Diving into unknown and without means to breath under water was a risk (serious risk, considering the place) but it payed off - there was something down there. The pool in that little room was not that deep - no more than 10ft, actually and at the bottom Ramious found a wheel that, though rusty, was looked (and felt) sturdy enough and "turn-able". Should Ramious try to do such thing, though, it will be a challenge to his muscles (DC 20 Strength check (Athletic will do)).
15... Ramious sets his feet best he can, and puts his back into it. Under the water he grins to himself. This Necklace of Adaptation he picked up was coming in handy already.
He growls at the stuck thing. A number of sub conscience things suddenly jumping to the fore and his heart pounds as he goes into a rage and tries again to move the thing. 12
Growling and angry he returns to the surface. His rage vanishing. Still in the water he says, “There’s a stuck wheel down here. Anyone want to come down and try to help me get it movin?”
A would shift uncomfortably, noticing they still can't seem to find their place to comfortably fit in the group. Imposter. Perhaps coming back was a mistake. The elf would pause, turning to look back at the entrance. They'd sigh to themselves. Deja vu? Shaking their head to themselves they'd move along to catch up with the group at the little chamber.
A would nod when Leon would comment about having a ritual available to help them all breathe water. A could alter their own appearance to an aquatic one to achieve the same results, giving up their 'new skin', but it was definitely not as handy or efficient as a ritual that could provide it to others. So when Ramious would re emerge, they'd look to Leon. "I believe now's your chance to try that spell." They'd nod, gesturing towards the hole with barely a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of their lips.
Leon strained, with Ramious doing the same across from him. It felt like the thing was part of the stone around them, not a separate item... Then it gave. Suddenly Leon felt himself about to fall over, he was straining so hard, but he caught himself, working with Ramious to continue turning the wheel. He just hoped this did something useful, and didn't end up with them letting some beast free.
There was no beast. Well, not immediately anyway. But once the wheel was turned by combined strength of Leon and Ramious, there was a noise that felt echoing across the mountain, adding some gritting sensation to the rumbling of the volcano under the feet of Bernard and A. Immediate result was not clear, but once both warriors emerged from that small well... the level of the water in the corridor seemed to be a touch lower? Could be imagination, of course, but it did feel as if moving was getting easier. Just a bit.
One thing for sure, though, that was not the place with the weapon in it.
(Did a hatch open or was it just a wheel we turned for no real reason... I was thinking it was some sort of hatch, like on a submarine.)
Glancing to Ramious... "Any reason why we did that?" Leon asks. He glances to the water. "Water level seems lower, but is that a good thing or a bad one..."
Ramious clambers out of the water. He shrugs, "I dunno. Seems maybe we opened a drain somewhere. Probably a good thing. But, we're rats in a maze. I think we just poke and prod everything we see and hope it's good and not bad. Seemed hard to do. So it's probably good."
He picks up his bag, tossing it over a shoulder...a steady stream of water pouring from its wet bottom.
"Well, lead onwards brave Bugs."

Bugs laughs and says, "Well of it makes things easier no complaints." He then stows the spear back in his magic quiver and grabs his new bow. He nocks an arrow and moves forward to keep scouting and looking for traps.
If your host was watching, he did not comment the events or the words (probably the sign itself), the only sound you could hear is the grumble of the mountain and your own splashing as you move forward. The water is still there, the floor remains slippery but soon you reached the end of the corridor.
Ahead is what appears to be a water-covered room, with steps rising out of the muck on the far side. The javelin again revealed that ahead is the deeper pool. The only shallow spaces are those that run mostly around the perimeter of the room, where the water is only 1 foot deep (a bit less now) like in the other corridors.
In the middle of the pool there are two healthy looking seaweed bushes - nice contrast to the bleak surrounding. 23

Something in that room absolutely fascinated Ramious! The bushes, definitely the bushes - not taking his eyes from the closest one, the tiefling stepped around Bernard and moved straight into the central pool, not caring even to leave his (already soaking wet) backpack behind. It looks like he is intending to dive and walk or swim all the way to the plants.
A would busy themselves with jotting down notes on the lever and now reduced water level. They’d follow along with the others to the next room, aware that the perimeter held shallower points, most likely being the path they’d consider taking if they were going to cross the room. It wasn’t surprising to A that Ramious would take off on his own towards the centre, though it didn’t change blue hues from following.
(Roll to decipher somethings amiss? Roll to identify the plants?)
To A's best knowledge the plants look exactly as plants. Ramious, on the other hand, never being known as a gardener. And he moved without a word of encouragement/warning/boasting.
Leon might as well feel the tingle of his ward on him and realise that magic protection was activated.

"One moment Ramious." Leon says. "I have a spell that I want to use first..." He casts [water breathing[/spell] as a ritual.
With that done he moves into the water with Ramious and down to aid in the attempt.
