There are enough owls that Skizzix could fly - the beasts can be stabled for an hour alone surely. We can even add one more to our entourage and still all fly owls given that 2 of our 9 are insubstantial manifestations of sentient objects

Del takes note of the names,, adding to his list of victims - it keeps growing faster than we rescue

“That’s not a funny joke Raven. Surely Del can create another owl for him. We just don’t want you in the crossfire if anything happens.” Quentin tells our stablemaster. 

Elwin kept silent over the slight controversy. While he understood Skizzix wanting to not be bored... didn't he also want to... live? The whole point of him being in the tapestry was for safety purposes. It seemed odd to him that an adult would ever complain of boredom when they had enough agency to do whatever they wanted--and enough sense to know to be patient.

Simply shaking his head, he simply asked "Onward to Slate City then?" Adding, "I doubt we'll actually find the little ogres there, but I am starting to wonder just how many children we're going to find when we get to the bottom of this." The thought couldn't help but anger him somewhat.

"Eh, no, I'm fine inside," Skizzix says hastily. "Have to make sure Bongo and Laughtrack keep fed and happy, or who knows what they will help themselves to."

Soon everything is packed up, your promises given to the ogres, and you set off back to catch a boat for Slate City. 

(If you ride on instead of camping, you will get to Yonpinagel before midnight, but possibly too late to hire a boat tonight. Once you get there, will you look for a boat immediately, or spend the night in an inn and look in the morning?  Also, you have the option of getting Skizzix's brother's fast boat for 300g or looking for a cheaper ride with one of the other riverboats.)

"Probably."  Raven says when told her joke was in bad taste.  She would tend to her horse, in the tapestry, then be ready to mount an owl for the flight.

Del was more enthusiastic about the sword quest because the fast boat would make up time - so overnight in Yonpinigel and fast boat in the morning is his preference. You might catch him looking at Raven with an unspoken hint.

(No clue what the unspoken hint is for, so guess Raven won't notice it...)

Raven is also for the night's rest and then the fast boat in the morning.  She would take time to find a smith who she can purchase a sheath for her new blade while in town.

Del summons the owls, and the party mounts up for the first leg of your flight.  The sun is on your right and slightly behind you as you head northeast toward Yonpinagel. 

Two wyverns flying from the east possibly have the sun in their eyes, and are on a collision course with you...or perhaps it's intentional, and you all look like a delicious in-flight dinner...

Mindartis looks at the Wyverns and sighs, "Can we go 5 minutes without running into something that wants to kill us?"

"Perhaps they're just curious?" responded Elwin hopefully, but not really believing his own suggestion.

Whispering to his owl to stay in formation, he let go, and used his winged boots to fly alongside the group, (( he has to Dash to keep up, )) dropping a little back just long enough to cast a quick defensive spell.

Trying to remain relaxed, as if there was nothing to be afraid of, he kept the wyverns in the corner of his eye, just in case they did decide to attack....

Blinking in the sunlight, the wyverns either seem not to notice you, or not to be interested,  They pass by at a nerve-wrackingly close distance.  The rest of the flight goes by quietly, and the ride to Yonpinagel is peaceful as well.  You arrive at Yonpinagel a little before midnight, and stop at an inn, where the innkeepers leap to their feet in joy at having a customer, and offer you food and the best rooms in the house.

Skizzix goes off to spend the night at his brother's house, and promises that the boat will be ready in the morning.

Raven finds a smith perfectly happy to be woken up at midnight to make a custom scabbard.  Allistane is extremely picky about materials and style, and keeps up a constant stream of suggestions and demands in your head as the sheath is made.

(5gp for the inn, 15 gp for the special scabbard, 300 to charter the express boat.)

Nevermind, that was lucky

Raven is fairly thick-headed most of the time, but she thought over the looks Del was giving her and finally thought she understood.  "I'll pay for the boat, the stay at the inn, and, of course, my new sheath." She informs the group.  "It is the least I can do for your help with my side task."

In the morning, Skizzix appears at the inn to lead you to his brother's boat. (Any last minute things you want to do before you leave?) It's a bit shabby-looking, but long and sleek. You only hope it's as fast as it looks. Skizzix throws his arm around a short, stocky gnome and says, "This is my brother Bampf, the fastest sailor and smartest shipbuilder in all of Yonpinagel!"  Blushing slightly, the other gnome reaches out to shake hands,  saying, "It's a pleasure to do business with you.  Thank you for looking after my brother so well."

A few young crew gnomes  hastily start making preparations to set sail.

Before bed, Del wants to cast a Sending to tell Sister Almara we are coming and warning of possible danger

In the morning he makes ready to get underway, wondering why sailing seems so familiar to a street kid lubber like himself - possibly some link to an alternate reality?

That is more than is necessary, Sister Del reacts, but decides not to argue with the gesture Thank you

(( Also before bed, Elwin will approach Quentin, just to remind him that if he wants to update his backup spellbook, the few hours this trip takes might not be a bad time. ))
