Bernard would stop at the wall and turn and let the others know of the situation.  When turning back he'd see the creature and tense for a moment.  Not sure what it was, it could clearly see them.  He holds out a hand to indicate to the others to stop and then in a calm and even voice he said.  "Miss creature, may we pass though?"

By now with all your experience you would be able to recognize Force barrier. After all, you came here to stand against some wizard. As of creature... Legends of wise and knowledgeable immortal guards with the body of the lions and humanoid heads that ask riddles are quite popular. An outlander, like githyanki Leon might not be familiar with Gynosphinxes, but Alyssa definitely heard about them.

The creature, though, announced her intention herself. "I am Neda. I am the guardian of this pass. If you wish to get in - you have to answer the questions. Should you guess right - you may pass, should you guess wrong - you should leave. Should you force your way in - you will die."

Big yellow eyes focused on Bernard: The question is this:

Bernard shrugs, "ohh, by questions you mean riddles.  Okay, not my specialty to I'll give it a go.  Round and flat... lupine... like a wolf?  Jewl on black velvet... wolf?  Oh, it's the moon.  You're talking about the moon," Bernard says.

He turns towards the others, "Hey, she's asking riddles and the first one is about the moon."

Not a muscle twitch on Neda's face, she just lowered her head and added in her even murmuring voice: "Great Keraptis welcomes you to his dungeon. May your death be swift and painless. You can proceed."

Another touch to the place where invisible wall stood a moment ago proved that the path is free. You had three corridors ahead to select from, seemingly the same - left, straight ahead and right. Neda seemed to loose any interest in you for now staring again into the corridor behind you.

Ramious scratches his head and looks around, "But....why does she want us to know about the moon? Can't even see the moon in here. We gunna leave this talkin cat lady behind us to trap us in? Hey...cat lady..er...Neda...can we leave when we want, or are you gunna ask more strange questions? And..what's down each of these hallways?  And....generally when people wish for me to die...i like to kill 'em...so...stop sayin stuff like that, k?"

A would recall the creature from their studies, content to take a moment to sketch Neda as Bernard solves the riddle. Once the barrier was down, the elf would absentmindedly begin walking forward into the area while working their notes. They'd glance down each hallway before veering a little towards the left corridor. They'd keep their ears attentive for the Gynosphinxe's response to Ramious.

Golden eyes stopped staring into the far away and slightly turned to Ramious. "I wished you well, for Keraptis summoned you here to play cat and mouse with you to kill you slowly. One who stepped inside - accepted the game. You can join your friend here or stay on the other side - you answered the question and can proceed or return. I can not tell what danger and where awaits you, but once you stepped over the line - you only path now is to go forward. I will close the gates again."

All corridors run straight ahead, all seemed to turn - or end (hard to tell from your point), the one in the middle seems a bit shorter. But this is all you could say for now.

"Well we are in, now what?" Leon asks as he steps past the cat-thing. He looks to the others as he sloshes his way through the water. "Left, Right, or Straight?" he asks the others.

“The only unique thing I can tell from here, is the ‘straight’ option appears the shortest.” A would add to the decision. They tended to veer to going left or clockwise first, but would be fine with any direction. They had three weapons to find, so they’d assume they’d have to go each corridor eventually.

Ramious steps over the line, then replies to the cat woman, "Who's Keraptis?  What's he like? Solid dude? Wizard? Snake for hair? Made of stone?  Got any clues for us?"

Bernard shakes his head at Ramious and turns hiding a slight smile.  He rolls his eyes and says, "Well, seems we are in similar prediciment as last time.  Different temple... well cave, same shite.  So, we go through and kick down the door to the treasure room, get the magic weapons come back."  He turns to A, "Are you thinking we go the shortest route or should take a long walk?"

It did feel the same, only instead of of a rockfall, sealing you underground, you get a forcefiled, still sealing you underground. With a few probable advantages - you had at least some incentive what to expect (everything, basically), who is responsible for it (if only by the name) and what is your goal here (the most clear part - retrieve the well described weapons).

Still not turning her head and now averting eyes again the gynosphinx answered one last time: "Keraptis is the one who summoned me and many others, the one who lured and trapped you here. You will entertain him while alive and serve when you are dead. That is what he wants you to know."

A voice - not the cat woman but a male one, with the notes of madness in it - suddenly spoke out of the air: "Such hesitant guests! Stop pestering my gate-keeper. Get inside already, my guardians are waiting for you!"

Leon looks up at the sound of the man's voice. "So watching and listening already?" he speaks out loud. "Care to tell us which of the three passages we should try first?" Not expecting an answer he glances to Ramious and A. "Straight ahead then?"

"There are three weapons we are to get and three passages.  I'd guess maybe one at the end of each?  Who knows but makes no difference to me."  He looks at the others shrugs and says, "Middle one it is," and starts that direction.

Perception for traps 25

Ramious grins, "But....we literally just got here and we're already annoying this guy.  I sorta wanna keep going."  He turns to the cat creature, "So...do you need to eat?  What do you eat and where does the food come from?  And...do you just sit here all the time, or do you sleep?  Or do you get to go for walks?  Have you ever thought about exploring the place? Want to come with us?  You could help, we could band together with all his servants and do like...an uprising thing....you know, power in numbers." 

(assuming this goes nowhere, he follows Bernard down the center passage). 

As they move out again Leon would pause to take rear guard, but, as A likely is doing that, he will shrug and take the position just behind Ramious.

The assumption was correct. Sphinx ear twitch a bit, probably indicating that she heard Ramious, but that was it. The giant cat-woman did not bother with answers.

As you move along the water-covered corridor - the javelin continue to slide along the floor - you came across a small opening to the right, a small circular room 10ft in diameter, with the water in it deeper that around (at least javelin jerked down and did not reach the floor in there. Nothing grabbed the javelin, nothing sprung out of the water, who knows what purpose the room served. 

Corridor continued ahead and you could already see it was opening to a much bigger area. Unless you wanted to stop and investigate the pool in the small room, you could continue splashing forward.

Ramious mutters, "I got this."  He ties a rope around himself, secures his stuff, leaves his backpack sitting in the water sopping up liquid, hands the rope to Leon, and climbs into the water. Without so much as a deep breath he submerges into the water and starts looking around.

"Guess we are checking out the small chamber here." Leon says as he holds the other end of the rope. "Didn't realize our tiefling friend was such a swimmer..." He comments to A and Bugs as they wait.

"Remind me, when he comes back up, that I have a spell to help with this." Leon tells the others. "I have a new ritual I can do, to let us all breathe water as easily as air."
