Aisha leads you away from the Warlord Statues in the opposite direction of the camp of bugbears that you spoke with earlier in the day. After a short walk, before leaving the forest, she has located a small clearing suitable for setting camp. It is eerily quiet, with a distinct lack of animal life to create ambient noise. Only an occasional gust of wind rustling the surrounding leaves fills the void.
OOC: It sounds like a rest is the plan! We just need to sort out the details (short or long rest, who is keeping watch, any other activities happening if it is a short rest, etc.)
"I'd like to refresh my spells and metal capacities, friends," Abraxas says once they have located a safe place to rest. "This will require a long rest for me, including some sleep. I am, however, happy to take the first watch."
Aisha fully agree's with needing a long rest. Since otherwise there's no point to it. Aisha has Tsavi assist on the second watch, since that's about when she feels the ogres might be discovered, and tells her to assist whomever was there spot things. Putting the 7 arrows she could find back into her quiver. Aisha will take the last watch.
The night is equally quiet and undisturbed, and after the last watch has passed, Aisha wakes you all to a cold but dry morning. A putrid scent lingers in the air, slowly growing stronger as you break camp.
OOC: Each character has gained the benefits of a long rest.
Aisha grumbles as she says, noticing Abraxus actions Atleast you haven't had to smell it while awake for the last several hours. And I'm sure my nose, as well as Garu's is a bit more sensative. It seemed like Aisha had gotten over her 'issue' with Garu from before, though whether that would apply to others of Garu's race has yet to be seen. Nyow that you are awake, Aisha can go scout it out. You're welcome to come if you wish. But I shall make sure it is safe or atleast try to find out what is causing it.
With that, Aisha starts moving towards where she believes the smell to be coming from, especially since it's likely coming from the ogre statue spot.
Not sure if you want perception or survival, or any check at all so I'll let you roll for me if one is needed. Also sorry for silence last few days. Just got a new job standing for 8.5 hours a day, no doctor scholls, and the job is VERY hard on the hands, so my bodies been in agony the last couple days.
Harmony had gotten up, not liking that smell at all. It must be from the ogres that they had killed, hearing Aisha and Abraxas. "If it's burning, would that mean one of the other tribes had found the bodies?" she said back, worried and hoping that no one knows that they were responsible for that.
Aisha departs the camp, moving toward the position of the Warlord Statues.
For Aisha:
It doesn't take long to return to the clearing where the statues stand. As you approach, you quickly see the source of the scent: The ogres have been piled up into a massive cairn of corpses and set aflame. They are mostly burned at this point, smoldering and filling the air with the putrid small.
Surrounding the statues are more than a dozen bugbears, outfitted differently than those that you dueled the day before. These bugbears are wearing finely crafted armor made of overlapping metallic scales, and wield shortbows alongside their greataxes. One roughly nudges another, pointing in your direction.
Aisha will scan the Bugbears, looking for similar signs of 'insanity' from the bugbears themselves, likely seeing the 'nudge and point' though regardless of whether she notices it or not, she doesn't attempt to run. She stands her ground (barring them seeming to be insane like the Ogres, in which case, she'd lead them on a 'merry chase' back to the party ((AND OTHER ACTIONS before actually reaching the party if this is the case))
But if they don't immediately attack she will wait for one of them to speak or approach. If neither happens, she will instead speak to them, saying:
The ogre's had gone crrazy the other day. Killing one another.
Gradually, the other bugbears become aware of Aisha's presence, but none draw a weapon or make a move against her as she speaks. One bugbear steps forward. Taller than the rest, its greataxe is well polished, shining in Rikirta's sunlight. "Must have been crrazy, yes. Many wounds from arrow. Never seen ogre use bow and arrow before," he says in decent Common, mimicking Aisha's accent with the first sentence. Some of the bugbears chuckle along with him, but others remain stoic and at attention.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aisha doesn't seem shaken, she may not be the smartest but she is still rather wise, comparative to most. She can see why he'd make such a comment, and she was very aware of her own weaponry. She steps forward, knowing that she and the others did nothing wrong. The ogre's attacked with their javerleens and such first. They acted in self defense, and though at the end there may have been consideration of deception, it ultimately never came to fruition.
