(Didn’t realize we were waiting on me.)
Alyssa would mutter a few words beneath her breath, causing her ring to glow. With a flock of her wrist, she’d release a shard of ice towards the foe. Then, she’d continue with a gentle melodic tune, sending some healing light Bernard’s way.
Attack: 15 Damage: 8 Explodes on hit: 6 (idea would be the shards shatter to try cutting the tendrils grasping others. Missing my hit modifier on that hit roll for some reason, +7 which I don’t think it’d hit anyway)
(You did not make anyone wait, it's jut a roll call)
(Ice knife is not possible - this is leveled spell regardless of the source, but some Cantrip is possible, so you can change the action)
Leon could not break the grip and did not attack either. Bernard wisely concentrated on healing his wounds (Alyssa's soothing light helped immensely), but Ramious did attack, hit, and hit hard. The tree noticed it quite well and tried to catch him, and elusive wizard once again:
vs Ramious: 12
vs Alyssa: 20
It missed Alyssa again, but Ramious now was caught too (escape DC 15. Until the grapple ends, you are restrained and have disadvantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws (in addition to Disadvantage on Dexterity saves from restrained conditions))
There was no need to reel the new victim but plenty of them to bite from it:
vs Ramious: Attack: 23 Damage: 31
(Anything Ramious can do to dodge the attack? Don't think Shield would be enough here)
(The strangest and the most confusing rule "One leveled spell per turn, period" remains true no matter what (exception - action surge, though, it has it's own complications))
The fire hit, and Alyssa decorated the tree-trunk with another scorch-mark.
Not sure quite what to do, Bernard decided to light up the tree thing. He summoned his bugs and forced them at the try to make it glow.
Casting fairie fire. Dex save of 13 or its lit up in a blue color. This gives advantage on attacks. So for everyone restrained, it would cause a straight roll for attacks rather than disadvantage. Assuming it fails it save and all.
Ramious gets caught by the tendril in an expert perfect attack....and then the thing bites him.....and then he's lost all control.....his eyes lose their focus as all thought flees his mind and his only desire is to kill everything around him with the axe. But...first...to free himself. He flies into a rage to help himself escape.....
(Advantage from Rage, disadvantage from tendril, so, straight roll..) : 12
(hunh...how bout that....). The massive powerful warrior, raging and crazed, struggles helplessly in the things grasp.
Tree trunk was definitely wounded - no blood or sap poured from it but cuts were there. The creature continued to fight and it definitely understood the danger from still running around mage:
Grappling Alyssa: 18
That was close, but not close enough, Alyssa remained free, but struggling prey whose blood the tree just tasted was too close to ignore:
vs Ramious: Attack: 25 Damage: 27
Only mad stubbornness ((Ramious is Raging, right?) kept the tiefling still conscious, but another bite could prove fatal.
Bernard gritted his teeth, Ramious needed healing... they all did really but he couldn't get to him. Redoubled his efforts he struck out at the creature with his blade.
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Attack: 24 Damage: 7
If one hits then another 6 force damage from swarm
The tree does not bother to dodge, but it holds Ramious too tight and at too strange of an angle for him to aim true - even the mighty axe misses in this situation.
It was as if a balloon lost the air - Alyssa's flame, then Bernard's strike finally hit something inside the "tree" that kept the monster alive and the whole "body" shrunk, "branches" fell, freeing their captives, and the remains of that ferocious creature now resembled just a pile of seaweed, rotting in the shallow dirty water.
But the victory did not bring peace... Not yet. Leon and Bernard were free from the monster - but so was Ramious.
Leon gets a turn prior to Ramious, as Leon has not acted yet this round...
He will move away, taking the disengage action if needed. He would not leave Alysa to face Ramious alone though, so would make sure to either pull her with him, if she is willing, or to stand protectively in front of her if she is not.

( But she’s using it from a ring for her action? That’s still not acceptable? Why do I ask? Of course it’s not... sigh. Don’t know why I bother.)
Here we can just assume she tosses fire and nothing else:
Attack: 22 Damage: 13
abd here’s another.
Attack: 19 Damage: 6
just an unstable unicorn.

Tree save: 0
The tree now gently shined blue, slightly illuminating the room around it. It even looked pretty... to a degree. Still deadly, though.
Leon tried to free himself, but the tendril hold fast.

Ramious, suddenly realizing he doesn't need to free himself in order to kill the tree, starts chopping at it with all his might.

Well, Bernard had 15 minutes left of the fly potion before the fight.
With the restraints loosened he suddenly flies up and is heading toward the door. "Leon, get out of sight!"
(L,B,A) 2Ramious looks around for the nearest enemy. (Since I don't have a map, I don't know who is closest...but I'll let the DM decide).

Closest would be Leon , the map is about like here https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/63792-tales-from-the-yawning-portal?comment=2115 except Bernard is in the air and the tree is dead.
