Germain waits for Toc's illusion, then quietly pulls the door open to see what's inside, all the while thinking he should have gone with his first idea and burned the building down.
The door swings open without noise. Inside, through the wispy form of the door, you see several of the familiar lizardfolk in the chamber. Even as you watch several disappear down through a trapdoor in the far end of the chamber, carrying crates away. It appears that they have been at this for some time, as not much is left in the chamber.
Toc messages Germain, "Well...that's a surprise, sorta. You suppose the lizard folk are in league with the cult, or stealing from them? Either way, I suppose we follow after they're done to see where they're taking it."
He steps into the room and to one side, leaning against the wall, and waits.

Ulric gestures toward the lizard folk and speaks barely over a whisper "This supply station and the cult would not keep using this warehouse if it kept getting robbed. This is intentional. We must follow them without waking the camp."
Naroth is outside waiting by the exit door of the tavern looking at the party as they start to walk through the stable's door. He is not sure exactly what is happening and is a little wary of following behind them being the clumsy fool that he is.
Germain looks puzzled and whispers back, "Why not wake the camp? If we disappear at the same time the treasure does without us alerting them, they'll think we stole it."
You would realize that the trapdoor, these lizardfolk are using, is part of the building. It is not a recent thing, and appears to have been built for this exact purpose. There is little doubt it was placed to get items from this room, and you would not really believe that this would be going on without the people who run this place already knowing about it.
Taviel was observing the happening with the others and prepared to attack as well. "But if they are not thieves," (the information was obviously discussed), "we will have the whole place against us. Can Toc send his familiar after them to watch?"
Toc whispers back, "I haven't changed my familiar yet, it's still a raven and will take 10 minutes to change. Germain and I are invisible, we'll just follow them. I'll leave my familiar here, he will lead you to wherever we end up, follow him."
Toc moves into the door and stays quiet just inside the room, looking for an opportunity to follow through the trap door and figure out where they're going....feeling about to ensure Germain has come with him.

I also just realized that though minor illusion doesn't require concentration, casting any spell breaks his invisibility. So, I suppose he uses up another 3rd level slot to be invisible, but then we're clumsy and loud, so....it may not help.
The lizardfolk glance over at sounds from both Germain and Toc, but go back to their work when nothing seems amiss.
Following after the lizardfolk, Germain and Toc find...
The tunnel from the roadhouse emerges in a spot nearby that’s screened by trees and brush from the camp. As Germain and Toc approach through the tunnel, either of them with a passive Wisdom (Perception) score of 10 or higher hears bestial voices ahead, growling and murmuring indistinctly in Draconic.
As the two of you exit the cluster of trees and brush you find a soggy path leading towards the Mere of Dead Men. The tracks are fresh,a nd you can see lizardfolk ahead carrying crates down the path ahead.
Please give me new stealth rolls as you continue to follow. Rolls can be made with advantage.
Naroth looks about and then whispers, "Where did they go?" Then will reach for the door handle to silently open the door. As he hands goes through the handle he will exclaim a little bit and then look about the place.
"We should find out where they have gone and catch back up to them, this is not the place to have a split party." He mentions.

Ulric nods toward Toc without speaking. He puts his free hand on his mace. A look of serious concentration on his face.

Germain, give me a sleight of hand check to see how silently you can open the door.

Toc shrugs, "That hasn't worked well for us so far. But sure, let's do it. Ready when you are, I'll leap in to attack."
He sends a quick message across the grounds to Naroth, "Thieves, we're going to raise the alarm. Get over here."
