DoT sees that there is catwalk and how the pit operates. If a creature steps on the trapdoor, the lid flips open, dumping the creature into the pit. With a successful DC 15 Dexterity check, a creature can use thieves' tools to jam the lid shut. A mechanism resets the trap 1 minute after the door opens, pushing it back into the closed position. The mechanism is in the pit wall under the catwalk. A creature can jam it in the open position with a successful DC 15 Dexterity check using thieves' tools. If this check succeeds by 5 or more, the mechanism can be permanently disabled if desired.
"Here let me give you a hand with that..." Leon says, squatting down next to the one using the thieve's tools. He will point out helpful things as he works.
Leon gives the help on the thieve's tools check. (Grants advantage.)

You walk through the door to find this circular area is cobbled with cracked granite, upon which sprawl the bodies of four goblins, apparently slain in combat. One corpse stands with its back against the western wall, the spear that killed it still skewering it and holding it upright. Three wooden doors lead from this area. The one you came through, then one on the right and left. A hollow tower of loose masonry reaches thirty feet into the air, but the intervening floors and stairs are gone, except for a couple of crumbled ledges.
does anyone have thieves tools?
yes that is what i needed but it was not high enough
DoT will roll for investigation. 20

"I wish I had my tools with me... Does anyone have something to jam the mechanism?"
Trystan will help whoever is attempting this.
If you jam the mechanism the put stays shut and the door opens permanently
Once DoT tells everyone of the trap she found, Tolroc will say, "Let me have a shot at this."
He'll pull out his thieve's tools and attempt to disable the trap.
Disable check 11
(Here rests Tolroc)
OOC: is advantage given on that roll due to Trystan helping?
Yes he can

Leon gives the help on the thieve's tools check. (Grants advantage.)
Or someone else already did, never mind...
(Rolling again for advantage)

Dot will look through and search the goblin bodies as the others are checking out the doors "Do you think the others killed these Goblins?"

It Looks like there is a hallway that is very empy with some debris in the corner here
The masonry walls of this twenty-foot-wide hall are in poor repair. The far end has collapsed, filling the southern section with rubble.
