„I think walking might be our best bet here. It‘s certainly not the safest, fastest, or most comfortable. But for the forgetful,“ and he nods at Al-Ashari again, „sometimes a hard reintroduction as to why we need to go dungeon delving is the most effective.“
Damn it...while did Kale have to be so blasted logical...and right? Merric thought ruefully.
"Aye, Kale, you do be makin' sense...fer once," he said with a grin. "Let's be walkin' back tuh the inn, Whitegaze. I'm not keen on encounterin' the Beast o' the Stairs with the lass not bein' at her full strength, so tuh speak."
Other than the heavy rain, the constant thunder, and shadows flitting around corners, the walk back to the inn is uneventful, at least as far as this city is concerned.
Al-Ashari regains her memory by the time you return to the inn.
Are you going straight into the infinite stairs, then to the dungeon, or are you going to take some sort of rest first?
Al-Ashari would ask for Cicero's restoration potion first, because returned memories allowed her to access her own health, and it did not look good enough to fight, considering what could await them in the dungeon.
"Let's have a short rest first," Kale suggests, preparing a song to sing that will prove inspiring to the others, should they choose to listen. (21 temp HP)
He strums his bandore, and tries to think about what he forgot. It's no good, however... whatever it was, is gone. Someone unsettled, he begins to sing:
"Is there another world for this frail dust To warm with life and be itself again? Something about me daily speaks there must, And why should instinct nourish hopes in vain?
'Tis nature's prophecy that such will be, And everything seems struggling to explain The close-sealed volume of its mystery.
Time wandering onward keeps its usual pace, As seeming anxious of eternity, To meet that calm and find a resting place.
Even the small violet feels a future power And waits each year renewing blooms to bring. And surely woman and man are no inferior flowers To die unworthy of a second spring?"
As you rest you look over the map. You see that there appear to be 2 exits into the old prison. One is 7 flights up from the tavern entrance, the second is 11 flights up.
The closer of the two has a spider symbol on it and is marked with signs of danger.
You also feel fairly confident that, going that far in the stairs, will require a meeting with the creature that prowls there.
"Aye, my friend, I be ready. I shall take the lead in our band, and the creature o' the stairs best be wary," Merric says. "And I'm thinkin' that we'd best be avoidin' the door with the spiders, which be meanin' a longer climb."
"Let's go for the second door. And if we meet a many-headed horror along the way, all the better... two birds with one stone," Kale says. "Or four birds with one stair-monster, if we aren't particularly lucky," he jokes.
As you head upwards you come to the first landing. There is a single door here, according to your map this door leads to the Adamant Asylum
Continuing upwards, the next landing has another single door. Your map has this labeled as Dr. Zakari’s Lab.
At the third landing is another single door. This one leads to The Black Cauldron.
As you reach the third landing though sounds of scrabbling claws can be heard. It takes a moment for you to figure out if it is above you or below you though... 1 1 = above, 2 = below.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Al Ashari‘s memory came back on its own without the potion. She and (hopefully Kale too) were wondering if we could take Cicero‘s once-per-party member greater restoration concotion to go, or if we had to be in the bar to use it (like it was a mixed drink and not a bottled potion).

Al-Ashari agreed - whatever that tavern was, it sounded much better than "dungeon".

(Did Al-Ashari got her Restoration potion?)

Whitegaze will stand up and stretch, "Alright, time for a climb. Everyone ready?" And he'll put away his shield for now to ready the greatsword.
ooc: I don't know but DD posted that she got her memories back as we walked back to the tavern. No restoration potion needed for that, at least.

Sorry, yes.
The barkeep nods and pulls out a mug, filling it with this and that, and hands over a foaming brew.

I think she was just meaning she did not need it for the memory piece. She has it now and can have whatever issues fixed by the greater restoration.
