Waking in the hovel that passes for accommodation, he has a moment of clarity. With all spoils of adventuring waiting for me, why in the gods am I still sleeping here?He ponders this as he heads towards the Goat.
Upon entering he heads to the bar. "Barkeep? How much for a room in your fine establishment?"He's hoping that the events of a few days ago have slipped Lankus' mind. After his quick interchange with the Goats proprietor he takes a seat with the others. Gerrard's quest for a new horse is something that Kei is happy to help with. "Well nobleman, I'd be happy to help with your equine endeavour. I'm more a seafarer than a land lover, but I've ridden a few in my day"His mood hugely improved by the weight in his coin purse. So much so that he hasn't even thought of the arcane scrolls that had piqued his interest the day before.
Peri will, in fact, give Lankus 5sp to have his boy fetch him some new clothes. "Just have him leave 'em outside my door. I'll get 'em in the morning."
He sleeps soundly, though not without some disturbing dreams about ghosts and demons and an army of skeletons. But since he went to bed early he also rises early (for him) and enjoys a full breakfast in his new duds. When he sees the boy he covertly drops 5cp into the boy's hand and gives the lad a conspiratorial wink. "There's more if you can track down where my other pants went without me." His companion's will find him finishing his breakfast.
((Peri doesn't need to do anything before heading to the Sinker, but if someone is going to the Quartermasters of Iuz he will tag along. With some coin in his pocket he'd like to see what potions they have to offer. A couple of healing potions could free our dwarven cleric up a bit. But if no one was going he will wait until after their Sinker mission.))
((Kei fully intends to visit the Quartermaster, either before or after steed selection depending on whereabouts the stables are in relation to Xendros))
Unless there is anything pressing Dwal will be venturing to the market area and do some selling and buying.
Also, Dwal will seek out Missy. His intent is to try and get her to part with the Bag of Holding the party found earlier. Dwal will offer her gold for it, it just depends on what she wants for it.
Gerrard continues his errands. Heading to the Dwarven Anvil next, he finds the smiths quite busy. The old woman, Maffera, and her mute son have already worked up a sweat plowing through the morning's work.
She doesn't have much time to chitchat, but she'll give you 200 gold for the pieces in their current condition. If Gerrard wishes to restore the mail to working condition, that would cost you 200 gold and would take a week's time.
Kei, meanwhile finds a free room available at the Goat. Lankus is much more accommodating than that rat, Kreb Shinker, you've been dealing with at the Empty Net. And the room, albeit coming with a mysterious stain on the floor, is much superior to the sparse bunk he had been sleeping on. It's Qivys' old room; his belongings have been removed.
Gerrard, Kei, and Peri venture next to knock on the door of the "Faithful Quartermasters" as the small sign annoucnes on Xondros' offices. nearly across the street from the Empty Net. A grim-looking human answers and escorts you into a large, hot office, where Xondros is hunched over a desk full of papers. "Yes?" she asks, sourly. She makes intense, unblinking eye-contact. Her jewelry is dark and grotesque.
Xondros buys and sells items of the arcane. She offers to acquire items you might be seeking, although it may take several weeks. She currently has a few items for sale including a single healing potion (75 gp), a potion of fire resistance (300 gp), a magical cittern (a plucked stringed musical instrument for bards; 300 gp); and a magically disguising hat (300 gp), and she hints at additional items she may have access to that are extraordinarily expensive and powerful.
Given that nobody in the party needs plate armor at this point, Gerrard will take the 200 gp for the pieces of armor, then look around to see if anything catches his eye (particularly nice fencing weapons). Thanking Maffera, he takes the coin and moves onto his next errarnd--finally buying that horse. Not being the best judge of horses, Gerrard relies on Kei's input as he evaluates the available steeds. After that, he heads by Kester's Leather Goods to make sure he is fully set for tack and to see if there is any extraordinary light armor available (that he could wear inland when not wearing the mariner's scale).

Also, Dwal will seek out Missy. His intent is to try and get her to part with the Bag of Holding the party found earlier. Dwal will offer her gold for it, it just depends on what she wants for it.
He glances over the Captain's wares. The hat draws his attention. "Now this would've been useful back in the Styes. Uh...not that I needed a disguise or anything"he quickly places the hat back on the table fearing his new friends judgement on past exploits. His gaze falls on the cittern. "Well well, that's a piece of work. Do you know the history?"Without waiting for the response he picks up the cittern and begins turning it over in his hands. "I'll take it."His new found wealth allowing him to buy such an instrument without second thought.
