Aradurk, stretching from sleep, hears Hox. “I know a thing or two about departing from instinct. Growing up, many mates of mine chose to form packs of raiding bands, true to the Orc side of our heritage. I chose the order of military life and then the life as an adventurer for the kingdom. Your choice to be part of this team is a good one. What will you do when this has run its course, Hox?”
Hox seems perplexed as he actually tries to think of what his goal is. What will he do after he amassed his hoard. He gives a slight groan, "Hox not know...maybe make big cave for hoard? Hox not want to go back to clan...Hox not want new clan...Hox wants...to stay with Killjoy and Gruun. Hox also like orc man, warm man, flashy female, and small man. Even if Hox went back to clan, Hox not want to work for the clan again. Clan changes too often." He gives a slight complaint, "Should Hox want more than shiny?"
(You can ask about the clan change thing. Hox thinks its a normal thing but its not.)

As your conversation settles, you spot the passage of another ship some hundred yards away, steering to face your direction. Twice as large as Maverick, its sails are down, and oars at its side row tactically to turn it toward you as it approaches.
Aradurk, noticing the ship, lowers his voice, "Hox good with this clan. Clan appreciates Hox. Now let's see who shares the water with us", pointing to the larger craft.
Aradurk readies his hand on his weapon.

OOC: We never really set a watch order, so for the sake of moving forward, everyone is awake for this.
The larger boat approaches yours cautiously, slowing as it closes in, and after a reptilian form on deck barks commands to the rowers below, it comes to a stop about fifty feet away. Even in the low light of the moonlit night, the unmistakable form of lizardfolk centaurs mill above deck. At the prow, an older centaur (but much younger than the ancient being you encountered on the swampy island) hails you in a language that only Hox understands.
"Qe wux thurirlvi? Wux re wer irral yth tepoha ocuirtor persvek xinor."
For Hox:
"Be you friendly? You are the first we have seen in weeks."
Upon seeing Aradurk's relaxed tension and hearing Hox's words, the centaur visibly relaxes. He calls back "Astahii renthisj thurirlvi." A moment passes, and a pair of lizardfolk centaurs, a male and female, emerge and flank him along the side of the ship as it pulls up alongside Maverick, stopping around 10 feet away.
The sight of one of the new arrivals is remarkable - the male centaur must surely be a son or some relation to the elder that you met. This centaur could be 50 years younger, but the resemblance is uncanny.
"Coi ui abhlek vi bensvelk quilins batobot wer irral xiekivi yth ocuir persvek hesi z'ar okarthel re ti giln," the woman says. Her counterpart speaks, "De svaklar tir wux ossalur? Both glance around the party until the older centaur points out Hox as the resident translator.
For Hox:
The first call: "They seem friendly."
The woman: "Consider us fortunate that the first people we have seen in our new home are not hostile."
The man: "From where do you folks travel? Are you all open to weighing anchor with us here tonight? The more eyes the better out here, we have seen strange things in this sea."
Killian keeps her eyes on the centaurs. “I suspect these are those we met earlier, dead now, and caught in the time swirls Wes was speaking of. Perhaps it best we learn of their current task, and tell them of what we search for, that they will know it and wait for us.”

Aradurk Investigation: 16
For Aradurk:
There's no denying the resemblance that the other two lizardfolk centaurs share with the statues discovered on that island. The centaurs on this boat might be a few years younger, but the first one that called out to you looks exactly like the first statue you came across, and the female centaur looks like another in the cluster where you fought the swamp ooze.
Aradurk takes in a deep breath and exhales slowly. "You're right Killian. We should break bread with them tonight. Hox - we will need to warn them about the swamp ooze."
