Taviel Stands protectively over Naroth, sending up fireworks to wake the guards and anyone sleeping inside the hostil.
Ulric Ulric places a hand on naroth, healing the man's wounds. Naroth blinks open eyes as he is brought back awake.
Naroth Rising to his feet he would spot his little dragon safely perched above, looking concerned at him. The little dragon swoops to Naroth's shoulder, clearly overjoyed to see him up and alive. Naroth does not find his clan's totem though. As he scans the gorund for sign of the assassin, he finds ajumble of tracks, and nothing that tells him anything of use.
Toc Appears among the wagons in a cloud of mist. he scans the area, but does not spot anything. His familiar also indicates nothing to be seen.
Germain Doesn't see anything of concern either, just Taviel's fireworks.
Combat is over. The assassin got away, but might be seen again, as his work was not completed...
Toc looks around, seeing Naroth's vicious wounds. "An assassin? Well well....that's unfortunate. I wonder why they would target you."
Using message he points to the group over and over, facilitating a quiet mental discussion with Message , "He may very well still be around. Careful what you say out loud. From now on, I can be a bit smarter about how I spend my evenings. I'll continue to play at staying in a room, but my familiar should be able to keep a watch over you and I can certainly use my usual evening time to keep a better look out."

What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer? Class.
Naroth is seething with rage at the loss of the totem, and speaks between gritted teeth, "I have no idea who the assassins were, all I recall is blades slicing through me."
Germain would raise the window to listen to the conversation, but, remembering the plan of pretending not to know each other during the trip and trying to faithfully protect his client, he does not engage and merely continues to scan the area until things calm down. He then returns to sleep for the night.
After their silent conversation, Toc turns away from Naroth and glances around. With such terrible wounds, there must be a lot of blood. He glances around and looks for some sort of trail on the ground...an indication which way the assassin went.....
As with Naroth, Toc is unable to find any sign of the assassin's passage. There is just too much dirt, with the various wagon, horses, and human prints crisscrossing it every which way.
Eventually everyone turns in for the night. The rest of that night is uneventful and you all can get a long rest.
The next day the caravan hitches up and starts moving once more. You continue traveling along the road northward, the Sea of Swords to one side and the rolling hills and forestland to your other. Birdsong can be heard in the trees and seagulls spotted flying over the water of the sea. It would be a beautiful day if you all did not know there were assassins among the travelers that accompany you.
Regardless of their being there, the assassins do nothing that day. You travel, take a rest stop at midday, then travel along further. That night you set up camp between two hills, with a small stream nearby, that empties into the Sea of Swords further downstream. The moon is full and bright as you camp out here. Toc would notice another wizard has joined the travelers, having been at the hostile you stayed at the previous night. He stays mostly to himself, with his one apprentice always near-at-hand.
The next day Taviel openly came to Naroth - secrecy is nice but as a fellow caravan guard and the one discovered the crime she felt she was justified in her visit. "What was that about? What's so important in your wagon to get the guard killed? Did you check if anything is missing?" Questions were open too though she hoped the answer will hint on something hidden - obviously it was not just a caravan robbery.
Overhearing Taviel, Ulric would come over as well. Obviously by the time of the attack he knew the names of the other guards.
"Naroth, good to see you up and around. I am also curious if anything else was taken. The attacker was impressively quick in their attack and their escape. We must assume they are still with the caravan and a threat."
Toc, ignores the wizard.....though his familiar keeps an eye on him and his assistant. Toc absently wonders if he should get an assistant. When it comes to resting, Toc's familiar keeps a special eye on Naroth in the evening, and Toc uses message to coordinate their sleeping, so that he won't be caught meditating when an attack occurs. So, Toc meditates early from before dinner through to early evening, and then is awake later. Though he still spends his time in his own tent, the flaps tied to make entry one step harder for anyone, and he flips back and forth between his own senses and his familiars....listening for movement and watching for activity.
The next day though, if the wizard is still with them and if the evening was uneventful, Toc will approach the wizard, as if he were a fledgling spell caster and ask if he might be interested in exchanging spells.

"I have no idea, I need to check with my employer to see if anything went missing." Naroth says dejectedly. He then goes about his duties his head on a swivel looking for anymore trouble. Trying not to be too obvious about it but continuing to stare at the new wizard and then also the cultist wagons as well.
Deception: 3
Throughout the day though his hand moves on its own to the pouch on his belt where he had the totem.
Germain deduces the wizard joined the caravan, as many others have, to travel with a bigger group in this area. He does not detect any hidden motivations.
Naroth continues to watch those around, and does a fair job of pretending not to do so.
Toc When you approach the wizard he looks you up and down, frowning a bit at the weapons you carry. "If you can best me in a wizard's duel, then I will allow you to copy any one spell you wish from my spellbook." He frowns at the weapons again. "No weapons allowed, and you must first best my apprentice, as I won't waste my time with you unless you are more than what you appear." The apprentice looks a bit concerned as they look you over, glancing in worry at their master, but swallowing hard before getting up. "Yes... Well... We should step away from the wagons I suppose..." The apprentice says as they bite their lower lip anxiously.
Toc looks at the wizard....."You want us to sling spells at each other? If I want to harm someone, I have my sword, I really have no offensive spells...."
(If Toc is able to adjust his prepared spells for the day, if he hasn't done so since his long rest....then he'll accept, otherwise, the ONLY offensive spell he knows is green-flame blade which is useless without a weapon....so....he can't compete. If he IS able to switch one spell out, then he'll agree.)
He moves off to a clear area and places his bags down. "How do we start?"

Yes you can switch your spells. As the wizard is traveling with you for a bit, they would be willing to do this the next day instead, so it would work out just fine for you to accept, then switch out spells.
"First, put this on." The wizard says as he hands a ring to both his apprentice and to Toc. "This will make any offensive spells you throw do non-lethal damage. We don't want anyone to die here after all."