Yes, this one was forced to shoot some of them to save herself. A frrriend that was with me revealed that the statues here atleast, though we are unsure of the other ones, give visions that make you feel 'powerful' if you 'just do' cerrrtain things. We had approached them in hopes of asking the ogre's about them she says, so far only revealing the existence of a single other person, trying to keep as much potential advantage in case the worst happened. But when we approached, they attacked without so much as a word. They attacked eachother and us alike, trying to gain this power my frriend had seen visions of. Somehting involving some powerful wolf, who promises power to rival his own for the blood of others. We tried to spare the last one, and had started to make some headway but then he too attacked.
No modifiers since I'm not sure how much deception you'd consider this since she's not fully telling the truth but she is telling mostly truth: 11
The larger bugbear waves away Aisha's explanation. "Bah. Stop talking. You talk too much to one who does not care. The Warlords say Skunk Tongue ogres not worthy. You are not worthy. Soon the Warlords will say Blood Tusk not worthy. This is how it is. Iron Claw is strong where Blood Tusk is not," he grumbles.
Aisha asks Are any of the warlords a wolf at all? once this one knows this, she will leave you be.
and one way or another after being chased or answered, she'd report her findings back to the others, including how she feels that 'somehow' she see's a recurring pattern likely to happen that they may be forced to kill everyone but that may simply make the prophecy come true, etc. And that She's not entirely sure how to deal with it.
The large bugbear stares silently for a moment before saying, "...What?"
He gestures above him toward the statues. "The Warlords are bugbears. Leaders of a time when we were one clan. Blood Tusk and others still act as then, primitive and weak. The Warlords do not speak to them," he says, as if it were obvious.
A small idea sparked in Aisha's mind. She was tired between all of her other normal concerns but also that this particular puzzle seemed so hard to overcome with the most immediate logic but.. perhaps.. just maybe.... Yes... This much Aisha has hearrrd from the .... she paused, quite legitimately forgetting the name and even the race of the ones they had spoken to, but not wanting to pause too long, she points in the direction that they had come from. The ones over therre. But they would nyot listen to what we had to say because Aisha forced their grreatest fighter into a loss. Atleast in this one's opinion. But that isn't important. Myself and my frriend she said, adding an 's' to the end of it but below her breath came here because of a power .. similar to your warlords aisha would assume, though purrhaps not as rrespectable told us of a power here, in the forrm of a wolf. A massive wolf. Like a giant sized wolf if not larger, who promises of power but who's true aim is to dishonour everyone in battle by splitting the world in half.
Thus not even allowing you a good fight. But he whispers prromises of power, and that apparently drives you mad, making you a slave. Fighting eachother, or whatever comes your way. It trried to do the same to my friend. But Aisha, after thinking on it... believes its goal is to trrick those of you whom guard this purrtilcular set of statues, to make you bleed out like the ones on fire there did in order to...bring itself into the world.
Either way, AIsha is sorry for going on .. she will leave nyow.. but felt she needed to tell you while you still retained yourr sanity. So that you could atleast decide how you wanted to handle it. Though she didn't immediately leave, allowing him a chance to respond, but should one not be forthcoming, or him not 'allowing' her to leave, she would react based on that.
Abraxas has been watching, curious about what news Aisha will bring. He has been recording all the events of the last few days in his journal. "We will have to see what Aisha has to tell us," he says to Harmony and Garu, "I think--and sort of dread--that the next step might be triggering the process. We may need to wake the wolf to defeat it."

Harmony agrees that a long rest would really be helpful, nodding. She would help with the first watch with Abraxas.

Abraxas will inhale deeply, trying to identify the putrid scent. He thinks it may be dead ogre, but would want to be sure.

It's not a scent that you have come across often, but it sort of smells like burning flesh, but multiplied to a worse factor.
