Frostbite drops his axe to the ground and takes a seat in one of the still-standing benches. "That was a lot. What were those things? They looked a little like the thing we fought back at the house. Is everything in this place undead?" Grabbing some cloth from his bag the Barberian starts to pack the wound that he received during the battle. Once happy that the blood had stopped flowing he then began to drag over some of the dead to examine them a little closer.
As Torke wanders through the doors of the Church, his scan of the bodies is light and quick. He misses the majority of the loot to be found, seeing only that there is only one surviving zombie from the Horde, and its the one whose legs he blasted off earlier in the fight. It is still raining, and the Church, Graveyard, Forest and Well are all simple constructions just holding out through the weather.
Prosinet sees differently, however, and recognizes small metal trinkets that have been over polished to a near mirror sheen. Initially he finds only a few, on necklaces and in pockets then it becomes obvious that nearly every zombie, if not every zombie, has at least one in some form or another. They seem to feel warm when touched, and after Prosinet is done there is a small pile, worth maybe a whole bar of this strange metal. It hums lightly when you listen.
As Prosinet heads back to the Alchemy table, his list of options becomes clear...
At this extremely crude distillation table, you find your choices are limited*.
*This list does not include the Lich's Acoylte.
You have the knowledge to make 3 different normal buffs, 2 healing, and a single damaging.
Buffs:
-Manafall (Add a single spell slot equal to your level) Blueherb + Green Herb
-The Guardian's Draft (+3 to your AC for the next 2 hours) Green Herb + Green Herb
-Aru's Rage (+5/+2 to your next Melee\Range attack) Green Herb + Purple Herb
Healing:
-Lesser Restoration (Cure aliments) Blue + Blue
-Bottled Cleric (Restore 4 health) Blue + Purple
Damaging:
-Molotov's Masterpiece (1 Ranged 10 AoE Fire Damage, +10 to Throw) Green + Green
Based on your surroundings, you concur that you have the ability to scavenge Green and Blue in the forest but not purple. This is a survival\herbalism kit roll.
It is easy to get help for these as its just “So and so tries to find however many blue herbs...”
Example rolls:
If you roll 16 you get however many bluesare in the area and maybe a green.
if you roll 14 you only find 1 or 2 blues and a handful of greens
if you roll 11 a single greenherb, and 3 grey mushrooms
if you roll 8 you'd find nothing.
Examples of the “green herb” are the unnamed Grave Lichen, which technically occurs anywhere but you've been trained to find magically enhanced Lichen and roll specifically to find that variant, like you would for Purple herbs.
You Need 18+ to find a single PurpleHerb. They do not occur everywhere like the Grey\Green\Blue ones. In the same way, specifically named herbs occur in specific areas, and not outside them.
Examples for this include Goddard's Glowcap, which is not Purple but only occurs in controlled environments, such as a Herbalists garden.
Technically, the only one you have the ingredients for right now is Flaming Skull. you'd need to either go find or enlist some help to go find some herbs in the forest for the others.
Frostbite sees that this dead thing is in fact quiet dead, and that when Prosinet removes its ring with the small piece of humming metal, it becomes much older and much more decayed.

Torke Aldrehas
Showing little indifference, Torke aims his free-hand on the final remaining horde entity, promptly ending its prone shambling via an Eldritch Blast, released directly onto the entity's head in precise and methodical precision. Looking at the dispatched corpses, he barely sighs, saying, "What of each of your examinations with these corpses?" he says, a cold tone emanating from his voice. He automates his breath, continuing to say, "Is Mr. Wilcox still asleep? Rather worthless in our encounters if he will only sleep through them." from a cold to a scornful voice and expression, Torke waits for a response before he exits through the churchgrounds. He searches for twigs, branches, and leaves on the ground, using some of the leaves and branches to cover the church's windows while using the rest of the leaves and twigs on the ground infront of the church's entrance.
Upon closer inspection on his sheathed blade, it seems to tug or move ever-so-slightly in your field of vision, almost in reaction to something; the black tendril crossguard also seems to have disappeared, being replaced by a well-designed black guard— the handle and pommel remain otherwise the same.
