((Taviel goes to her family house and invites everyone to join. If someone is against family reunions, they can wait in a closest Inn until Taviel makes sure that the summerhouse is prepared for the comfortable enough life for them all.))
Taviel smiled to Companion as to an old friend. "Did not know I will miss it so much. First month in Waterdeep was harsh - had to keep light on in my room. I do not afraid of darkness just was not used to it. Visitors here have the other problem - they can not sleep at night. But everyone learns eventually."
"So, are you coming with me or waiting? Adventurers are usually stay in "A Pair of Black Antlers" - it's on a Dock District on Maidensbridge Street, you can not miss it. But we might be better off in the summerhouse - some privacy might be needed, right?"
"Lead on, privacy is a concern especially with those that are after you, thee is probably more safety at your family house than an Inn." Naroth says as he absently scratches underneath the jaws of Thezzela.
Germain follows along as Taviel leads, smiling as Vilrana plays with her new friend, "Your family home sounds a good a place as any. Anything we should know about the town and local customs? I'm from quite a bit north and many things are likely different down here."
Taviel leads the way through the city to her family's estate. The mansion, as there is little else you could call it, was situated on prime land, with a view of the river and among the elite of the city. Taviel would notice changes though, even as she walked towards the gates that blocked access to her family's home. Gates that were 'always' left open, but now were closed tight. The guards manning those gates were new as well, not the simple servants that use to watch over those who entered or left the grounds, but with the look of mercenaries.
"State your business..." A grizzled old veteran orders as the group of you walk on up to the gaes. His eyes scan you all, then land on Taviel. He seems to straighten up a bit, then glances to the other two guards nearby. "Open the gate, it seems the wayward daughter has returned."
"One moment there." Another figure says as they exit from the gatehouse. This one wears the robes of a wizard, and starts to cast a spell. After a moment he looks you over, then gives a nod. "I don't detect any illusion magic on them..."
"Very well, open the gates." The veteran says, the two other guards moving to pull open the imposing barrier.
"Lenard?" Happy smile died on Taviel's lips and she looked at all the security with disturbed confusion, "What happened? Are my parents well? Who are those people?" She nodded toward new guards and the wizard. "What is going on here?"
"Your parents are inside and safe." The veteran says with a nod to the house. "Please join them." The guard glances over the others with Taviel at this point. "For security reasons I think your companions will need to find somewhere else to be." He informs Taviel. "There are many inns in town, I would suggest, strongly, that they partake of one of those." He makes it clear that it is Taviel's choice to bring them in or not, but is providing his opinion on it as is his duty.
Taviel turned to her companions. "You probably better wait in the Inn then. I'll find you when I learn what is happening. So much for good rest. Sorry about it - one it's over, whatever it is, I promise to show a true hospitality of Elturel!" She dismounted and walked to the house with Nissa on her shoulder, leaving Nodwick with the horses.
Taviel walks into her parents house, more mercenary guards visible around the grounds and even inside the house itself. Word moves faster than she does though, since she is barely inside the house when her mother is rushing up.
"It is so good you are here." She says, pulling Taviel into a hug, then putting her back out to arms-length. She wrinkles her nose. "Maybe you should get presentable though, before anything else..." She turns her head and calls for a servant. "Get a bath ready for Taviel." Turning back Taviel's mother says. "Go ahead and wash up, and we will see you in the morning for breakfast."
(It is around 9 or 10 P.M. right now, so is getting late.)
Toc watches the groups new pet take a nest on Naroth's shoulder and a small grin alights his face. But it's short lived and consternation seems to take its place. He says nothing though as the group presses on.
When they near the glowing sky, Toc takes it all in, impressed. He'd not heard of this place, and not seen anything like this. It's quite remarkable magic. Perhaps not equaling the power of an elven Mythal, but impressive all the same. Still, he stays silent as Taviel tells them all about her home and invites them to her family. He is alert as they move through the city, looking for any signs of Dragon Cult activity and noting the signs of extra vigilance in the population here. When they arrive at Taviel's to a chilly greeting he silently lets the guards appraise him and the group and to talk to Taviel.
Looking to Germain, Toc makes a motion to depart without an Inn recommendation, and heads towards the docks, looking for Maidensbridge street. Despite the hour, he's not in any hurry, and casually rides his horse through the streets looking for "A Pair of Black Antlers" Inn, making sure the group stays with him.
He speaks as they go, "Increased security. Whatever has been going on here has been going on for weeks. Long enough for people to recognize it, and then finally be forced to respond by hiring mercenaries and security folk. I'd say months. And there must have been some significant events. I'm sure Taviel will learn about them, but we should keep our eyes and ears open when we get to the Inn. There's little doubt in my mind this is linked to the Dragon Cult."

Everything was so familiar - the house (more "rich" than "stylish" but she loved it as it was), the smells, the noises... Taviel felt like she was about to cry, but mother was herself too - collected and practical even in affection, and too orderly to break the routine for any occurrence. But Taviel could not wait for so long!
"Morning?! Mother, I returned home and found mercenaries at the gates. At least tell me what is going on!"
"Seems the Cult has far reaching hands to get this far. Hopefully Taviel can bring us some more news, that we can trust. Until then, let's find this Inn and get out of this saddle. My ass is starting to ache from all the riding."
Enjoying the sights fierce one? As a precaution in the city you might want to duck inside my cloak while we are in the city. I promise to get you some fresh food as soon as we get inside. Naroth mentally speaks to Thezzela
Germain frowns as the others talk, "Perhaps. It is possible the cult could be behind their increased security, but let's not rush to judgement. It could be connected to the abduction attempt and the two may not be linked to the cult. Never narrow your focus until the enemy is in front of you."
As Toc, Germain, and Naroth move towards the tavern Taviel suggested, they would notice that no other mansions, near Taviel's home, have the extra security. As they move through the city security would almost seem lax, as if there were no cult raiding villages in the not-so-distant Greenfields. You are able to find the 'A Pair of Black Antlers' tavern fairly easily though.
"Oh that..." Taviel's mother says with a wave of a hand towards the front of the house. "Just some attempts to get that old mask your father has had hanging in his office all of these years. You know the one, the one you were so interested in when you were young, that looks like a green lizard or something." She shrugs. "We had to hire extra secuirty as their have been a couple of robbery attempts, that is all."
As Toc, Germain, and Naroth enter the tavern you spot Leosin Erlanthar almost immediately. he is seated at a large table near the bar, with a massive bull of a man. This second man is laughing loudly and drinking from a large mug. With them are a couple other warriors, as well as a few monks of Erlanthar's order.

Taviel's apparent concern puts Germain on alert as he looks around for reasons for the additional guards.

(What are the rest of you doing then?)
