Some speculation runs through the party's minds as they talk about what the "master craft" may be as well as some curiosity about the identity of the project's overseer.

As they return to the main junction, the term "overseer" was stuck in Lia's mind. While she has no way for sure who it may be, she has met someone with that title before, Lyssida the Overseer of Nightmares. It may be coincidence, but the circumstances surrounding the figure described in the letters - namely, the fact the figure in question was only seen or spoken to by one person - make it hard to completely discount the possibility.
When they reach the junction, Kysdiane suggests they move down the northeast corridor.
The group decides to travel down the northeastern passage.
As the move through, Renata sees that the floor of the hallway slowly begins to be littered with stones that get larger and larger as time goes by.
Soon everyone sees one of some rails on the ground as if they was supposed to be there. Some ways down the rail, a rusted mine cart full of stones and raw ore is seen.
But those were not as spectacular as what they see at the very end. Half-buried in stone and rubble is a large machine that also seems to be on the rails. Only it seems that the only thing beyond it is solid rock.

Kysdiane steps boldly up to the machine, using some guidance to try and clear some of the stone and rubble around it so that everyone can get a better look.

While Kysdiane checks the rubble, Avia tries to investigate the unburied part of the machine, trying to see what type of machine it is. She casts guidance on herself, to help her see better.

"I'll just keep watch then." Lia says as the others start working around the machine. She stays back from the dirty work of clearing the rubble, and watches for anything odd or strange.
Kysdiane tries to move some of the stones out of the way for a better look at the strange machine. However, most of the stones were deceptively heavy for their size. As a result, he was unable to get much headway.
(Yes, investigation will work)
Avia takes the chance to inspect the contraption. She discovers a few things about it. Underneath, she finds out is actually not on the rails at all. Rather, it seems to had at one point, laid rails. It true method of movement seems to be a sort of tread that is shielded from the side. Despite being half-buried in rock and rubble, it is in remarkable condition. As far as she could tell there shouldn't be any reason why it isn't moving. It could even be as simple as finding a method to reactivate it, whether by finding a correct switch or even supplying the correct type of earthly energy.
As this is happening, Lia keeps on the lookout, but doesn't detect anything.

Wiping a bit of sweat away, Kysdiane steps back to admire his progress. As he does, he realizes just how little progress he has actually made and just shakes his head and joins Lia in keeping a lookout for anything that might sneak up on them while the others investigate.
Kysdiane joins Lia on the lookout. His eyes peeled and his ears keen to any strange sights and sounds. At the moment, he does not detect anything (holding this roll for future use).
"Anything useful inside that thing, or should we head back the other way?" Lia asks as the others continue poking and prodding at the device. "Seems likely some sort of digger or something, not sure what use it is to us if we get it up and running..."
The party agrees to move down the final unexplored tunnel. As they travel down it soon becomes apparent that at one point, it was a very successful mine shaft. With, at least, a dozen side tunnels that branch off into pitch black, remnants of ore along the walls and a number of tools that lay next to the walls.
The main corridor goes around 400 feet and expands to 30 feet wide before it ends in a stone wall that has three triangular stones jutting out of it. The stones are in a vague line around four feet.
A dozen feet from the wall is skeleton of a humanoid that has a pickaxe under one of its hands.

The general consensus is that despite the machine's condition, there doesn't seem to be very much reason to activate it outside of curiosity.
In light of this, they return to the main junction. (Will the last tunnel (southeast) be explored or will the group return to the elevator?)
