"I hope that bridge is strong enough to hold us with water gushing like that..." Skip would say looking nervously towards the rushing water.
"Don't worry about a single figure Skip... If they are following us then they have reason for it and we'll find out eventually. If it is just co-incidence then there's nothing to be concerned about. As long as we are sensible, keep a watch when we camp, and don't do anything too stupid, we'll be as prepared as we can be. There are plenty of folk back there that I doubt it's worth investigating just yet." Landrae takes a look around as the others fuss, but ultimately see nothing to worry herself over. Seeing the clouds on the move towards them, she figures it will be a wet night.
Pulling up to the bridge, Landrae shouts out to the rest of the group, "Looks like the well trodden path becomes less well trodden from here on out. If Skip was right earlier, then we should be keeping eyes out for folks on the trail behind us... Now with that storm coming I reckon we have a couple of options. Either we push on and see if we can find somewhere further down this trail to hole up and make as much out of today's travel as we can; or we cover our backs and move a little ways onward from this bridge, then a couple of us double back and keep a watch on who crosses the bridge as I'd bank that river is flowing too fast for there to be any nearby fords. If no-one does before nightfall, we can press on at first light, but if anyone does cross the bridge, we at least get to see who is at our backs."

Brace speaks to Landrae "Your idea is a good one. I have a special blessing I can give that improves stealth abilities. It only lasts 1 hour but that should be plenty of time (blessing of the trickster, gives advantage on stealth roles and is not a spell but rather a cleric domain ability.) I can use this on Skip and let him watch the back path over the bridge for a time after we pass to see who is coming this way." He touches Skip giving him the power and tells him "If you see the same figure that you identified before try to understand who is with him or anything else you can about him and then return and let us know."
"Oh.. OK Mr. Brace... You can count on me!" He would say before jumping off of his horse and handing the reigns over to him. The boy would then run off into the grass... crouching down low and looking to find trees or large rocks to hide behind.
Skip creeps in the tall grasses. The gentle rolling hills around him are covered in hip height grass, taller than Livly and Ulfgar! He's unseen moving along the grass until finding the edge of the stone bridge. From his spot he waits. Five minutes, ten minutes, twenty minutes pass with the two caravans making their way across the bridge he now sees folks on foot and horseback. He then notices the cart of teens who are keeping a vigilant watch of their own goods and the human man who must have taken them up in their offer but he does not see the hooded figure pass by during this period of twenty minutes.
Roll stealth and perception again to linger.
OOC: what's the party up too? Just suspiciously standing on the side of the road staring at ppl?

(OoC: Party will be about 20 minutes up the road by my judgement... I would have said Landrae waits with Skip watching the bridge, but we're past that point. I'm good with Landrae & another waiting wherever the party are now and others moving forwards to find a campsite... We could stagger 20 mins sets, so Skip heads back catches up with Landrae, then they move on and catch up with whomever. Etc...)

When a hooded figure drops their hood to reveal an older human waving back at Ulfgar, he realizes quickly that probably wasnt who Skip noticed. He feigns a small smile with an imaginary hat tip and without hesitation starts up his erratic tune once again. Being encouraged by Landrae's playing, he decides to be a little louder with it.

While the plan had some flaws Keth trusted his group and knew they had to do what made them feel safe. He chose to go ahead to find a camp, happy to have anyone who chose to come along. His ideal campsite, as he scanned the areas just off the main road, would be for an area of overhanging rocks. Of course that would probably be more at the mountains,so he would easily settle for overhanging trees to at least cut some of the possible storm coming.
Brace brushes down Phalaris after removing his gear. He then approaches Livly and Keth to help make camp and speaks to Livly "I meant no disrespect on my 'talks to much' comment from before. I was more worried about speaking in such a way as to alert those following us and didn't mean that I don't appreciate a good conversation and you make very good conversation." He tries hard to smile but it comes off more awkward than anything else. He continues to help.
Skip now virtually invisible at the base of the bridge lingers another twenty minutes but still sees no hooded figure in the next wave of travelers that pass. As the young rogue waits again he does notice another caravan. This one is weighted heavily with fine goods and has armed guards, six exactly, positioned around on mix of horseback as well as on foot. If he were a bandit this is the caravan he'd rob!

At camp (which no one waited for a survival or investigation roll) they find the field of gently rolling hills is just that, no cover and not a tree to be seen yet in the distance near the mountain's base still miles away, another two hours on horseback, there are some nestled there. It's late afternoon but the looming storm makes the skies darker than usual. The rain begins fall making those on the road speed up while others break from their journey trying to set up shelter from the elements.
Someone in camp roll me some survival checks (individual rolls) for the following: fire and tents. I then need an animal handling for securing horses.
Skip easily spots camp just a few feet from the main road and heads there with little news.
OOC: How do we figure watch? Shifts? Who's with whom?

"It's ok, Brace , bureocracy - especially corrupt once - can get on peoples nerves. Just forget about it." Livly happily smiled and returned to the fire building - as long as there was some wood, Prestidigitation could take care about ignition //Cantrip, so, no wild surges//. And now, when they were alone on the road from the priests prying eyes, she could enjoy at least some usage of her magic. "Ah, still got it! What a pretty fire. Well, time for cooking."
She did try to help with tents too, but probably was less helpful than she hoped: Survival 15
Landrae greets Skip as he catches up with the group. "Barely saw you back there Skip, remind me not to play hide and seek with you." She winks at him before moving off and letting Skip answer Brace's query.
Landrae attempts to set the tent up that she and Livly will share, guessing that Livly and Keth will have been pre-occupied with getting a fire going. Shouting over to the pair, "Make sure that fire is well banked, a hot meal is nice but I'd rather not set a beacon for any bandits that might make it my last meal! I'm expecting some yummy trail fodder from the two of you. Livly, don't complain if the tent falls down in the night."
"I don't mind taking the first watch, staying up late has never been a problem for me!"
Skip would return to the group... looking sheepish and kind of kicking a few rocks as he makes his way into the camp. "I uhh.... didn't see the people that were following us." He would say, looking up to Brace and then to Landrae. "I saw the group of jerks from town escorting a guy go past.. and then later I saw a really expensive looking caravan full of fine goods go past... but not the same person I saw following us before." He would say sadly. "I... I think I am just ready to eat" The boy would would then find a place to sit for a bit... occasionally offering to [action]help[/ation] out around the camp if anyone needs any assistance.
"I'll take first watch along with Landrae."Ulfgar proclaims "I'm not so good with the building of fires or tents but I can knock a bandit on his back pretty good."
