The bag of coins, as heavy as it is, causes Kei drama. He has never walked away from loot before, but the pace the party is moving means he has to leave it at the door of the armoury. He joins the others at the next door but his eyes dart back to the bag often. He resists the urge to run back and grab it long enough to see Gerrard open the latest portal.
Dwal shakes his head at the greedy human. "if'n you're all fired up about keepin' tabs on all the coin in bags, why not stash it fer later? The stuff is too heavy fer ye to carry all day and will just weigh ye down if'n there is a big fight." Dwal says.
"Fer the life of me I'll never understand the greed of humans." he mutters under his breath.
With a flash of intense sadness at the death of innocent children, Gerrard’s face hardens and he follows the same process with the glowing blade, stabbing it into each corpse to ensure no undead are present.

Dwal's face reddens and his face is set firm. "You desecrate one more of those children and ye and I will have more than words," Dwal says angrily. "If they rise we will deal with them but, they deserve better after what they have endured so far."
He hears the dwarf's angry growl, and knows the suddenly-aged noble is spoiling for a fight, so he quickly steps between the two. "Hold now, Master Fiercehammer. He's only doin' what needs be done, and you can see he takes no pleasure in it. Your anger is justified, but it should be directed at whatever malign force keeps usin' the fallen. Master Feldren isn't desecrating those bodies; he's sparin' 'em the indignity of undeath. You keep that fire hot, but aim it at the necromancer responsible for this."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gerrard:
With an overly tight grip on the hilt of his glowing blade, Gerrard regards Dwal with reddened eyes, saying, "Grieve not for the dry and dusty bones you see before you. Instead, weep for the life they could have had, stolen from them before they truly had a chance to live it."
Anguish and anger war in equal measure on the noble's face, and his distress seems to be more focused inward than outward, yet it is fearsome to behold nonetheless (Unintentional Intimidate: 8 ).

Dwals comment on his obsession with the bag of coins falls on partially deaf ears. The rich didn't get that way by leaving coins behind. Seeing his outburst towards Gerrard though, lends more weight to his initial comment. Snapping out of his golden fever he walks over to Gerrard. "Grumpy bugger sometimes isn't he?!"He says quietly to the aged noble. "Just quietly, I agree with you. Last thing we need is to be attacked from behind after thinking all is safe. I'll watch yer back if he decides he's going to start something." He gives Gerrard the hand signal for OK.
Subconsciously, his eyes dart back to the bag of coins.
To the group "I can't believe we've been through all these rooms and so far only found dead dwarves and orcs. No sign of who came after and turned the fallen into these undead. Any thoughts Fiercetemper?"The last directed to Dwal.
Dwal looks the rest of the party over. "Ye think I can abid ye desecrating the corpses of fallen children? I am a Dwarven Priest. I have been taught in the ways of the gods from an early age and tell ye that, the body and the spirit are entwined not just in this world but, fer the eternities.' Dwal states. "Ye call it a husk but, it is a vessel and one that they may see again. That ghost that attacked ye is a testament to it. It would not have been here if not fer the fact that its body still lingered here somewhere. It's the same wit these that lay on the floor amongst us now. Their spirits be close by, waiting to be laid to rest properly. Any desecration just prolongs that state for them. They are amongst us, we just don't have eyes to see them right now and they are in agony over such things. It will take a long time to put these to rest and I am bond to do such a thing as a Dwarven Priest. My actions are judged by the Gods because they have seen fit to grant me a portion of their power but, I must act in accordance with their laws, no matter how I may feel, fer me to call on that power they share with wee mortals. If I were to do otherwise I would lose that favor and would be judged more harshly than just mere laymen." Dwal pauses letting his words sink in with the party. "The Gods watch us always and judge us of our actions." he continues. "Fer priests it's doubly so. If I were to let ye continue I would lose that touch with the Gods and the right to call on them when it be needed. So, I say to ye again, if'n ye continue to do this thing I can not abide to let it happen." Dwal says firmly.
Peri glances nervously back and forth between the human and the dwarf. "All right, I understand your objection. But we can't go forward with a bunch of potential attackers behind us. Unless you have another way of makin' sure these 'vessels' don't rise up and cut off our exit, we'll have to turn around and head back to town. Which, frankly, wouldn't be such a bad idea anyway. What exactly are we lookin' for down here?"
Looking at Dwal and listening as if from a far away place, Gerrard slowly sheathes his weapons and thinks for a moment on what the priest has said. When he responds, it is quietly and with resignation, "I don't know much about Dwarven religion, so I'll have to take your word on it. If you have some way of assuring these bodies do not rise to fight us that doesn't involve prodding them with a weapon, do it. Otherwise, when they rise to attack us by the dozens, I will blame you for your lack of foresight."

Dwal just shoulders his hammer and walks to the next door.
"If it be a necromancer then stabbing the dead won't help.," Dwal says as he goes " That type of wizard would just animate the dead as needed and we'd be facing zombies, just with a new hole in them. If they were undead when we entered they'd have already risen and attacked. You're puttin' a lot of effort cause of fear. I say we find the source an' we can end this." with that Dwal will go to the door on the far wall, near the top corner, and listens a moment before opening.
Dwal's answer makes some sense, but the idea of leaving a bunch of potential enemies along their escape route doesn't set well with Peri. He goes back along the corridor, pulling the doors shut. It kept 'em in there before we came along, he thinks, so hopefully it'll keep 'em in there when we leave. Then he begins dragging bodies from the large open room into the armory. "You can rest in here and I'll feel a little safer," he tells the bodies as he stacks them in the room.
Peri tugs at the first corpse, but it falls into two pieces. The bodies are rather fragile and do not move well. (Maybe with a cloth tarp? Or a wheelbarrow?)
Dal goes to Peri and lays his hand on the halfling's shoulder. "Let 'em rest lad, they ain't coming back fer us, an' if they did they'd fall apart." Dwal says reassuringly. "There is something shiny in the next room, might be worth checkin' out." he says knowing how the halfling likes shiny things and treasure.
The dwarven priests speech hits home. Yes, Mask was the God of thieves and trickery, but a god all the same. Kei knew the touch of a divine entity. The power was something beyond mortals. The thought that that power could be taken away was something he had never thought of. Kei had lied, cheated and stolen all under the eye of his god. But all of that was encouraged by followers of Mask. Desecration of the dead though.....
In a rare moment if humility Kei walks to Peri's side. "Master Peri, you gave me the opportunity to carry our loot, but I fear it is too heavy to drag around this place. I return the bag to you to do with as you see fit."He drags the bag to the halflings feet, bows a little and walks away. This time his eyes do not shoot back to the bag. His mind thinkinking over Dwals words.
