Naroth agrees with the plan and then moves out in the opposite direction of Toc and Germain, "I scout this way." Then will circle around Taviel's homestead to see if he can see where the intruders have approached the compound and also check the surrounding buildings to see if any are close enough to jump from one roof to another. He will also attempt casually ask any groups on the streets he encounters if they have noticed anything weird going on about town. Then will meet up with the others and discuss.
Germain manages to guide Toc, somewhat stealthily, through the streets. Naroth though has a difficult time of his investigation, unable to really find his way through his opposite-direction path, and ends up back at the tavern he started from. (taking the first roll you did, as I only was allowing one skill to be used per player.)
You have 2 successes and 1 failure. You need only one more success before you get 2 more failures.
If Toc can add another skill check: Toc tries to use his insight into people's behavior to choose the best of the potential locations, and which may draw the least attention from others: 18

Toc tries to determine which of the two locations he found would be best for your night time steakout, and believes the one further away would work better than the closer one. You set up to watch Taviel's family home.
As Naroth joins you he is stopped by a mercenary as he walks past Taviel's family home's front gate...
"What are you about?" The guard asks, glancing at Naroth. "Didn't I see you with the wayward daughter earlier?" He asks, looking around the area a bit more closely. "Why are you out here at this time of night..." (It is nearly midnight now...)
"Evening. What daughter you speak of? Friends and I are staying at Inn," he points back in the direction of the inn, "and decided to take walk. New to town. Like to get lay of land I new to."
"Evening. What daughter you speak of? Friends and I are staying at Inn," he points back in the direction of the inn, "and decided to take walk. New to town. Like to get lay of land I new to."
"Don't expect me to buy that load of shat." The guard says with a glare. "I saw you right there with them others, with the daughter, that Taviel girl..." He glances around warily. "Where are your friends..." He turns back to you when he doesn't spot them. "Get gone, if I see you again I'll turn you into the city watch..."
And so begins the long....bright...night as they keep watch over the house. Toc will use the last 4 hours before dawn to pass the watch to someone else and do his normal meditation. His hawk keeps eyes on things during this time, watching for anything unusual.

"Oh Taviel, yes I travel with her. Was just not sure you were talking 'bout her. What I done wrong? New to town and not sure laws broken. Just walking down street looking at sights. No mean get you mad. Last left friends at Inn, want to see if they still there, get drink? I pay. They were talking 'bout going back to house of Taviel though so not be there maybe." Naroth says to the guard.
[OOC: Technically I am sort of not lying, about the situation anyway, I am attempting to underlay how smart I truly am though.]
[OOC: So going to go badly, I know my roll here is going to shoot me in the foot.]
Toc, give me a perception check for yourself and/or your familiar. You can have one of you take the 'help' action if you wish. Germain, Naroth, and Nodwick are all sleeping on the roof nearby.

Familiar already has advantage on perception checks relying on sight, so i'll choose the "and" option. (if it's not based on sight, they have the same +, so i'll still do it this way, just ignore the hawk's advantage roll. )
As you are keeping watch you first notice several figures walking directly down the road, heading in the direction of Taviel's home, or at least walking down the road in that direction. As they get closer you see an individual in purple robes, very like those worn by the woman in purple robes from the cultist camp. This wearer-of-purple is with a fairly large group of others. <monimg]rezmir[/monimg]
There are five... <monimg]dragonwing[/monimg]
There are 10... <monimg]dragonclaw[/monimg]
There are 2... <monimg]dragonfang[/monimg]
At the rear, near the wearer-in-purple, are 5... <monimg]veteran[/monimg]
As they pass by the area you are on your steakout from, Toc notices something else. Across the road, in the grounds of the home next to Taviel's, he sees a flash of movement, red swirling in the darkness there. He also ehars words of magic from that direction, before the red vanishes.
