“I found many who would have stopped me, but of friends, only these two.” She calls back to the spiky intersection, “Tanakir, Rycider, what is keeping you?”

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Tanakir marches around the corner, rolling his eyes, “Always hasty, Killian. Well, it is good to see you two, though... this means that Aradurk is alone. Or back on the boat with Wes. I wouldn’t put it past him to have made his way out already.”
The moment Tanakir speaks his thought, with five companions reunited, the walls of the maze fade. In a flash, the five of you stand in the center of the temple that led you here. Aradurk is nowhere to be seen.
Bolt, the odd looking mechanical native who bade you enter in the first place, saunters toward you from the entrance.
"Ones did it. Ones have learned to work together," the creature says excitedly. "I am very excited. Many ones come here, but most ones find it too difficult."
Bolt's lone eye casts downward as he continues, "Most ones do not come back," then back upward to finish, "But not these ones! These ones have earned what ones seek."
A small compartment opens up in the creature's face, and from it exits a chunk of crystal, covered in similar arcane markings to the crystal staff that Wes has been studying.
“Six of us entered. There are only five here. Where is the sixth?” Killian tries again, thinking their mechanical nature might respond better to numbers.

Hox goes for the crystal, "Shiny..." He says as he's excited with his new found treasure. He gives a glance up to see the party to ask as well, "Where is green one?"
Bolt's head cocks to the opposite side as the small creature rumbles in apparent confusion. "No, not six. The test is complete when all of the ones have found each other by working together," it says. Then, at the mention of "the green one", it points toward the shore. "A green one is located at your vessel, and a small one as well. A green one has not traversed to this temple."
The droid-like being takes the piece of crystal staff in its hand and holds it outward insistently, saying, "I do not understand. One is expected to be pleased at the passing of the test. One has succeeded!"
"I cannot, for this is my place," Bolt answers. The strange creature also hands a pile of small gears and screws over to Hox, saying, "We thank one for one's gift! The items one gave to us were very valuable for repairs. I found more that we are not using for one to take in return."
Hox takes the return gift and starts to gnaw on the gears, teeth against its teeth. "We have rock so yes?" He is willing to hand the rock to someone else if they want it. "Small human can tell what this one for."
The beach, only a short distance away, looks as it did when you left it, aside from the small number of mechanical creatures gathered around Maverick. When you arrive, Wes seems to be deep in conversation with them, excitedly jotting their responses down in one of his books. Next to him, true to Bolt's word, is Aradurk, looking quite healthy and speaking with another of the creatures. As you approach, the resident of the island presents him with a familiar staff - another Staff of the Magi.
"Hox is the only one of us I have found. Have you had any better luck? Finding friends that is?" Gruun gives her a wink at her bloodied appearance.

Sorry gang, got distracted by shiny things!
Rycider hears the joy in Killians voice and immediately retrieves her bag and makes her way to her.

Rycider, half way to grabbing the arcane gem from the mechanoids face, stops and looks around, now aware of the missing half-orc.
Her hand recoils as she waits for its answer.
Bolt cocks his head to the side slightly. "I do not know this one by name. But perhaps this is one that is at your sea vehicle?" it suggests.

Gruun moves around to surround the small machine. "If our friend is still in there you're going to send us back for him."

Gruun walks in silence for a few moments. "Did we accomplish what we needed? It seems like we succeeded..."

Killian simply smiles and claps Aradurk on the shoulder as she passes him to heave herself aboard. “Good to see you looking well,” she says.
She doffs her armor and tends her wounds, washing up in the process. There is a lot of blood on her, some of it red, much of it mixed.
