During the battle, Flitterbug had stayed in hiding in the surrounding forest, but hearing Mindartis call, she flutters back to his shoulder. "I knew you could save the tree!  You're my hero," she says, giving him a kiss on the ear.

Del will add his own insignificant Druidcraft with Ziia, just to add moral support, and turn over care of the tree to Billy. He will introduce himself and ask What is your name Great One? Can you tell if any of your hurts are from below ground? These fiends have been known to attack the roots. Or from a cursed arrow? We ourselves are hunted by a grey elf with arrows that prevent healing? He will let Billy know, and help him ask questions, since Ziia can Speak with Plants at will.

In between &or after, Del will also include asking the cats and birds that were observed Are you friends of Zanderfell? Our friend introducing Q Is something of a protégé. Do you have news to share? Have you seen the gray elf?

The Owls will continue to patrol for now; when there is a break in the action Del will ride one back to the base camp or whatever and return on Laughtrack, and let her have at the gnoll bodies. I assume the other Sir E has Bongo and was in the main battle? And is the main battle over by the way? I hope we won.

 The tree does not respond further.

When you ask the birds and cats about Zanderfell, they call, "Inside, inside," and disappear into small hollows in the tree. One of the cats scrambles down a low branch and leaps to your shoulder. "Grey elf is over there, watching," she whispers, gesturing with her tail. "With night hags."

Yes, the battle seems to be pretty much over!  Knights, soldiers, commandos and sprites patrol, looking for any sign of  further resistance, but it seems that the day has been won...for now. Sir Ethan, as you say, was with the main battle, and Bongo and Laughtrack are out there making a feast of fallen gnolls.

Raven moves in to where her companions are gathering.  "I know the assassin is out there, I just cannot find them..." She tells the others glancing around with a frown. If she hears that the gray elf is with the night hags, and where that is, she would move in that direction.

Still a bit winded, Elwin tried to assess the situation. Yes, they'd won, but just barely in time, in seemed. And the cost? Well.... he'd let the other knights count that. It wasn't he who had driven them to battle, after all.

Jumping down, the cat perches on the dead night hag and watches Raven with amusement. She turns back and meows toward Del some more, before starting to wash herself.  ( "Blind, furless one walks right through Grey Elf. Grey elf watch from ghostielands, you not can see? He went there when water crash happen. Maybe not want to get wet.")

Del asks the cat Are the other two night hags also in ghostielands right there? No, we cannot see ghostieland - we saw the other two night hags get ghostie when we killed that one, but do not know where they went. Before that, all three went somewhere, disappeared to us and came back. Did you see when that happened? Was it ghostieland or fairyland or shadowland?

Is Zanderfell inside the tree? Is that why the others went inside?

Del makes sure to keep others updated where the ethereal enemies are. I wonder what would happen if we passed one of these wicker hoops over their ethereal locations?

"Yes, all together watching. Angry. Don't know where they went before. Yes, Zander inside."

Quentin has a wide smile on his face as he says, “If this is Zanderfell’s tree.....I need to get inside now!” 

Mindartis goes about watching over the binding and seperation of the green hags who were still here, smiling at Flitterbug's comment.

Oi! Fam! Del calls out Two hags and Greyelf are right there - ethereal - watching us - and they must know that we know. What is more important than that right now?

I think Del has the hoop from under Yonpinegel - he will pull it out and ask the cat to let us know if anything changes

The cat watches. "They look like they are curious what will happen, too," she meows.

Raven shakes her head.  "He is beyond my reach then." She says.  "Good to know he has the ability to go to the etherial plane though, that will be something we will have to take into account as we move forward." She glances to their wizard.  "Any idea how I could follow him there?"

Any objection to seeing what happens if I sweep this hoop through them? Might be funny at least

“I doubt they’d let you and I don’t have any magic that can currently do that but it can very easily and quickly get some.”

What can be got quickly, Brother my Lord king of fools?

"I am hoping magic that can let me follow the assassin when he goes there..." raven says.

He does not want to preempt Q's idea - but if nothing else is proposed Del will try passing the hoop over Greyelf explaining Maybe they run away to avoid it, maybe they materialize to try and stop me, maybe it will just peve them off, and maybe it will work and send them somewhere. Some of those options we get to kill them

By now Elwin had dismounted his steed, and had transformed his lance into his trademark spear, carrying it as if ready to strike, as he glanced around futilely.

"So not only can we not see them, we can't hit them even if we could," he growled as he observed Del attempt to use the wicker hoop. Raising his shield slightly, the warlock watched and waited to see what would happen.

(Shall we gamble a little?  1-5: nothing happens. 6-9: The targets get sent to one of the loop's destinations 10: They are pulled out of the Ethereal and back to the material plane.) 6

Del swings the loop, and the cat meows, "Went right through. Still there.  Elf tries loop on you, now.  Elf and hags step into loop. Gone now."

Del felt nothing when the cat said Greyelf tried to loop him.
