Merric peers carefully in all directions as they exit the room, including up and down, and listens equally carefully. This was not a place to be surprised. Quietly, he remarks to his companions, "I'm hopin' our little stop didn' take us out of Ethereal Plain, 'cause sneakin' about this place, and out'o it, will be harder'n a petrified oak."
As you slice into the creature multiple times again, you notice that, while seriously injured, it stops being injured by your attacks. You know you are hitting telling blows, but it just does not seem to have any affect on the creature any longer.
You feel that the antimagic area is no longer around you. The invisible man declines to go with you, and the rest of you then escape to the etherial plane together. Where are you oging next?
Al-Ashari exhaled with ease - the idea to be helplessly stuck in that place was still frightening her.
"Let's just return to the Infinite Stairs. I mean the place they are supposed to be." She was the first one to go forward and only when they returned dared to look at the object Invisible man left to her.
"Well, since we got the prophecized treasure and some clues to Cecilia's whereabouts, we can save the grand tour for later," Kale says to Merric and Al-Ashari. "Right now I'm bushed, nearly out of spells, and wondering what exactly Lia, Whitegaze and Joetaro are up to. Besides... I'm sure once the Asylum realizes we sprung their pet auran, they're going to be looking for troublemakers. Let's not be present for that," Kale says, beginning to lead the group back towards the courtyard outside of the Asylum.
(I forgot if we visited the red string conspiracy theory room or not. I think we didn't! But, if we want to skip that in favor of reuniting with Lia outside, that's fine with me)
((Ah... if we did see it, I'm curious as to if we were able to make any sense of the red-string conspiracy theories. If we didn't see it, I'm not interested in seeing it now that we've sprung the invisible man, though. :P ))
(OOC: I had you go from the room where the girl had stayed directly to the invisible man room. If you did something else in between, then let me know what. I thought we were going reverse-order, the girl's room, the invisible man's room, then on through the rest. If that was wrong, then we can have you do some of the others between there.)

(( I would say we at least stopped by the string conspiracy room to take a look at what the plotting was all about before freeing the auran. We definitely would not have left the ethereal plane to do that, just looked in and moved on, though. If anyone else wants to weigh in on another room, feel free, this is the one that had my vote though!
In case a roll is needed, Kale would have investigated the string diagrams / room: 25))
You visit the other three rooms prior to going to see the invisible man. There is nothing more to learn on any of them though, unless you leave the border etherial. What I gave you before was what you could learn from looking around in the border etherial.
You would spot several of the mind flayer nurses moving around, all searching for something. Many head towards the area where Kale entered the room to get the girl's things.
As you leave the invisible man's room, already in the border etherial, you again spot nurses moving, now heading towards the room you were just inside of.

The creature attacks Joetaro Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: 16 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 slashing damage. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: 31 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 35 piercing damage. Soul-Stealing Gaze. The creature targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. If the target can see the creature and isn’t a construct or an undead, it must succeed on a DC 16 Charisma saving throw or reduce its hit point maximum by 7 and give the creature an equal number of temporary hit points. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a short or long rest. The target dies if its hit point maximum is reduced to 0, and if the target is a humanoid, it immediately rises as a ghoul under the creature’s control.
Joetaro is going to cast Cure Wounds at third level on Whitegaze.

Joetaro is up. You also notice that Whitegaze's strikes are doing no more damage.

"Time to go," Kale tells the others as he watches the nurses scurrying about, picking up his pace to exit the asylum.
Merric needs no urging, moving quickly to the place where they left the others, stifling a yawn as he does so.