Survival: roll value- 17 ((Imposing some advantage as Torke is experienced with living in outlandish conditions, using nature to reinforce or improve his daily survival))
"Well the things are dead. Not sure what those noisy things our small friend seems to be collecting are." Walking over to Prosinet to look over the top of him. "Care to enlighten us to what you have found."
Nature: These are Oak trees, good for crafting and old meaning the wood is right for everything it can be used for. The rain seems as though it is never going to stop, and, there are no animals nearby. As you walk into the forest, you feel a pressure leave your shoulders that you hadn't noticed was there. There is a light, incredibly feint bubble surrounding the clearing that has the Church in it. You continue your walk around the treeline, from the inside, and it encircles the clearing. As you do this...
Survival: (😏 Did you go looking for the herbs in Prosinet's message?)
(I agree, an Outlander would know how to herbalism. I forgot to mention that one roll for Survival\Herbalism kit is like 15 minutes of the character looking through. Its an entire Forest and I don't think Torke just wandered over and looked at every tree in a 3 mile radius in that quick speed run over there and back to the Church. There could be more but you have to roll a bunch of times or let me know that your going to dedicate that amount of time to do that so I can advance the sun\moon cycle appropriately.)
Result: You find 3 blueherbs among the trees. They were growing as flowers before maturing into fruit, and you managed to collect some.
"These petals are known to cure many types of sickness." comes across your mind, recognizing a similar line of plants native to your home area.
He returns shortly after roughly 10-15 minutes back with the herbs stored in an empty pouch on his leather silk-lined belt. He walks up toward the Forest Gnome Prosinet, striding as he makes his way through the slain horde entities. He places the herbs onto the alchemy table gently, speaking to the gnome via a hushed tone, "I see to it that you should work on the Human's ailment contracted by those entities," pointing his chin to Sam, he stands up after kneeling to the gnome to speak, going outside to begin reinforcing the churchs' broken window panes with methodically placed tree branches before he leads to make a 4 foot length and 4 foot wide makeshift alarm made of several leaves and well-placed twigs scattered on the leaves right outside of the church doors that open inwards. Eventually once Torke is finished, he returns his attention to the group while slicing up the entities' cadavers, stacking the remains onto a far corner from the church doors itself, evaluating the churchgrounds' material before he thinks of lighting the bodies aflame.
"Umm not sure really what these rings are, they are shiny for sure, they have some sort of magical resonance. I'll get to them i a minute. I am pretty concerned about Sam's wound there, I think we need to treat it. Perhaps while I am figuring these rings out, some of you could see if you can go find some mosses I saw in the surrounding forest for me? Specifically the blue ones, that would be most helpful." "I can go in search of the moss." As FrostBite walks towards the door he stops at Sam having a look at his wound. "It is only a scratch. With a bit of rest it will be OK. Come join me in looking for the moss to get your mind off it." He then retrieves his Battleaxe andgets a torch out of his backpack.
Lighting a torch off one of the candles the Dragonborn will step around the "Alarm System" as best he can and head towards the forest in search of the moss Prosinet requested.
Prosinet's spell is successful and he gains insight into this humming metal...
These trinkets are made of a metal, a metal you do not know. They are magical and It is a specific kind of magic.
As far as your magic allows, you understand that this metal posses preservative qualities, that are connected to it on a unrefined level, from the very ore that it comes from.
A dwarf would be handy for more insight.
Also Torke found 3 of the Blue herbs and put them on the table, Sam and Frostbite might not have noticed but you definitely see it on the table next to your things. He was really nonchalant about it but he definitely rolled high enough to run over and scrape 3 of the flowers off some fruit trees for a lesser restoration.
Frostbite can visibly see Sam is unwell, from a deeply central level. Weak and strained breathing, a general distaste always in his mouth, his eyes forcing themselves to stay focused on not closing in pain.
Torke begins to stack his wicker-zombie pyre, dreams of burning, of flame during the rainstorm on the horizon.
Frostbite and Sam's efforts are in vain! They stumble through the rain and trees and while Frostbite's attempts at well placed, he manages to harvest only a single blue herb before noticing that Sam has been staring at the same tree for half of the time you've been out.
Prosinet hears Wilcox laugh a little, and start to get up. Frostbite, Sam, and, Torke can see his form pull up on the bench he was laying on from outside the Church doors near Torke's pile.
