roll a Dexterity Saving Throw.
Aldin, you trip and crash onto the bridge, your figure smashing through the wood as you skid across the splintering old wood. About 10 feet away from the edge of the bridge, you are lodged in the wood, and it is difficult enough to keep yourself up, let alone stay above. Anyone that has crossed the bridge may attempt a Strength check to get Aldin out of the predicament. Aldin, if you'd like to try to get out of where you are lodged by yourself, make that Strength check with disadvantage.
Smoke and Nirug, you are able to successfully cross the bridge, stumbling over the wood at times, but easily making it.
Nirug is just barely able to haul Aldin out from his position, but the extra weight he is carrying throws off his balance. Luckily (because of your earlier Dexterity check), you are able to regain balance and reach the other side.
Weylin is still holding on (Dexterity Saving Throw needs to be made whenever you're available).
A barrage of arrows is fired by the ranged legions. As many of the [party have disappeared over the bridge, and the melee fighters cannot cross with their heavy armor, for fear of falling, they have lost their perfect synchronicity and calm, the arrows firing at a swift rate, their shots inaccurate with hurry. The first round of arrows mostly hit the top of the bridge, the arrows digging into the rotting wood. A few arrows fly near those on the far side of the bridge, but none hit you directly.

As soon as Aldin is up, he gives a quick pat on Nirug's shoulder in thanks and does not misuse his friends generosity. He moves immediately off the bridge and takes a few deep breaths, not realizing he was holding it most of that fretful moment.
As Nirug goes for Weylin Aldin begins to set up his hunting trap at the end of the bridge, for all the good it will do.
As soon as the last person is across the bridge, Black Cat will cut the ropes and then make his way the opposite direction we want to go to hopefully give them enemy a false trail. Once out of sight of the legion, will hope the group can find a path in the direction they want to go.
(For now we can say that Weylin got himself out, because of the DEX Save)
Once you are all on that side of the bridge, you all catch a glance of the general that has finally made his way to the front at last. He gives you all a scornful glare, before turning around and leading the legions away.
You now all see before you a splitting path. The one that Black Cat took, that seems to spiral downward into a deep grove at the bottom of the mountain, the other begins to lead upward steeply, with hardly any cover. It winds around the side of Mount Tyranvar, as you can spot it in the distance. From your basic geographical knowledge, and anything you may have heard on the location of St. Jarren, you can guess it would be the trail leading up.

As you watch the legions disappear, you prepare for the day ahead of you, and for the journey that is to come. As you begin your trek, you feel a sense of pride to what you have accomplished. But not only that. A new surge of strength. All your players are now level 2.
(Something I forgot to mention is that at the beginning of each new part, your characters will level up)
Just some general information: the path winds up around the side of a mountain named Mount Tyranvar, to St. Jarren. It is steep, and St. Jarren lies just slightly more than 35 miles away, which is roughly 2 hard-working days of travel, perhaps 3.

"No worse for wears," Nigrug says while casting a glance back at the bridge. He then turns his gaze to the two paths. "If our destination is St. Jarren and it's at the top of the mountain, then why did the others go down? Someone want to go tell them they went the wrong way?"
Black Cat looking back over his shoulder sees the legion turning away so motions to Jorel that they might as well turn around and go the way they need to go and join the others.
Ahh the rush of dangerSmoke says as he smiles. His tail swirling around still full of adrenaline. Onto our next destination! He says as he starts his march on the path leading up the mountain.
As they move up the mountain Smoke will check for tracks if possible to see if the mountain is home to other creatures.
(survival 15, advantage for orc/gnoll tracks 18)
Smoke will be in front (does not have to be very first person but in first 3). I wonder what we will find next he says to himself

Ash will druidcraft a little illusion of the mountain trail that lets her predict the weather - what weather will we have today?

Aldin greets Jorel and Black Cat as they come back, "Thanks you two for sending tracks in the other direction. It was a good idea, even if it wasn't needed this time."
He moves to the front of the group, his crossbow out but casual as he takes point. He doesn't move with stealth but caution. It is going to be a long walk, no reason to slow them down unnecessarily.
Smoke, as far as you can tell there are several groupings of footprints in the dirt, all of them so close together and muddled from age that they don't stand out by race to you. But it is obvious people have used this trail before. Even recently, perhaps.
Ash, you don't spot any signs of the Legion or previous travellers. But you do spot a shortcut. Opposed to the winding trail that winds around the whole mountain and upward, this alternate route slices straight through the mountain and scaling very steeply. The only issue is it appears to be very difficult terrain, with an unpolished trail. You'd have to climb over many sharp rocks and rock piles, and you don't even know if it's faster. But it does seem to go up much quicker, so maybe...
Ash, you also foresee that the weather will be rather pleasant today. Warmth will permeate the cloudcover and shine for the remainder of the day. But on the edge of your view, you can spot clouds gather. A storm might be on the verge.
Ash, you can spread dirt and twigs over the footprints with relative ease, missing a few but overall doing a fine job.

Having jumped over Aldin to get to the other side, Nirug then stops and reaches down to grab the man trying to pull him up from his predicament.