Walking with Gerrard to the stables Kei makes good on his offer of helping the young-again noble. Greeting the stsblemaster he attempts to size up each beast. (Unmodified roll 15 because I don't know which skill is most appropriate). He offers his opinion to Gerrard.
Parting ways with Gerrard after the stables he heads back to The Goat to further admire his newly acquired instrument.
Peri purchases the healing potion and asks whether it would be possible to commission more. He will also mention that they have been fortunate on their adventuring, and will need to spend some of their newfound wealth somewhere, so maybe they would be interested in seeing the top-shelf items.
Gerrard has learned that the City Guard sells and stables horses. (Prices as per PHB.) These are not showy steeds, but rather working-class beasts that range from sturdy and practical, to bony and pathetic. Fortunately Kei has a pretty good horse sense.
Dwal wasn't able to carry any "books" out of the old Dwarven library, but rather a heavy stack of crumbling, worm-eaten pages. They have no monetary value, but might divulge some bits and pieces of history or arcana with study. (As to the two unidentified scrolls, Dwal has determined them to both be arcana he can decipher and work with: web and spider climb.)
The Weekly Market will not be open until tomorrow, but the Green Market is open - mainly foodstuffs, crockery, and livestock. Dwal manages to track down Red during his errands. She is willing to part with her Bag of Holding for 300 gold.
Kei's new cittern - an exquisite piece of work - will require some attunement to fully appreciate. It looks like it will allow him to play the instrument in order to cast a variety of potent spells. Kei is quite happy with it - that seemed like a bargain.
Gerrard stops by Kester's Leather Goods. A wiry, heavily-tattooed woman is working in an outdoor workshop, boiling a batch of hideous purple tentacles in a vat of foul-smelling chemicals. Some leathery greenish plates of clearly monstrous origin are hanging out to dry. She stops her work at Kei's approach to show off her wares - several sets of leather armor, one in a vibrant purple armor ("only 14 gold!") that practically glows with color. She makes small talk as Kei shops. "I'm keenly interested in acquiring hides from exotic creatures - beasts, monstrosities - of a certain dangerous quality. Like this chuul, here, although this one is a bit experimental. A nice owlbear, perhaps, or a giant crocodile. A basilisk, maybe? I made a suit of basilisk hide once; it was perhaps the most beautiful thing I've ever made."
Meanwhile, Xondros, shows her teeth to the halfling in an unsettling mimicry of a smile. There's a long, uncomfortable pause. "Yes. One week, fifty gold up front." she says to Peri in response to his first question about potions, her eyes drilling into him without blinking. But to his second question: "Do you have fifty thousand gold? I think not. I don't keep powerful items on the premises."
Gerrard will purchase the horse recommended by Kei and make sure it is well taken care of and his saddle, tack, and feed he recovered from his previous mount is put to good use (Riding Horse for 75 gp?).
At Kester’s, he looks for high quality studded leather. Not impressed by violent shades of purple, he asks, “Do you have any *special* studded leather armor? Very high quality or magical?”

Peri agrees to the 50gp deposit on the healing potions and tries to negotiate a "bulk discount" for 4 potions of healing. Persuasion9 After that, when he hears Xondros's cost for the "special items," his eyebrows shoot up. "Fifty thousand! No, we're not in that league; not yet, anyhow. But your most expensive wares up front here are just a few hundred. I was hopin' there might be some things in the few thousand range. How much would this be worth to ya?" He sets an electrum ingot on the counter. "Might be we could get some more of these if somethin' catches our fancy."
((We never got a value on the ingots. I'm sure Peri knows electrum is worth half the price of gold, and he could get a rough estimate, at least, of the ingots' weight, so he would likely know more or less what they're worth.))
Xondros pushes the ingot back toward Peri with the tip of her pen, as if it were something foul. "I don't accept rocks. And that's not worth a hundred gold, let alone a thousand." But she's agreeable to acquiring four potion in one week, using your 50 gp as a retainer.
Winston's is probably the place to assess the ingots.
Meanwhile, Gerrard continues to browse Kester's wares. She replies, "No, no magical armor, but..." she disappears for a moment and brings out a set of (studded-equivalent) leather armor covered in shiny, reptilian scales - a little flashy, but beautiful. "One hundred gold."
(Correct - 75 gp for the riding horse. Kei found you a solid, suitable one. It goes by the name, "Erik".)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gerrard:
Seeing the beautiful iridescent scales, Gerrard immediately thinks of Oceanus. Assessing the armor’s worth, he tries to determine what kind of reptilian hide this is and if it warrants the steep price.
Nature: 15
“Could this be the scales from the elusive Water Naga? I have always wanted a suit of Naugahyde armor! Yet the price is a bit steep. Do you have any matching items to sweeten the deal? A pouch perhaps?” He asks, trying to get a slightly better deal but willing to shell out the 100 gp.