He remains silent, eyes closed with a smirk afterwards till everyone has come back in the Church.
"Sam." FrostBite puts a hand on the fighters shoulder. "Sam. I may have been mistaken about the seriousness of you wound. Lets head back with what we have got. Maybe this will be enough to cure what ever you have been affected by."
On seeing the old man getting up FrostBite helps Sam back into the church. Putting the moss on the table he heads towards Wilcox to work out what the old man had got hem into. "I am glad you have managed to get some sleep. The rest of us kept the undead from eating you. Maybe now you can give us some information about where we are and what we are to expect going forward."
Torke stares at the stacked chopped-up cadaver pyre, knowing that lighting it aflame would only attract outside attention from more forest inhabitants, or presumably worse. Torke traces his attention to the now-awake Wilcox, acknowledging his smirk as negative body-language, replying with a distant yet callous glare for a moment. Eventually, he notices that Sam and Frostbite returns with only one of the herbs he had found from his search. He comments almost retroactively to both of them, "If it is a problem for both of you to find more of the herbs, you may have asked me to look for more instead," he recognizes their findings as the herbs from earlier immediately, not bearing himself to comment more on his superiority knowing it can have a negative-outlook at times. Disregarding the notion of competition, he swiftly jumps over his makeshift alarm, catching the Forest Gnome Prosinet identifying a metal unknown to him. Walking to his direction, he breathes rather deeply before speaking, "There are herbs on your table of craft I seeked out earlier. You should use those," in a matter-of-fact tone hinting to no emotion, he catches his sight on the metals. His Longsword faintly pulses from where its fuller has been replaced with the white crystal, emanating a deeper hum from the metal present. Unbeknownst to his own conscious, he draws the longsword, pointing its speartip to the humming metal.

Torke may not yet be familiar with the metals, but how does the sentient soul within the longsword respond? What emotion, thought, or idea would it convey to Torke mentally via their pact?

"Hmm these rings are strange, the magic in them seems to preserve some semblance of the wearers life force, could be interesting..."Prosinet stares at the trinkets for a few minutes and then ushers them all into the pouch.
'Oh yes, Sam, hold on there." With that Prosinet scoops up the blue herbs and heads over to the crude lab.
Would Prosinet know the benefits of wearing the trinkets?
He will then use the four herbs collected to brew two potions of Greater Restoration.

Torke Aldrehas
While Prosinet has ushered the rings into the pouch, his facial expression contorts into a desperate emotion for physical contact. His hands placed quickly onto the pouch while the Forest Gnome is left to his own devices. Once complete, he holds the trinkets in his free-right hand, and lightly taps the strange longsword via its fuller.
His thoughts are empty, only a noteworthy emotion of almost a lust can be visibly seen in his posture, his composure completely shattered, and seemingly no different to the shambling horde's entities if it were not for his previous-self.
Prosinet can feel the preservative properties, it is known to you in the way that you understand healing magic does healing. You don't know how exactly the magic works but you are sure that it heals.
Also, the alchemy roll didn't go through, but for reference, here's the roll chart on Alchemy for normal potions. Its a little bit different than Lich's Acolyte because those have some INSANE effects and its really a quest item. This is more for mechanics like healing\curing\etc. Also, multiple potions at one time is possible here, the ones in that book make however many varying per recipe.
Potion effectiveness is measured against 16 in this specific instance because Flesh Rot is a 16 Constitution Disease. It is not always this hard. Molotov for example rolls against AC.
Every 25% lost is -1 on a D20, with 100% being a instant no roll effect. At 75%, the user would roll a D20-1 against whatever they are facing. At 50%, D20-2, At 25%. D20-3 and at 1%, D20-4.
Maximum 3 potions in one alchemy roll.
You do not have 6 herbs at this time, but if you did: At 20, three potions at 100%,
You do not have 6 herbs at this time, but if you did: At 19 two potions at 100%, one potion at 50%
At 18, two potions at 100%,
At 17, one potion at 100%, one at 50%
At 16, a single potion at 100%,
At 12, a single potion at 75%, D20-1
At 8, a single potion at 50%, D20-2
At 4, A single potion at 25%, D20-3
At 1, A single potion at 1%, D20-4
Torke...
