Ramious, still distracted by his own thoughts and visions of the girl looks through to the door seems to be paying little attention for a few moments. He seems to realize he's been day dreaming and clears his throat, walking over to near the door. He stands guard as Alyssa checks it for traps. If she gives the all clear, he'll encourage her to back up and then tries to open the door.

What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer? Class.
All Alyssa's experience, every reference to any ancient tomb, the knowledge of this place and a simple logic scream "the door should be trapped" - and yet, if the trap is there, it is hidden well. Even the nature of the trap is unclear, though, again, logic and experience say you should not expect a simple mechanical arrow to the knee, but something much more sinister.
There is a lock on the door and though you do not have the key - the Stuff does not seem to fit - it looks like it can be unlocked. With some luck and a lot of patience.
((Whatever you do - break the door, pick the lock - please, give a detailed description of how you do it. Also, the room is not that big, are you all in there already?))
“It is most likely trapped. Nothing simple though...” Alyssa would go to try the door herself, but would stop short when Ramious would encourage her to back up. “Just, please be careful. Something doesn’t feel right.” The elf would offer her Guidance.
"Should we all back up, and let Ramious try it without risking everyone at the same time?" Leon suggests. "We can't help him, if thigns go wrong, and we are all caught in whatever this trap might be." If others agree, then Leon would back up to the stone they pulled free, and give Ramious room enough to do whatever he is going to do without everyone crowded around the door.
Ramious shrugs, "It's ok, I'll pick the lock. Everyone back up." He accepts her Guidance. "Thanks." Ramious walks up to the door and kneels down so he can peer into the keyhole, spending a bit of time examining it. Then he pulls out his tools, down on one knee before the door, and begins his work.
Alyssa would hesitate. There was that nagging feeling in her mind and churning in her gut that told her she should help their tiefling along with guiding him. She knew Ramious didn't want her around, but her archaeologist senses were tingling. If he wanted to succeed, like it or not, he might need her help. So the elf, feeling stubborn, not wanting to stand behind and watch, would stay to help, willing to take any chastising.
Alyssa's stubbornness, though, payed up: it did not speed up things - the painstaking process of breaking the lock in the narrow space still took good five minutes (that felt much longer for Bernard and Leon waiting outside), but it allowed Ramious to recognize - and disarm! - the mechanism of the trap that was part to the lock itself. With the final and so anticipated "click" the doors opened up and both "burglars" noticed a glass sphere, that was pushed away by the mechanism. Whatever is inside - that could not be good.
Behind the doors those in foyer could see now a chamber cut out of the rock with a veil of calcite and stalactites covering the walls. Buttresses rise from the corners, brown shot through with black, and triangular stone pillars support the high ceiling. Occupying the center of the chamber is a colossal monument resembling a giant’s table, covered on all sides with intricate carvings and glyphs. Engraved on the floor in front of the entrance is a circle that displays more glyphs. Opposite the entrance, a battleaxe is embedded in the wall, six feet above the floor.
"Good job you two." Leon said as the way forward was opened. he moved back in to join Ramious by the now-open doors. "So what are we suppose to find in here anyway?" He asks as he glances past Ramious, but does not enter the room ahead just yet.
"Give me a moment..." He says, casting detect magic as a ritual.
"A moment" took ten minutes of waiting in the cold grey darkness but eventually Leon could see. Not that far - just up to the middle of the monument - but he did saw now a weak aura of Abjuration school, coming from the top of the monument. Nothing else in that range seems to be magical.
Her eyes would catch a glimpse of the glass sphere, “That’d have been a nasty curse...” Alyssa would mutter beneath her breath as she’d pad along by with the boys.
When Leon would take his ‘moment’ to ritual cast detect magic, Alyssa would take advantage of the time to refresh her ritual of comprehend languages as well.
Peeking over their shoulders from further back in the group, the elf would translate the writing on the floor near the door, “Defilers! Now you shall join me in my eternal resting! Your suffering will never end!"
”Well, that’s helpful...”
Can Alyssa study the glyphs, determine anything from those?
Alyssa can study the glyphs, of course, but the only additional information to squeeze from them is that they are very old and look as archaic as the language of the crayfish and the girl in the cave sounds.
When Leon got closer to the monument, he could see that the aura on top of it has no specific point and does not outline anything (Intelligence (Investigation) check DC17), he also determined that the battleaxe on the wall is magical. The weapon looks as ancient as anything here, perfectly preserved and of curious design: it has a blade of bronze, and the haft is wound with snakeskin wrappings. Nothing else stands out.
The most interesting thing in the room is still the monument itself. Leon and Ramious can see it now in all it's glory. The monument is constructed from several parts: a great stone slab, 20 feet long by 10 feet wide, rests upon a 4-foot-thick monolith of rock of similar dimensions, and this, in turn, is supported by six huge blocks of dolomite. Every component has been covered with intricate carvings and glyphs. The top of the slab depicts a struggle between a dark-skinned man and a mighty, knotted serpent.
Engraved alongside this illustration are glyphs identical to those found on the door. Under these writings are etched a series of four face-glyphs in a line. At the foot of the slab is a row of eleven of these symbols, all different in form.
I will need a Perception check as well (from anyone) and you do remember, that it's dark around, right? You can see in greyscale - true - but this is matt monochrome surface all around.
