I use whatever I can find in the boat to bind the Kobold's together and pocket my manacles for later use. I use this time to introduce myself to my squad.
"I am Falcorn. I see you are newer recruits. I have been a defender of the alliance for a number of months now, so I can show you the ropes. I see that you are a wizard (looking at Archibald). very rare for a wizard among your kind isn't it? Although I guess I am not one to talk. I was working as a glassblower before I made my pact with the Lady of the Fey. I do not quite know what she sees in me, but clearly I must follow this path. Maybe one day I will return to my art."
If Archibald wants to respond, I am game, but otherwise ready to head off.
I rolled low on HP, took Agonizing blast and Armor of Shadows as my first two invocations and sleep from the Archfey expanded spell list.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Archibald, or Archie. I am well aware of my ...unusual background. But rest assured, I'm every bit as capable as any other mage. And not as squishy. I've only just finished my training, but I'm determined to show my skill."
I chose the school of illusion, gaining the minor illusion cantrip. I also chose Fog Cloud and Comprehend Languages. If I have time, I'd like to ritual cast Find Familiar with the supplies I bought before shipping off, having it the form of a raven. Once we get back to the tunnels, I'd like the raven to scout ahead, and I will look through his eyes.
(OOC we have not described our characters yet, so I figured I would do so.)
A nearly average height Halfling, his skin is tan, and eyes are blue. His hair is dirty blond cut into a long mohawk that is braded back into one pony tail, it has blood in it, most of it is old and stained in. He has no tatoos and wears no shirt, any pants. He always has a cigar in his mouth. He has a hand ax and a light hammer on his belt. Also on his belt but behind his back is a Boomerang. His left arm is covered in scares. He is extrealy muscular.
Archibald is tall, even for a goliath, standing at 7'10". He is generally dressed in very fine clothes, afforded by his parents. He's lucky they're rich, because otherwise he'd have trouble obtaining clothes in his size. His spell casting focus is an amulet that was with him at the time of his adoption. His parents let him keep it since it made him seem more "exotic" to have a token of his original heritage. It is a round amulet with an inscribed lightning bolt striking the top of the mountain. What it means, he isn't sure.
(Sorry, busy weekend, as was yesterday) Heading back to the caves, you reenter the one you left. The pile of refuse you found, as well as the unfortunate kobolds remain in the corridor of the cave. You advance again, and approach the junction from before.
vote on which way to go, and everyone roll a dex save, a perception check, and a survival check.
I start down the left path about 15 feet after the raven, then stop and look back to see what my teammates are doing. (if the lighting allows, they would see that my body language is not one of trail blazing, but uncertainty regarding whether this is the correct choice or not).
The raven flies about 30 feet down the left corridor, then returns. It taps Archibald's shoulder, then squawks and repeats. There is a trap detected down the corridor. As the three of you head down, sure enough, as the corridor turns to the right, there's a very crude tripwire trap. Archibald is first to notice where the tripwire concludes to: a net filled with rocks holds fast to the tripwire below. The three of you manage to hop over the wire, although Jhar does have difficulty getting his short legs over the rope, and clips it perfectly and alarmingly to make it "twang!" Everyone holds their breath for a second in silent horror, but the netting holds true, and the rocks don't fall.
Typical of the kobold's mindset, there is another junction: one leading directly forward, one turning to the right, and a tunnel in the middle of the junction leading down. Vote which way to go, and roll Perspective and Dex Save again.

I set the kobolds down as Falcorn ties them up.

So we head out to the tunnels.

After he goes down a bit, I pull him back and find out what he saw.
Falcorn stays peering down the cave, finger gun at the ready.
Heading down the left path, the raven swoops through unabated. Nothing seems to happen to the raven, and it flies back. Raven's perception:+314

My vote is for the middle down passage. I'd like my raven to go down and back and report.
Perception: 9
Dex Save: 14
