Del finds a couple of gnolls with their feet sticking out of the shield, and manages to drag them through.  The hyenas are soon shredding their former allies with gusto.  Through full mouths, they say, "You kill pack leader, now you pack leader."

You head inside.  This looks like it was once a great manor for gnomes, but is dilapidated, and walls have been knocked out to make one large room out of what clearly used to be an entire complex. The place looks about ready to fall in on you. On each side of the room, you see four gnome-sized metal bed frames lined up to make a large bed., heaped with stinking uncured furs and matted with gnoll hair. The floor is still mostly covered with dust and rubble.  There are a couple of backpacks here and a locked chest.  Some stairs lead up.

Mindartis goes to test the stairs to see if they'll hold his weight. If they do he starts climbing up.

Make a dex save, DC15

Del will check out the backpacks Perception 22, and Help R unlock the chest if she wants, then be ready to follow M upstairs if they hold (not on the stairs at the same time)

Mindartis walks up the stairs when suddenly a glyph flashes under his feet. There is a burst of dark energy, you are knocked back to the bottom of the stairs and you take 21 necrotic damage.  The glyph glows ghastly orange for a moment, covering three steps, then fades to invisibility.

The backpacks contain mainly what you would find in a dungeoneer's pack. One of them also contains three hyena skulls with words in an unknown language scratched into their foreheads. The other has a few humanoid scalps dangling from it as trophies, set of woodcarving tools, and a bone dagger that looks crude and hand-made...probably with the carving tools.

Mindartis, you take 25 necrotic damage from the trap. You can tell that the trap is still there, but you don't sense any more of them. (Dispelling it will work.)

Raven notices a crude poison needle trap, but easily disarms it and gets the chest open.  Inside you find mixed coins worth about 200 gold, a mithral chain shirt, two rings, and a cloak.

"Just the one Del," Mindartis says, pointing it out. Waiting for him to dispel it, Mindartis will attempt to climb the stair again.

Once the trap is dispelled, Mindartis is able to continue upstairs.

The upper floor is not quite as hollowed out as the lower.  Holes have been knocked in walls and gnome-sized doors enlarged (seemingly with a sledgehammer) but large portions of the walls remain. Somehow it looks more wrecked than the downstairs. At the head of the stairs is the main sitting room.  There are three full-sized, overstuffed, comfy-looking chairs around a large fireplace.  On the mantel are a few cauldrons in various sizes, a rust-covered iron statue of an illithid, a crystal ball mounted on a base, some object covered in black velvet, a couple of books, and a curled-up loop of woven wicker. Beside one of the chairs sits a square basket with a lid on it. Three holes in the wall seem to lead to other rooms.

Del does in fact want to dispel and does. And follows M up the stairs. Is his Lingering Magic still lingering?

Looking around the room Del will check for traps on the basket and see what "object" on the mantel is  Thief Tools 10

Del finds no traps on the basket.  Lifting the black velvet cover, Del reveals a glass jar filled with liquid.  En eyeball floats suspended in the center of it.  The eyeball swivels around to stare at each of you...

Del covers it up as soon as he sees the eyeball

Basket not having traps Del checks inside

Knitting needles and balls of yarn.  Nasty, lumpy yarn with lumps and thorns in it, in various shades of yuck.

Well, save the knitting basket anyway, never can tell. Waiting for others to catch up, and if M is still detecting magic, before picking stuff up and checking out the 3 rooms.

"Want me to smash it?" Mindartis asks, picking up the loop of wicker. Lingering magic still going if it hasnt been 10 minutes

After removing the content from the trunk, Raven would head up to see what the others had found.  (Hopefully after the eyeball thing was recovered up...)

"Found some armor, a cloak, and  a few rings." She tells the others as she joins them.  "Plus some coin, we can split it up later."  Glancing around the room.  "Should we take all of this back so our wizard can identify it, or should we bring him here?"b