Torke places a hand on the pouch and can feel something pulling from the hip. The sword wishes to touch the metal.
(If Torke moves the bag, Prosinet will notice. As of now, you have had a hand on top it without him seeing you, but if Torke picks it up, that's definitely going to draw some attention.)
Torke feels a pulse from the hip. The sword must touch the metal. It must.
"You know, you all have a certain talent for cleaning up the messes of other people. I had considered this place to be safe after Father Lucas passed away, but it appears that merely abandoning the site has not solved the problem. I'll be honest, I was a bit tired and I needed rest. I took a small nap and woke up to find you all mid clean up, and decided to let it take its course."
He chuckles a bit
"Don't act like it was all that difficult, I saw you blasting them apart. Also, that metal is dangerous. I would heavily advise you respect it, and not spend too much time around it."
He remains vague about the danger, and continues on without pause.
"I also believe it would be wise to leave as soon as possible. While you all may not have had as much rest as I, I'm an old man, and I think you'll forgive me once you see where we are going."
He stands, and starts heading towards the door
"Once our Master Alchemist has finished curing Sam, please join me in the courtyard and we can continue on. It shouldn't be much longer."
FrostBite resignes to just following along. He has gotten this far might as well see it out. But he is not too happy about the lack of information.
The large dragonborn would cut a wide birth of the collection of metal now that he had been told they are dangerous. He is not too surprised as they were found on the undead.
Picking up the rest of his equipment he follows Wilcox out of the Church.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Torke Adrehas
Torke stops himself from intruding any further, steeling his sense over the blade's desperation and instead opts to reason, "You heard what Mr. Wilcox said, this metal is dangerous and could be a liability. You may work on what you need to cure the Human while I dispose of the metal in the woods. You can trust me, as I am better at navigating; finding a good area to dump this metal will be of ease to me," Torke says, matter-of-fact in matter, his voice not waning but instead portrays years of experience.
Torke takes the pouch of the metal, carrying it via his hands covered by the tentacle-leathered gloves. He only nods to Mr. Wilcox, intending his body language to show that he is going to dispose of it.
((I'd think the Deception would be unnecessary since Torke is naturally experienced in false pretenses, but incase))
If his rouse is successful, Torke makes his way into a deeper part of the forest, considerably of a range of 30 minutes away from his companions, before he opens the pouch, and rest the longsword's fuller over the exposed metals.
So this roll is kind of complicated, Prosinet doesn't necessarily have to believe you to want to stop you from holding it. For example, even if you a rolled a perfect 20, Prosinet could completely believe you and still want the metal.
There is a pause in time before Torke walks away from the table to ask an important question:
Does Prosinet react to Torke taking the bag? Prosinet has complete control over how if so, and things will play out differently.
If Prosinet does not react to Torke taking the bag in a way that would prevent Torke from leaving the room, it plays out as written.
Outside, Wilcox turns and starts speaking to Frostbite so low that only Frostbite may hear him.
"May I ask you something?" The old man wonders with patience in his voice, yet he asks without waiting for your reply.
"Is there a reason you chose to enter battle the way you do?" His eyes sober, he's asking you this from a place of searching for an answer to a problem. Its clear to you that while he is personally curious as well, his primary intention with this question is to determine your ability to solve that problem.
(When you answer, go to level 3, and please tell me what Path you chose. Everyone is going to be leveling up, but yours will immediately impact the next part of the story.)

Sleight of Hand: roll value- 19
Prosinet...
It must.
Wilcox address you all, in his usual calm tone.
FrostBite | Dragonborn Barbarian | Rage 0/2 | Cold Breath (Con 12) 0/1
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Deception: roll value- 18
((I'd think the Deception would be unnecessary since Torke is naturally experienced in false pretenses, but incase))
If his rouse is successful, Torke makes his way into a deeper part of the forest, considerably of a range of 30 minutes away from his companions, before he opens the pouch, and rest the longsword's fuller over the exposed metals.
Torke and Prosinet,
So this roll is kind of complicated, Prosinet doesn't necessarily have to believe you to want to stop you from holding it.
