Skip would perk up as soon as he realized he wasn't in trouble for wasting everyones time looking for the hooded figure. "Oh! Well they want off that direction.." He would add pointing off in the direction they were traveling. "They were spaced far enough apart with the teenage jerks traveling pretty far ahead of the merchant caravan." He would say with a shrug. After a few moments of looking towards the fire, he would look back to Landrae and then everyone else. "So what exactly were we hired to do?" He would ask.
Brace is listening and finds great interest in the merchant caravan. "If the robbers are active at all it is a good bet they have seen the merchant caravan. I say we scout it out in the morning and stay close. I say they will more likely attack that caravan than our rag tag group." Looking back at Skip he asks "So you say it is obvious that they have a lot of merchandise? Because if anything will attract the robbers it will be a group with a lot of merchandise. Interesting ..."
"Oh sorry Skip, I wasn't paying attention to your last question. We were hired to retrieve some stolen merchandise from the band of robbers that infest this part of the land. That is why I am interested in what might attract their attention."

The camp site is a bit chaotic as people move this way or that. People checking on the mounts, doing something with tents, a whole slew of things. With Livly ready to light the fire Keth knew they first needed to gather something to light to begin with. He attempts to comb the nearby area for anything to use in the fire.
Survival: 4
Hmm, rocks. Do rocks burn? I am pretty sure I heard that somewhere.
"The caravan was LOADED with LOTS of expensive goods.... It would definitely be a prime target for bandits." Skip would say quickly. "I knew that we were hired for mercenary work but yeah.. I guess I didn't realize exactly who were were hired to fight. If I was going to attack a caravan... that is who I would hit." The young man would say excitedly.
Together tents are built sturdy to face storm winds. The fuel for a fire is found in some broken crates and barrels collected from the road side and the horses are secured. The wind kicks up and rain continues to drizzle popping and hissing in Livly's well crafted fire. Travelers on the road clearly see the fire light as well as tent tops as they pass but so far your party remains free of unwanted attention from other travelers.

Skip would happily eat whatever food is being prepared... while offering to help with any activities his new companions are trying to accomplish. If no one needs anything, he would walk around the camp site and collect a few nice sized rocks before pulling out his leather working kit and work to create a Sling. Skip would spend his time working to expertly stitch together some of his leather straps from his kit and burning designs into the straps..

"DAMN IT! it is too dark out here..." Skip would shout.. getting frustrated... grabbing his messy brown hair.
(OOC: So not sure what to roll for things like making arrows and slings and stuff with my woodcarving tools and leatherworking tools.)
(Going to do some small conversation as Keth cooks if that is ok.)
Keth sets his cooking utensils near the fire and begins to prepare dinner. He works on the stew he had mentioned earlier and is eager for it to turn out good to impress his fellows
"So, now that we are officially on our way, why don't we talk a bit about ourselves from before. We talked a lot on the boats about our pasts but not necessarily how we can fit together. As you all know Ulfgar and I have worked together before, a pretty good combination of offense and defense. What with my greatsword and his shield, we were just light on support. What about you all?"
(ooc not sure if I succeeded or not but either way)
Skip will collect his sling.. or something that looks like a sling and pack up his tools while looking to Keth. "Well uhh... I am quick... and am pretty good at sneaking around and unlocking chests and doors and things." The shaggy haired kid would say as he turns and leans back against his pack. "I am pretty good at making bows and arrows but dont really use them much.. other than target practice sometimes behind the shop to test them out that is.." He would add as he pulls an arrow from his pack and examines it closely. "I guess if you are asking what help I would be in a fight... I suppose I would make a pretty good scout.. find and disable traps and locks.. and maybe lut a few of these things to good use." He would say as he points to Keth with the arrow before sliding it into his quiver.
"Planning and strategizing already?" Laughed Livly. "Well, I can shoot - not the best out there, but still can. And ... my magic is not only for the shows. Though... Ok, the simple one - that works fine all the time, the best, though... Sometimes it misfires. Not the most useful trait, I know. Most of the times mishaps are harmless, but sometimes it stings. Usually me, though, not others. So, I do not know how it fits your plans, but I promis do my best not to ruin them."
"I never was great at the bow. I should probably practice more. I tend to lean on my divine given magic so this intolerance is cramping my style as we all saw at the city border. I wasn't trying to do anything crazy but the reaction! ... Wow" Brace enjoys the fire and the company and seems more in the mood to talk then usual.
"So It looks like we need to find that merchandise caravan again if possible. If ever there was a target for the bandits it would be that. We should be up early and scout things out."
He finishes the final preparations for the night and starts his 4 hour Trance while Landrae and whoever else is ready keeps watch. He will take his turn when he is done.
"I'd have thought it obvious that any face this beautifal is made for loving, not fighting..." Landrae primps herself and assumes an aloof pose, before bursting out in a rich laugh and looking all the more attractive for the genuine sparkle of fun in her eyes. "I'm not half bad at a bit of sneaking myself, but I prefer to sit a little ways back from the hack n slash that Keth and Ulfgar like to get involved with. I mean, I have had to explain my 'point' to people before and they were usually less argumentative afterwards... Generally though I'd rather pick my foes off from a distance, firmly planting something like Skip's shaft in them, or applying my own little bit of magic to their detriment."
"I agree with Brace though, shadowing that merchant caravan that Skip saw seems like a solid plan. We just need to be cautious though that we don't get mistaken for the bandits!"
Skip would listen intently and then slowly daydream a little bit as Landrae speaks... He would smile and nod along before quickly shaking his head and turning bright red "yeah.. wait... What about firmly planting my shaft?" before looking to his hand and realizing he was still holding the arrow.. "OOHH, Oh... yeah.. that. YUP!... Arrows... we are talking about arrows here.. .all of us." He would say before looking towards the fire.
Ulfgar sits around the fire that they had started. "Nothing like banging someone over the head with the full force of Sune." Ulfgar interjects. "I was never one for sneaking around.. I think my friends used to call me a bucking stallion. No control and a whole lot of fuss."He warms his hands in front of the fire. "But I always got the job done."

Keth looks to Skip with an expression that is a cross between shock and amusement. "Keep it in your quiver that big man," he says jokingly at the youth. He looks to the others and gestures to Skip with his thumb as if to say, 'Get a load of this guy.'
"I appreciate you all taking the time to comment, while I didn't necessarily mean to sound so utilitarian it was all still insightful," he says as he is getting close to being done with the stew. "Just watch each other's backs out here. See where you think you can pick up where someone else lets off."

The merchant caravan is about a hundred and fifty yards from your camp. Someone is playing music and laugh can be heard. So far the night falls with little foreboding.
"I'll be glad for the company my sweet smelling dwarven friend!"
"That's interesting Skip... which way did those two caravan's go?"