Persuasion: 6
Once he purchases the armor, Gerrard will find Oceanus and offer him the finely crafted suit, saying it is “a gesture of friendship between our peoples.” Since they are still dealing with a waterborne task today, he will stay in the Mariner’s scale, but assuming Oceanus returns Gerrard’s normal studded leather, he will put that in his chest with his other possessions in his room.
Dwal will gladly pay Missy for the Bag of Holding. (will subtract the 300 gp and add it to my equipment)
The delicate papers, Dwal will take great care to preserve them the best he can. He will buy ink, a quill and a book if he can or parchment to transcribe the information he finds. Dwal will spend the evening sorting out some of the information. ( he will make the purchases the next day)
Sitting around his apartment, Dwal will make sure Bjorn is comfy, petting the Pseudo-dragon. Dwal will make a small spot for his companion and place 100 gold there for Bjorn's starter hoard. "There ye go me lad" Dwal will tell Bjorn. "any proper dragon needs to have a proper hoard." Dwal smiles at his friend.
Unless the party has any other chores for Dwal he will study then rest. The next day Dwal will rise and when it's open, he will go to the market and make some purchases. He won't be buying anything expensive, just general equipment and the like (added to Dwal's inventory).
Dwal will also meet with the party for a mid-morning meal. Dwal will proudly display let the party know of his purchase of the Bag of Holding.
The only other thing Dwal feels he needs to do is to check in with his employer, if he still has one.
Peri pockets the Healing Potion and leaves the Quartermasters', a bit chagrined that he so overestimated the value of the ingots. He strolls back to the Goat to see if his compatriots are ready to head out to the Sinker. He begs a couple of biscuits from the kitchen and sits on the porch of the inn, smoking his pipe and waiting for his crew. When he sees Dwal holding the Bag of Holding he says, "You found Red! How's she doing? I hope she's moved on from the Guard."
Obsessively examining his instrument, Kei misses the fact that Peri has returned. The growling of his own stomach finally breaks through his single minded focus. He orders a small plate of breakfast and takes it to a table close to the windows. Whilst eating he continues turning the small stringed instrument over and over attempting to fully understand it's workings. From the corner of his eye he sees Dwal approach the porch.
((Has Kei had enough time to attune to the cittern?))
Kester responds to Gerrards questions and bargains. "Behir tail," she replies. "They molt them in the mountains. Very rare to find." She sweetens the deal with a waterskin made from an ettercap's stomach. Foul in concept, quite elegant and practical in reality. But maybe not a detail you'll be quick to share. Oceanus is a little uncertain about this scaly leather armor, but he smiles politely and thanks you for the gesture.
Dwal learned that Red is still with the Guard, and seems relatively content there. He is able to purchase ink, quill, and book at the green market, not that there was much of a selection. (They do have a few household items and inexpensive miscellany for sale.) He also learns from the clerks at the office that Copperlocks is satisfied to continue Dwal's leave of absence, and pay for his room and board, provided he continues to do the bidding of the City Council, especially in those issues related to the protection of the town and mine. Once his services as a hired adventurer for the Council end, though, he will be expected to return to the docks.
(I will resolve his studies, and his next-day purchases later. Likewise, I am going to hold on Kei's attunement to his new instrument.)
The errands have taken the party to mid-afternoon. Do you still want to venture out to the Sinker today? Or leave Dwal and Kei to their solitary studies, and attempt the temple's business tomorrow? (The Council also expects you to depart within the next day or two.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Gerrard will attempt to get the party together after lunch so they can get the errand done today, given that he promised the priest and doesn't want to leave the bodies to rot. Unless there are any reservations, the party will gather in the Goat for a mid-afternoon snack and to plan your salvage of the Sinker. You have two or three hours of daylight left, max.
Brinehald offered to provide a small skiff that will fit two crew and some cargo, as well as a net. Somebody will just have to go back to the temple to make arrangements. But only two can fit in the boat; the others will need to swim in the very cold ocean water, wait on shore, or find other passage.
The Sinker is in fifteen feet of water, perhaps a hundred yards or less off Crabbers Cove, its mast is in easy sight of your cottages.
Brinehald said:
"Had a fancy silvered fishing pole its owner had aboard. Trouble is, the crabs. My people don' want to mess with them, so we need some tough guys like you. But there's two sailors aboard. We need ye to bring 'em back for proper burial. You can keep the pole. Them sailors gotta be pretty ripe right now, or whatever the crabs have left of 'em. But bring back what ye' can of both of 'em."
