"Um..." The halfling says, glancing around with a bit of concern in his eyes, but not looking defeated by any means. "You have me mistaken for the rock gnome over there I think. He is the one that was so interested in the thing after all..."
Germain takes notice of the exchange between Toc and the halfling, but does nothing more than watch at this time, though he tries to determine where the halfling might be hiding the ring.
Germain would know the wagon the halfling usually drives. Though he would also know a ring would fit in the halfling's pockets as easily as in one of the packs on that wagon.
Naroth would continue to look over the spectacle and again try to see if anyone else is looking to take advantage of the situation. He will move back over to his ward and stand in front of him just in case things go wrong.
Does anyone else wish to make a persuasion or intimidation check in regard to the halfling? There are others around, watching the situation, but none seem too-interested.
"Oh, are you sure of this Toc?" Ulric asks. Before Toc can answer he rounds on Enom, "I've already questioned one person on this issue, and they were very forcoming. I'd had to think you were reluctant to assist in 'finding' what was lost. Failure to help would result in a penalty." Ulric puts on hand on the head of his warhammer, "I'm sure you can guess what I mean by 'penalty' my small friend."
Intimidate 17
Well, when I initially saved it read a roll of 17.
The halfling frowns, looking between Toc and Ulric, his face going pale as Ulric touches the weapon at his belt. "Hey, I aint stolen a thing." The halfling says, pulling an item from his pocket. "Done found this ring, just laying on the ground I did... Is it yours?" He holds up the ring in the palm of his hand. "See, I was just about to come over and see that you didn't go blaming that good Rock Gnome there, as I found this ring just laying about... I did..." He nods as he looks around, sweating greatly.
Radecere Perethun was clearly more than upset with Ulric for slandering his good name in front of the other caravan travelers. He made sure to get this point across quite well, as he left any campfire Ulric approached, and would not speak to Ulric no matter the situation.
The next two days worth of travel go fairly uneventfully. The days are sunny and the temperature modest.
On the third day Beyd Sechepol, a merchant whose wagon is filled with Ale and beer, which he sells to the other members of the caravan, approaches Ulric. "Uwe, I thought I recognized you." The man says, offering Ulric his hand. "Sorry for not recognizing you before, but, with all of the armor and such on, it was difficult to recognize you." He hands over a pint of ale for Ulric. "Did your business up North work out well then, I am honestly surprised to see you going North again, as it was not that long ago you were going that way..."
"Ah Beyd. My apologies for not coming to see you sooner. I've been focused on my duties and neglected to review the rest of the wagons." Ulric says joyfully. "I'm afraid my last trip did not fair as well as I would have liked, hence the manner of my return. I believe this trip will fair better. And yourself? How is business?"
Naroth will continue to perform his duties, keeping an eye on the road and anyone else that approaches his ward, not being overly threatening but making his presence known. In the down time he will continue to talk with Thezzela and grab whatever food that the little dragon wants. Asking if he is enjoying his time and if there is anything the little creature might want.In the ouch that Thezzela sleeps in, Naroth will occasionally drop a couple of gold coins that he can then sleep on.

Ok Toc knows he is not telling the truth. What does he do about it?
Toc looks at him, "Enom, I know you took it. Give it up and things won't get even more unpleasant for you."

Ulric notices Toc questioning the halfling and comes over to investigate, "Toc, what concerns you?"
"Oh, he's the one that stole your ring." Toc looks to the man, "Don't even bother denying it fool."

Toc does his best 'disgruntled pissed off mercenary' impression of a loud grumpy, "Hmmrrphhh."
Then he walks off to go get some rest. He has his familiar keep a look out when he's meditating.
