Germain looks at the ground a bit closer and realizes there are signs of boats having been pulled up on the shoreline here. Clearly the lizardfolk had boats waiting for them at this point. Going by the tracks around the boat marks, it is fairly clear to him that those carrying heavy loads moved to the boats and placed their cargo onboard, then climbed in and moved off with the crafts.
When Toc's raven returns he mentions to the others, "It appears there are markings on trees for them to know the way. I don't suppose anyone can summon a boat or let us walk on water? Presuming not....do we.....venture into this filth or.....?"
Taviel energetically agreed with the idea. Even if somehow they could swim in the swamp, they would most likely lose marks on the trees or each other in the water.
"Well, we know our path but, given the circumstances, it might be best to wait for the dawn to continue our pursuit. Swimming in this muck will be hard enough during the day."
Naroth As you take first watch it is not long after starting that you notice three canoes approaching from the direction the raven returned from earlier as it scouted for Toc. Several figures can be seen in the canoes, but, due to darkness, you cannot see more than vague shapes.
(As the color doesn't affect seeing out of the hut, I think Naroth can be inside if they wish. That was what I figured, but, in the end, it is up to him.)
[OOC: sorry was heavily distracted by New World yesterday.]
Naroth would have been inside and upon noticing the creatures he would have gently shook the shoulder of his companions, one by one with a hand over their mouth so they do not make any noise and point in the direction of people outside the dome. Then hopefully clearly mouth the words "What Do, Attack or Watch?"
"For waking us up after that march through the swamps they deserve to be fried!" Taviel was awake and genuinely angry. Nissa, sensing her owner's feelings, hissed. Both were ready to fight.
Three boats glide through the water, closing on the shorline near the camp. Clearly the lizardfolk, which you soon are able to make out in the darkness, have made this trip before. They are headed for the same location Germain had seen signs of other boats having been pulled ashore. None of the lizardfolk have a weapon in-hand, and they are clearly not expecting anything other than an empty camp. None of them have noticed the dome-shaped tiny hut at this point. There are 9 of them, 3 in each boat. Do you allow them to reach the shoreline?
Ulric whispers to his companions, "We need to let them reach shore. We can ambush them as they secure the boats. We will need at least one to continue our pursuit. They will not be expecting an attack."

By the time the raven returns it is getting dark again. Are you going to take advantage of this camp for the night or do something else?
Toc suggests the group camp for the night here. (using a brown colored Tiny Hut to sleep in)

"Sleep here for the night it is then. I can take first watch." Naroth says.

Germain agrees to take a rest here, and offers to take whichever watch is needed.

What do you do?
Since we are in a brown-coloured Tiny Hut, the first question to Naroth - was he keeping watch outside or from the hut?

Toc opens his eyes as there is commotion in their bubble. He glances at the motioned to incoming boats. "I'm prepared to fight if you guys are."

Toc summons a shadow blade and starts his blade song as soon as they are mostly out of the boats. “Let’s attack when they are out of the boats.”
