Germain nods, "The wooden scabbard made it look like a bow at first, but its definitely a rapier. I will stick with my gauntlets, you're welcome to it if you'd like. I think you're right about the metaphors, reinforcing our need to keep our heads down for the rest of the trip. As for why the spirit of the land is helping, I imagine chromatic dragons are more interested in dominating the land rather than respecting it. Let's go."
Toc nods, picks up the rapier, and, covering it in an invisible cloak (assuming that works), and heads back to the camp with the group. Using message, he'll brief the group on what happened.

Toc shrugs and grins at Taviel, "I will accept the order 'keep doing what you are doing!'....everytime, if they give me a magical sword at the same time."

The travel continues along, no more deaths happening over the next several days of travel. On the afternoon of one day the caravan comes into sight of Daggerford ahead.
"This will be the end of our time together it seems." Master Thorne tells Toc as they walk together near the wizard's apprentice. "Be watchful of yourself, I think you likely have the more dangerous road."
The caravan arrives in the large town, and find an inn that has room for many of the members of the caravan. Master Thorne and his apprentice break off though, heading to a different inn, one that they seem to have made arrangements to stay at already.
Toc nods solemnly to the wizard. “Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and wise words. It would seem that warnings of the danger ahead are coming from many sources, but ahead we shall go regardless. It must be done. Best of luck on your path. With luck we will one day meet again.”
Toc, low on cash, is relegated to sleeping in his tent. His rat keeps watch on his tent while he meditates, and then he keeps watch on the rest of the camp looking through his rats senses on and off. The rat keeps a smell out for the scent of the assassin.

After everything that happened, there was no way Taviel will leave the wagon. Though she used some free time to meet with Nodwick and Nissa - she missed both and appretiated the chance to check on them.
Germain will actually remember some of his old skills, and set up a magical alarm around Naroth's wagon before spending the night near his employer again.
You spend the next day in Daggerford, the last day-long stop before Waterdeep. The caravan resupplies as needed, Loren speaking with many of the merchants on the caravan to learn what each needs for supplies. Nothing too-eventful happens in Daggerford. Master Thorne seems to be waiting for someone, at his tavern if anyone checks on him, the ones he hired to aid him in his acquisitions trip not having arrived yet.
Two individuals join the caravan at Daggerford.
Azbara Jos is a male human who always wears a wool cap with ear and neck flaps to cover his head. It’s not an especially effective disguise; characters who make a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check notice the edges of the tattoos peeking out from under the cap.
Jos buys space aboard one of the cult wagons, although they turned away everyone else who sought passage earlier in the journey. He does not mingle with the other travelers and seldom speaks to anyone except the man who seems to be the leader of the cultists.
Jamna Gleamsilver is a female gnome. She keeps to herself for the most part,.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Naroth Perception: 20
Looking at the new additions to the caravan, Wonder what trouble those two will bring to the caravan, especially with "Joe" joining the cultists, well they did say adventuring would not be boring.
Then he would continue about his duties of following his ward around keeping a look out for danger.
Toc approaches each of the two new additions, and introduces himself. He has a quick little chat, not being nosy, but trying instead just to be friendly and get a bit of a sense of them.
He does check in on Master Thorne to see who he's fallen in with for his task. But...having an important quest in front of him, he's unable to really help.
Really, he's eager to continue following the road of gold.
Germain perception: 18 Germain history: 22 (What would he know about the Thayans? Specifically in regards to their relationship with dragon cultists.)
Germain politely introduces himself to the newcomers, making a point to quietly warn Jos about some rumors about Toc poisoning another recent newcomer who has since left.
(Trying to keep some distance between him and the others and get an in with them. Deception: 10 +guidance2)
Germain would know the general history of the land, but nothing regarding relationships with dragonkind. He, of course, would know about Red Wizards, though only a few of that land's people actually become the famed wizards.
Jos thanks Germain for the warning.
You guys wish to do anything more at this point, or should we move onward?
In Ulric's experience hunting cultist, discretion is more effective sometimes than confrontation. Ulric will continue to guard the wagon and wait. Clear that there is still an assassin to worry about and a long journey yet ahead.

Naroth will once more stay the night in the wagon he is guarding but this time he will ask that Thezzela keep a watch out during the night.

Ulric will stay with the wagon continuing his role as a guard. He'll be on higher alert in case the assassin returns.
